I got this today. It's a ratchet screwdriver, made by N.Rucci, they are from a little city in Santa Fe (an argnetinian province), they make just a few tools, like locking pliers, screwdrivers, t wrenches, pipe wrenches, and some other car tools (i understand this brand is "popular" between race mechanics here), nothing special but they have great build quality.

Talking about the screwdriver, i've been looking for it but i couldn't find it, then i sent an email to the company and they told me they weren't making it anymore (i guess it didn't sell well).
Finally i found it on exhibition in a tool shop i usually go, i guess it was the last one.
The tool itself, it comes in a wooden box with six bits (three sloted and three philips, but they algo come in torx). Yes, they have their own socket, it's a pity (i don't know, maybe the hex socket wasn't popular in the 70's when they started making the screwdriver).
The screwdriver it's bigger than i thought, it's heavy and looks very well made. The special thing about this tool is that you can turn the metal handle 90 degrees and turn it while pressing on the red handle, giving more torque (it has a maximum torque of 33nm)

Greco, are they still making VW's and Mercedes in Argentina? I havent been down in years but was always suprised by the manufactuing capability of the country, and the **** they would let fly for ski lifts. Sure wish we had beef like Argeninta up here!

Oh, thanks! But it's getting more expensive recently :willy_nil :willy_nil

Yes, there're plants of Mercedes, Volskwagen, Ford, Peugeot/Citroen, Fiat, etc.. They mostly produce small, medium/small cars and some pickups (unfortunately just a small percentage of the pieces are made in argentina).

I picked up one of the CAT rechargeable work lights that kctyphoon tipped us off about:
View media item 63691
Seems pretty ruggedly built and it's IP64 so it'll work when it's raining and I'm afraid to put my M18 flood out. The beam is a little more concentrated than I'd like but it seems to throw a good bit of light.

I guess I missed the original post about this light. What can you tell me about it. I found it on Amazon. Is there a place I could get it cheaper?

If you look through this thread I think it was said he picked it up at Costco. I looked at the web site but could not find it there, have not tried a store yet.

pictures from ebay ad that I bought, but I just bought 6 or 7 mac sockets in 1/4" drive. I have a set of older mac's that was either missing a few or had off brand replacements so I finally completed the set.
I feel kind of foolish spending that much to complete a set that wasn't really missing anything, but I feel better know they are all the same.

I think I am going to have to do some organizing and pick myself up a proper tool chest. I have outgrown what I have now and the one I am not using is a total piece of garbage (HF cheapo US General Black units). Might list it on CL for 75 bucks to see if I can get rid of it and at least free the space up.

Post a picture of the set/details. Mac used the same ratchet in the set for years, in fact still does. If I can't figure it out I'll ask my Mac guy.

I'll get a picture of the set when I get home tonight but this is pretty much identical

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mac-44-piec...99801f7&pid=100338&rk=1&rkt=8&sd=262605231507

http://www.ebay.com/itm/mac-tools-1...se-/262605231507?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368

I notice both sets have different ratchets. My set is likely from the 80s or early 90s.

Not a tool, but to clean up with after playing with tools... this stuff is way better than the Gojo at work. Any idea who makes this stuff for Mac?

Depends on the vintage you're looking for, but it will be a MR5K ratchet.

Here's the current listing for the SMM446BR set:

Most likely the Mac MR5. It's been the same for many years, but there have been updates/variations in the cover plate, etc.

They will probably be ok but live a short life, but then you will know enough to see if cheap works for you or you ought to buy a pro grade tool.
I picked up the air hammer for £13 today, which ought to work for the amount I need it for, I have a 19mm hex electric chisel for concrete breaking.
My store was out of air drills or I would have had one of those as well.
