Hi,

Why do you need short wrenches in such big sizes?

Thanks, Indexmill.
When you have a 24mm fastener in a tight spot and you can only get a sixth of a turn at a time with a huge 24mm wrench, it's nice to be able to break it lose then run it out the rest of the way with a stubby. Hydraulic hoses is one of the main things I've needed one of these for. I've also used a crowfoot as a stubby in above situation, unfortunately they don't make 1 1/2" stubby wrenches lol.

Thanks for helping explain. BMW's use large fasteners in some odd places, these wrenches should be handy in those situations.

Got these in the mail not long ago. Carlyle 1/2" and 3/8" ratchets, American made Blackhawk 3/4 wrench for $4.39 and of course my Sk socket of the month gig with a hat and pocket screwdriver thrown in. b242cb4354db3163d8956357540966ec.jpg

This is the only area where el-cheapo-deluxe **** wrenches come in handy -- buy regular combo wrenches up to 2" for the most common hydraulic hoses and go to town on the chop saw making them into stubbies!...though most of the HF large wrenches I bought as a newbie shortened themselves when I attempted to use them to break loose that -20 hose!:lol_hitti

The city of the broken bell.
Vise is already gone. My snap on dealer bought it for his home shop. Was part of the deal on the leftover rollcab.

Apparently end of the year on tool boxes is like cars.. write them off. Ok. The color wasn’t my first, 2nd or third choice... the long legs (drawers) and most importantly, price is what won my heart over

Too bad my dealer can't get any in Cranberry at "take-my-money-now" prices.

Yep, I have up to 1 1/4" so far cut about 3 in long, eventually I'll get tired enough of my crappy set of big wrenches to cut them down as well

These arrived today. Not really mine (for long anyway). Christmas present for my cousin.

Got this little snappy knife made by kershaw from my barber for free ! His wife works there and he gets killer deals ! A little smaller than my edc kershaw but I like this one because it has a lock on it and it has the speed safe flip out feature as well !

I have several of those Proto wrenches that I also replaced gearwrenches with (wanted to get rid of the chinesium from my tool box). Unfortunately I've had numerous problems with the 12mm size, and had to warranty replace it twice now after very little light use. Real shame since its USA made, cost a ton (compared to competitors).

Haven't had any issues with my SK X frames, or my old gearwrenches (but china).

Hope you have better luck.

I ran across your review in a few threads. Maybe it's just a fluke with the 12mm. I'll abuse it and find out how it holds up though. I wouldn't mind trying the x frames but with them not being reversible killed that choice for the time being.

What is the part number for the adapter set?
It's Jham4s. The 1/4" bit a adapter is pretty hard to seat in the proto 10mm in the picture but that may have something to do with it being a splined wrench. The other adapters work great.

Those are fantastic head phones. They don't have a lot of bass like all the kids want, but they make classical music extremely enjoyable.

Free is pretty dang awesome!! That's what I carry all the time and have for a good long while! IMO, small enough to carry anywhere and just enough knife to be worth having around. I bought mine for about half the SO price of a knife website.

My local sears hometown still has a a couple dozen screwdrivers and scratch awls in a box for $1.88 so I grabbed a few for gifts, along with one of the last usa made wrenches in the store. Ball end torx to try out from a local bolt supplier73a340eaa98ac705e3defe7904186459.jpg

Nice, my red and black ones were gifts. I think I paid around $100 for the orange one. Love all 3!c30573c9d062d59197b695756c3c1240.jpg

A visit from my snap on dealer got me a few wrenches, Red ratcheting screwdriver and a digital LCD circuit tester for 6 & 12 volts.

Nothing too impressive considering they are going into a twenty year old box but I was happy

Hi, what is protector/boot part number and do you possibly know if orange one is available?
Regargs
Mark

I'll have to check on Monday when I'm at work for a part #. My driver only had red and I didn't ask if other colors were available but I'll try to remember to ask next time I see him.

AstA wrenches off ebay. Taiwan made. Very pretty and difficult to picture. Not sure about ergonomics though. Box ends have sharp(ish) edges, not comfortable in your palm when you need to pull them hard.

Just got this Delta 36-725 Table Saw. I got it at Lowes. They accept competitors coupons and I used my 25% coupon from Harbor Freight.

How'd you do that?

From Lowe's website:

"Lowe’s doesn’t match competitors' coupons."

I have seen a lot of posts on line about them matching at different stores. I have two Lowes stores close to me. I went to the first and the pretty much laughed me out of the store. The second said they would, but only on tools and like the coupon says "only one item" . I was saving up and had the cash!
