Almost bought the Capri wrenches from Amazon. What's your impression of them? Most of the thin wrenches I've seen are die cut stamped Chinesium junk. The Capri appear to be substantially better in not only the photos but the reviews on them, by entire orders of magnitude. Don't have a pressing need for the thinness, it was the attractive price for a set of open end without size skips.

Edit:
Those ultra-thin look like they'd be ideal as cone wrenches for use on bicycles. Might also work well as a pedal wrench. Both require thinner than normal wrenches, especially the hub cones.

I had the same impression and now that I’ve held them there is no doubt they are an order of magnitude better. True forged steel with a great chrome job. I haven’t had occasion to really yank on them yet so can’t really comment on strength but they are much better than the Indian set of stamped junk they are replacing.

For the price they absolutely can’t be beat.

Stopped at home depot today to pick up a new pair of 430's my work set grew legs so I brought in my pair from home. Couldn't pass up on the griplock set. The 430s are the perfect size to me. I carry them everyday at work, use them for picking up hot metal, for opening doors held on with large nuts and more often then I like to admit backing up the bolt for my 10 inch crescent when I don't feel like walking back to the shop for a proper wrench.

I've been beating myself up splitting wood with a forest axe and this past weekend I finally decided to buy a splitting maul. Holy cow, what a difference the proper tool makes!

The beasty 'Isocore" Fiskars. If you find it a little cumbersome try their X27 splitting axe. Very cheap in the states and effective. Or even take a look at the Husqvarna S2800 which is a composite splitting axe too. If you have the strength to swing the isocore they do hit & split hard. You can also use the other side to pound wedges and stuff which you can't do with the X27.

They are a very new product. Perhaps they are guaging demand for them before they commit to an SAE set. They have SAE in their combination wrenches both ratcheting and standard also hex bit sockets so I would expect them in the thin configuration as long as they aren't a complete market flop.

What do you work on that needs thin SAE?

picked up a milwaukee 2767 impact, tekton impact extensions, and tekton deep sockets in sae and metric.

I also got this roller from a buddy for $100. I looked it up and it looks like matco only makes in a a one drawer and someone added a second drawer to it?

Awesome. I got a good deal on it nobody wanted the green one. Ended up getting the kit for 50 dollars more than the comparable Milwaukee kit, but I got 2 batteries instead of 1 hehe. You’ll like it so far I’m enjoying it.

I've been very tempted by their 5" or 6" pliers wrench! Not much in the need for pipe wrench type pliers, and have several Stillson, but if I were, these would be at the top of the list of Usual Suspects. I've heard excellent things about Knipex from the few I know that have them.

Anyone ever try this light from Walmart? Full aluminum body, 100 lumens, 2 aaa batteries. Works great and for $5 I can't complain. It will be used at my work. I can't use my fancy streamlights at work because tools tend to walk off a lot and I'd be devastated if I lost one of the streamlights.

Metabo was $310 our the door. Over the course of a year or so in replacements I spend that much on Dewalt or Makita so I thought I’d try something different. Expensive as hell but from what I’ve heard well worth it.

I just got the Milwaukee 2767 for my 1 ton dually It is a beast.
Did the axle hubs and front tires on a 1/2 ton GMC lug nuts 110 ft lbs and axle hubs 170 it was like they were not even torqued on.
I am sure it will not have a problem with ball joint and axle nuts on the 1 ton either.

I got mine a few weeks ago. I really only use it with the CTLAR761 light -- makes it sooooo much more useable.

Just bought 2 inspection lights this afternoon, the new Milwaukee 100 lumen $19 and a Coast 90 lumen $10. It's my second Milwaukee and I absolutely love the color of the light and the pattern. I highly recommend it. The coast is bright but the color is too white and the beam is very focused. I've been looking at the streamlight as well but I have a hard time believing that I'd be happier with it than the Milwaukee.
Someone sway me to streamlight, I could use another light or two.

I have 2 streamlights I use for my home shop and love them. At work tho they buy us all of our tools but can't seem to buy us flashlights. I didn't want to spend my own money for tools at work which tend to get lost or taken by the other industrial mechanics so thAt is why I bought the Walmart light. Very impressed with it for $5

Just picked up a Snap on 3/4" impact socket set, 3/4" - 2-1/4" for $200 on CL. Newer sockets at that in great shape.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a good 3/4" impact set for a few years now.

Seriously. I'm surprised it took so long to find a set. I beat the bushes pretty hard and I know how to look and I hit the swap meets quite often. Heavy equipment stuff usually goes for pretty cheap and I was surprised this set is so uncommon. The dude I got them from no longer wrenches but welds. I actually thought I would end up finding a Proto set first but that didn't even happen.

So now I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a deep set and for a metric set.
