Nice, you will enjoy those for many years to come. Got 22 years on my 6mm-24mm set. Looks like yours goes up a few more sizes? Ho many in the set and how much does that cost today?

Those composite ratchets are great, strong as anything and very smooth. Better (or atleast as good) as ratchets 5x the price.

I have two each of the HF 1/4,3/8, and 1/2 inch ratchets like that. I use them all the time and I like them.
It's just that al the "Tekton is great" and all the "Harbor Freight is junk" I just had to mention that.

Finally got to stop in at Cripe to pick up an online order after recently moving (and working) just down the road. Got the full tour from Deb over my lunch break and got to see their operation in the main shipping building. No joke how packed with good stuff they are. Met Bree for a minute on my way out, good to put a face to the voice/emails over the years. This could be dangerous with the new job, but already been turning my coworkers on to them.

I only needed a Vacuum/Fuel pressure gauge after breaking my Sears one that's older than I am. Ended up with another oil filter strap wrench, Armstrong 3/8" locking extension, KD hose pinch pliers, and Carquest boxed Alemite 555-E grease gun.

Also got back to work and got a kick out of my coworker's purchase from the Matco truck for double the cost.

Made in Canada, wonder how old it is.

not a snap-on nerd but many snappie tools have a date code on them - i see it on my ratchets and wrenches. it's usually a number in a unique font. google "snapon date code"...

Could be the original 11mm walked off the job and a 12-pt was the available replacement.

I've got a couple one-off set replacements.

Possibly, i cant see any date markings on it, it has the text as shown then the markings "JH" stamped on it in a few places.

Just got this used, in excellent condition, Lufkin X46X, with double extensions, one on each end. This model has been discontinued for some time. You can still get an X46 with one extension on one end.

What is the extension for?
Allows interior measurements. Put one end on one wall or box side and open the rule until it's less than one leg from the other side. Slide out the extension and add that to the length shown on the rule itself, and Bob's your uncle, you have the distance between the two surfaces. Why extensions on both ends? Been thinking about it and all I can figure at this point is convenience. Doesn't matter which end you start with.

Decided to give Tekton a try.

I think they are great. They seem to be a little harder than Sunex so the drive end takes longer to start wallowing out. When it does they send you a new one with a quick phone call or email.

Pardon the thumbs, my phorobucker is being screwy. Picked up this homack box loaded with tools lots of craftsman, some snap on, Industo, sk.

The sk (guessing Williams made) ratchet will be a restoration project for me as it is bound up pretty bad.

I've been wanting a metal box like this for awhile to make my "honey do" home repair tool box. Price is right for sure. Time to fill it up.

Not bad for $20.

Yep that's a Williams ratchet. Seems to be a common brand on the ships my dad worked on as a merchant marine. I now have quite a few Williams tools...
