Finally got me a Dewalt 899 impact and Mac protective boots for it (thanks to tips here in these forums)

FYI, that's Mac #PBBWP15 ($18) on the impact and #PBMB200 ($9) on a Dewalt 5Ah battery (sold to fit Mac's MBR204 which is a Dewalt 4Ah with rubber bumpers) and the Dewalt 883 has #PBMB201 ($8) on a 2Ah battery.

Traded my KRL 7023 (red one on the right) for a limited edition teal and all black trim EPIQ 68, model KETN682, with the 3 long drawers. Bed liner top and cover are on order. The deal was just too good to pass up. There is something about these EPIQs. Simply put, they’re in a league of their own. Will definitely miss my KRL but I’m sure it won’t take long to adjust to the behemoth. Ain’t it crazy? I walk into the truck looking for a new blow gun. I walk out with a new box. :D

^ on paper, i would be a little iffy about that color combination, but I really like that teal with the black trim!

After going through the Milwaukee vs Snap On/grip on locking pliers thread, I wanted to give the grip on ones a try. I get a nice discount through MSC and they carry the Proto branded grip on ones, so I grabbed a set of the sheet metal pliers as I don't have a big need for the standard curved jaw locking pliers, and my current sheet metal pliers are some no name junk set. First impressions are im really impressed with them, sturdy and nice mechanical action and the quick release lever is a nice feature, should get to play with them this weekend. based on the feel of these, i'll probably buy some of the c clamp welding locking pliers from them as well.

To be honest, I would be too. But once I saw it in front of me, I knew I had to have it. No picture could ever do it justice. Besides, I like being different. I’ve never seen anybody with a box that color. Also, I’m born and raised in Miami. I grew up a Florida Marlins fan since the inception of the organization. It just made sense. All I need is a huge old school Marlins logo magnet to adorn the side of the box. Cheers bud!

Nice pliers BTW. Much rather have those over the Vice Grips.

My first decent purchase in a couple of years. Let’s see if I can get this non-photobucket site to post.

I've been having issues with Imgur working on this site, for whatever reason. Works fine on several other forums. I pretty much only use it for Reddit now.

For forums like Garage Journal, I recommend flickr. Retains high quality photos and you get 1TB free. Btw, you need to copy the link from the BBCode, not just the direct link.

I picked up a Snap-on fractional 4-way angle wrench set for plumbing fittings.

I also picked up a Snap-on lock and key-matched the Craftsman toolbox I inherited from my grandfather.

How ironic that I would come across this post. Just yesterday I saw this video posted on another forum on how Channel Lock tools are made. I was very impressed by it. This made me to contemplate on starting a small collection of Channel Lock tools myself! :pimpflash

Man I had knipex in the cart and was kind of excited. The more I walked around I kept askin myself has the channelocks ever let me down? For what I do, they are good value. I was getting wrapped up in the marketing or forum hype. I like blue handles better anyway.

I hear ya!

My main things in what I look for in a tool is basically a combination of three things......"Quality, Durability & Reliability".

Yes that's important too me, regardless of what anyone else may say.

I don't mind paying $ for high end tools because of those three factors stated above. That's really what I'm paying for, definitely not the name brand. I always inquire from the manufacturer where exactly their tools are made at and either they tell me or tell to check out their videos on how their tools are made.

As for where the tool(s) is actually made...well as long as it's not China, India or Southeast Asia, etc......my collection of go to, good tools is a mixture made here in the U.S.A...from Switzerland....from Japan...from Germany and from Italy.

Yes I do have a few tools that say made in China but those tools only get used sparingly when the job it not real important, etc.

My forray into Japanese tools has been pleasant. Mostly high precision electronic measuring equipment. I admit that I have been a made in America junky since forever but German, Japanese, Swiss are all on par. If I can go MiA I do try to but im not going to pass up a good tool made elsewhere anymore. Chinese pocket knives have came a long way. I just know I have went cheap with bits and what not in the past. Chinese metal is janky. Some good some knuckle bustingly bad.

I broke a torx and an Allen on the same day, that resulted in an Amazon order of some Whia and then I picked up some Bondhus Allens when I went into northern tool for a brass hammer. I also picked up a couple Wilton hammers recently. 35ba3af3645a7446162d5208473538e8.jpgd6abdbed9065f54835e392db7b17e9b6.jpgefdb5c8a2e3d726c5bf2ab7fdeab8dec.jpgc7134d1e4aaaaf10b72023adeabea40d.jpg

Picked these up as they just dropped $50 at Lowe's. Was going to wait for the brushless combo kit, but for what these are going to be used for brushed is fine.

They didn't have the 2 speed driver or I may have gotten that too.

Picked-up a 17' Little Giant ladder today. I can't get to the ladder for a pic, so here's a pick of the cardboard wrapping ad.
