Scored a old welder for free. The plan is to restore/repair it and build a cart for it. (and learn how to weld!)

Try vinyl wrapping. It's not as study as those guards but look good 2f15feecefccad39c68f071bcf54e5c4.jpg

I had considered it, have looked for a roll of the carbon vinyl in an inch wide or whatever it was, and I have a plotter to cut them exact if I bought a big roll, but wow is that stuff expensive.

Here's most of what I have obtained over the last couple months.

The oldest being that little orange bench vise and the newest being the extra long DBE wrenches made by KTC.

I Love the Vessel JIS screwdrivers and the M12 1/4" hex driver.

That old Stanley vise I picked up for $15 or $25 from an antique store and it has proved to be extremely useful.

I wish I had those KTC wrenches the other day when I replaced my shocks and U joints in the Tacoma.

The Tekton 3/8 set is great to grab and walk out to the driveway with instead of going back and forth into the garage where all my sockets are stored on Hansen organizers.

I'm still not sold on the Earthquake impacts. I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere close to what they advertise in torque. Maybe my compressor just cant keep up.

Lay down nice? Still sticking good? You just lay it and cut it?

Yes it went down good, some parts laying it down by my trim was a little tedious. But it was worth it. My wrap hasn't bubbled up or started to come off yet

After using the sparrows rakes, I think they are much nicer than the Southord starter set I started out with. I need a new city rake and it will be a sparrows.

I have used just about every brand of pick that is commercially available, along with a lot of homemade picks made for me by others in the community. For basic picks I like HPC, you really can't beat the price. Sparrows is a step up, and Peterson is the crown jewel.
I also have one of the first Sparrows pinning mats - they really have some good stuff.

Where did you get the KTC wrenches? How do you like them?

I just got them from Franks Tools this past Friday so I can't really comment on performance. I do really like their length though. I can tell I will be using them a lot. I bought the three in a set and purchased the 13x15 separately.

I still want to buy the Tekton set with ratcheting heads that also pivot but I'm running out of room in my tool box. I'm thinking of either adding the side cabinet to my HF 44 or just stashing most of my imperial wrenches/sockets in a small hand carried tool box since I only seem to use them every now and then.

Stopped by the local Lowes a few days ago, spent about $15 on this lot:

A small sharpening stone and pouch, by Smith's, regularly $4 half price for $2.

Energizer Vision HD head-mount LED spotlight with batteries, regularly $20 half price for $10, I needed this to replace an old Coleman-brand headlight with regular type bulbs that got corroded from the inside out from leaky batteries. This new replacement works REALLY good, a lot more light than the old incandescent bulbs could put out.

Loggerhead-brand Bionic wrench, 8" size, made in USA, regularly $15 on clearance for $3.75 ! Looks like a neat tool, would be good for a car's glovebox in case you need one wrench to handle a bunch of sizes. Probably not a "real" tool, but for under $4 I'll give it a try and see how well it works.

What did you pay for shipping? I had some stuff in my cart and was ready to checkout, but shipping was $25 for $85 worth of merchandise.

$13-$15 I think shipped to Virginia Beach from NH.

They got to my house Amazon Prime quick though.

It was shipped in a medium flat rate box. I only ordered the 4 wrenches.

I'm not used to paying shipping so I was caught off guard when I checked out but I understand and can't complain.

Picked up these goodies today, long 3/8" flex to replace the worn out chrome version with half the teeth that I have. And the small rechargeable light, I have a cheap one but it's about a foot long, works good but I'm always bumping into it and causing it to fall off whatever it's magnetized too.

My half inch drive sockets and ratchets have been lacking for a few decades, so I started correcting that with a set of Williams USA sockets and a few ratchets today.

While at the Milwaukee store near me I was hoping to check out there new impact but they didn't get it shipped in yet. Came home with this instead.

M12 Rover light 1000 lumens. Its fairly large and heavy but will work great for lighting up large areas. Picture fail, sorry

Trying out some of the Williams screw drivers based on the positive feedback they've gotten. If these work well for me, I will buy some other drives/sizes.

You'll love the Flex Head Ratchet. I never wanted to spend big money on Snap-On tools, but one day I got mad and hunted down the local truck and bought that exact ratchet. I use it everyday. It is my "go-to". Seems like it fits almost anywhere and the handle length is perfect.

Looks like S80, SL80 & SF80......? I have the SF80 and find it to be a perfect size 1/2" drive ratchet. I thought about the 25" ratchet but it just seemed like too much unless you were doing a bunch of underbody/suspension work with the vehicle on a lift and always had that swing room.

Very nice tools I must say.. Didn't MAC sttill makes those classic pear heads.. Have they increased tooth count on them? Last I remember I think they were 36 tooth..

The classic US Made MAC Pear head still only has 30 teeth after all of these years. However, MAC has the Axis line of pear head ratchets with 90 teeth, also US made.

Ordered these like 4 months ago and my dealer just got them in over the weekend. I figured they'd be back out of production by now.cb70267f393011be37fd90210097df71.jpg
