Forgot to post this up here the other day. I posted it in the Amazon warehouse deals thread.

Someone found a 40" Williams US made box on Amazon for $485, down from $2300. This model was supposed to have a keyless entry feature to enable different employees to use their pin number to enter. Fast forward to when i receive the box, i received the non-keyless entry version. Called Amazon and explained what the situation was. They apologized for sending the wrong box and refunded me my money and told me to keep it!!!! For free----

And it is made in the US, basically a Snap On Classic series box, has lock n roll slides, etc...

kunkernator, YOU ****!

Thanks!

KRA4107 heritage clone, easy mod - drop those 2" drawers down and move a 4" up

I dont think there is any "clone" about it. Williams is owned by Snap On, the sticker on the back is the same as Snap On boxes, "Made in Algona Iowa". The only real difference I can see it the drawers have black trim, and the layout is a bit different as you stated. As far as I am concerned, it is a Snap On quality box.

You can't just drop a bomb like that and run away! Get back here and give some details.

You **** for sure!

Haha, do you think I'm going to give away my source? They were from a local pawn shop kind of place. It was definitely a one time deal. Luckily, they think Snap On is the **** and everything else is garbage!

That is the way the pawn shops around here are too, except when something is new and shiny, then it is worth close to retail.

There's a crappy set of 5 MAC ratcheting wrenches at the local pawn shop that has been there since I moved into the area in 2006.

I actually found the set on eBay. It's this set right here:

In worse condition, that they want 70$ for. It will likely be there forever. I don't understand why every pawn shop in the area is like this but they just sit on inventory forever. Having inventory is terrible from a business perspective. It's just money sitting getting older and crappier. I'm sure they gave some guy like 5$ for them so just sell them for 30$ and get them out of there!

Four.cycle, I understand Lang/Kastar made those, but they had to have made them with different standards based on the manufacturer. I started out buying the craftsman versions, but under load they would skip, then reverse, then slam you hand into an immovable object. We went on to the Klein branded ones and had no trouble ever again. I still have my Klein versions and they are still my favorite wrench for the application. I have also owned the straight versions that were branded Snap On and the feel of the ratcheting mechanism is much smoother than any of the offset versions I had owned or tried.

Strouty: check the patent numbers on them. That will indicate who holds the patent, and if it's LANG, they're made by Kastar/Lang.

Craftsman offered one similar to the Kastar/Lang model - it's got a more "roundy" head on the business end. They're a bit different in appearance.
You might be confusing those models with the Kastar/Lang design.

No "different standard" on those from Kastar/Lang - they all came off the same production line in Racine, Wisconsin. I peddled Kastar as an independent manufacturer's agent in 1989-1990. Conversations with the muckity-mucks in their sales department made it pretty clear they've been OE on those for all kinds of companies for decades. (see the post I cited above.)

Thanks a bunch. Do you like the ratchet thus far ?

I love it. It is a little weird when you max out the ratchet, it stops and blinks. I thought I broke it already haha. But the tool just limits the torque applied so you don't hurt it I suppose. No big deal just use it as a normal ratchet when something is tight and the tool runs it in or out. It's great actually because it won't pin your hand down like my old SnapOn haha.

I know the SO ratchet you speak of. That ratchet has pissed me off more than a few times.

Yup. Plenty of busted knuckles because of that darn thing. But hey when you have an air ratchet that will take out Duramax torque converter bolts it's worth keeping around haha. But from now on the Milwaukee will be used 90% of the time and the SnapOn only when shits getting real haha.

Just picked this bad boy up. Been trying to get the exact same pump from my boss but he wanted too much for it. This one needs a rebuild, but I got it cheap enough to make it worthwhile.

Picked up a refurbed Simpson/Honda pressure washer at Ollie's for $250. Only 3,000psi/2.4gpm but it's enough for what I'm gonna use it for.
Ran it the last two days with no problems but the engine does smoke when shut off...

A few air pockets on the writing on the handle, one looks like it got dropped while it was still hot, has some dirt looking discoloration on the handle. But nothing that looks like it will affect functionality

Good to hear, thanks.

Complete splruge purchase for me, just looking to add some DB hammers to my basement, around the house and on the go tool collections.

And needed something to get me the free shipping when getting the stubby flat flat.
