Picked up this gear wrench flex head metric set from napa for $50...already used them on my 4 runner lift. Also bought a few more of the napa brand Carlyle anti slip wrenches. Love these wrenches and think they are very underrated!

Ordered some sockets from Amazon at awesome prices; 1/4" 12mm & 3/8" 15mm.
Look legit to you? (I've never owned Stahlwille as of yet, but liking what I'm seeing).
Only thing in question is the chroming on the 3/8" 12pt deep-socket?

Stahlwille has a very matte chrome finish. Good luck on owning a set of their stuff, its prohibitively expensive. Like Snap On prices (or higher), but without the warranty.

$11.86 to my door for two new sockets :)
As far as warranty? It's lifetime.
Actually mailing it in and not having the convenience of a tool truck?... point taken, that's true.

The YJ manifold is seriously nicely made. I've really taken a liking to the SLP tools. And yes, the safety is staying on. :D

The german warranty seems to be at least worded differently. It states its for manufacturer defects.

Where as the USA ones seem to just be more broad lifetime warranty.

I'd be interested to see if for instance you accidentally split one of those sockets in a high torque situation, whether that would be covered or not.

I was reading a bit about stahlwille's USA warranty and how customer/users shipped back wrenches/ sockets/ etc. and never had an issue with an exchange for a new part. YMMV I suppose. I'm just a casual user who appreciates high quality tools :)

Stahlwille has top notch warranty.

they don't ask to much and just exchange.

not so much with gedore.

I heard some problems here with facom also. they won't exchange sockets anymore, because they use them with impact guns and they snap

MacInger...get ready to empty your wallet...GJ has that effect. Nice tools. You'll love that little magnetizer/demagnetizer. I have the same one but different brand name, and I can't stress how often I use it one way or the other for screwdrivers and picks.

Looks like you do leather as well???

Bought a couple of big (un)used 1 inch sockets for fun and decoration. The biggest is serving as a cellphone stand at work 80 euro's for them all. ( 2x 80mm, 65mm, 2x 63mm, 55mm , 2" 1/8)

Then I found a 3/4 inch ratchet set from facom. Used and dirty but in good condition. Needs cleaning. Also 2 extra sockets and but missing a larger one (replaced by a hazet one) only 125 euro37b8009e993919cfbeb42bf1756d7cf2.jpg6cbb7d77f3b55d487d432dfd0db3cf0f.jpg622508eabd2d3a0256c3412caf266e5c.jpgd3879c4d6a0d90c66c3901b6c8f7d34a.jpg

Every engineer/designer passing by my desk also wants to see it...

Nice big sockets, I paid around that for the 3 Facom 1" drive sockets I have and thought I did well, that step down is a standard design feature for European sockets, you get it even in the smaller drive sizes usually. It really does save a lot of metal in the big stuff though.

The crockpot parts washer worked great.
I used 50/50 pinesol and water.
Left the parts in on high for an hour or two, then brushed with a paint brush, then another hour of soaking and a rinse in hot water to remove any residue.

For aluminum parts they come out of the water rinse and just have to dry.
Steel parts I give a spray with wd40 or else they flash rust.

I also picked up a small colander at the dollar store to clean bolts and small parts.

Got my delivery of SK flex Pro-G and Pittsburgh flex head metric ratcheting wrenches, and metric and SAE Tekton wrenches for the car from Amazon. It's hard to get tools delivered to my base in Germany and Amazon is about the only way. My sister had to mail the HF ratcheting wrenches, plus a 1/4" composite Ratchet, mini pick and probe sets. Shipping adds up even though is sent through the US Postal Service. Sears, HD, and HF won't ship to APO addresses.

I have to commend Tekton's customer service as they are bending over backwards to send me their 1/2 and 3/8 SAE and metric Impact Socket set with free shipping. I tried to get Sears to send me the discounted Ball Bearing Intermediate Chest that is on sale for $70 but they won't. Shows who values their customers, especially when Amazon is able to mail the same item but it costs $95 and isn't worth it.

Really nice work, Mac!

I was asking my Snap On guy about wrench organizers today...he said he sells a lot of these Blue Point branded ones, so I grabbed one to try. It was about $12-13.

Works well, and fits in a KRL 2" drawer. They sell forward and reverse to save space.

I googled it and found the OEM is protoco. Buying a single on Amazon is the same price, but if you buy multiples online you can save a couple of dollars.

Pulled the trigger on a couple goodies I've been eyeing for a long time. Snap-on non-marring pry tools and a Mac ratcheting brake caliper press.b52eddaff748f2e572b8695cb1c550e4.jpgcfdd1cd796facb9fcef0a73204e859c3.jpg

A few new items.

Snap On techangle 3/8 torque wrench, engine hoist, HF socket caps just in case, HF 12 point 3/8 sockets just because I'm curious how they work, and the HF wobble extensions for a junk yard tool box.

Got a new impact gun today. It is awesome. We've had a disc harrow that sat for years with two bad wheels. Tried remoting the lugs with a breaker bar some time ago with no luck. Just headed over and popped them off in about half a second each.

So in addition the the impact you could say we got a new to us disc harrow out of the deal!
