On those Knipex circlip pliers. They make them with two different joints in the same sizes and types. I see that you have some of each. Is the joint the only difference?

Seth
I find the tips much sturdier on the "precision" type with the screw pivot. They're left mostly as-forged instead of ground smooth, but that's just cosmetic. They look fine and work a lot better. Imo, they're the ones to get.

Electric Xmaxx. I had 3.3 gas Tmaxx/s years ago. this thing is wicked so far. I really should have sold it... bc its going to be another expensive hobby. hahaha. I've never had electrics. Dealer said his cost as 999... normal Xmaxx trucks are 8-900 then you have to buy the batteries and charger setup.. seen a few sold for 1200ish on eBay and FB.... but I never win anything so.... If I can figure out how to run it and video it, I will lol

Do what I did with mine - pull the body, the rear lift gate and front bumper off and store them, then order all stock Traxxas parts (A-Main hobbies is best / most likely to have everything) and then you can bash the heck out of it and not trash the collectible / semi-valuable Snappy gear. Second pic shows the stock body I put on X#1 with second stock body painted and ready for the tool van X.

I don't know, I just figured it was standard Traxxas programming in the ESC and could just imagine it doing the dying turtle dance on it's back with that body on!LOL! That programming may actually not be in there since that ESC is non-standard what with the power lead added to run the LED's.

I needed some better wire stripper/crimpers and found these on the Snapon truck. These are bulletproof.

My new tools for the week: some hammers and pry bars I picked up at Lowes on clearance, $24 total. And my M18 Fuel 7-1/4 circular saw I got reconditioned from CPO Outlets for $100 off the new price. Not sure it was used at all, popped a Diablo blade on it and everything is square and true. Quiet saw with tons of power.

got a few things from McMaster:
The 5/64 L keys are for Lori deadbolts, the T handle is for Sargent padlocks and the WB padlock is just because I love brass :)

Got this Milwaukee metric wrench set from home depot online with free ship to store for $29.97 which is about half of what other vendors want.

The wrenches are different. Nice chrome, large ink filled size marking on both sides at each end, nicely balanced with the I Beam fuller providing a nice place for your thumb. anti slip open end ala Carlyle type, standard length, Taiwan made.

I'm curious to hear how you like them after using them a bit.

New Ideal USA made 12 in 1. The quality puts the current Kleins to shame. IMG_7968.jpgIMG_7969.jpg

I picked up the same set after seeing your post in the Hot Deals fourm. They are interesting, kinda short in the larger sizes, and I wish that set had a 19mm. They do remind me of the Facom 440s, and the "Milwaukee" script on the side looks cool...they look like $$ wrenches.

The Plews gun I bought in the 90s gave me fits the other day, and I could only get half the job done. Couldn't find a USA made unit; everything was made in India or China. This little fella came from the land down under, and if it works half as good as it looks and feels, I will be thrilled.

Got a chance to use this yesterday. Fantastic. But be forewarned...you need to adjust the grease coupler to loosen it. I stuck it on a grease fitting and couldn't get it off. It was comical. I pulled and pulled and it laughed at me. Problem was, it was in a tight space. I tried to pry it off with a screwdriver. It continued laughing at me. I eventually wiggled a pair of needle nose pliers down there and loosened it a few turns and it slid off as nature intended.

A+ from me.

My tool haul:

What ever you do, do not drop that Snap-on light. They shatter. I've busted 2-3 of them. They're nice lights until you drop them. Not durable enough for shop use. They have come out with an aluminum housed one now. I have one on order to give it a try. We'll see.

Are those the Blackhawk long reach nose pliers that are actually Proto for sale on eBay? :)

Yup. For $30.

And this thread gets me again. Immediately after reading that $30 disappeared from my account. :pimpflash

Well, got a small project I'm starting on so started grabbing a few things ...

tablesawblades-pivot-rightangleadapter-forstnerbitset.jpg

Some Dewalt/Irwin table saw blades, Dewalt right angle and pivot impact adapters, and a 7pc Craftsman titanium forstner bit set.

Out shopping again with the wife. So naturally I had to pick up a few things at each stop while she's looking around for herself.

1st stop: HF....5/8x100 ft. garden hose, hose quick coupler set. 3 hose nozzles (2 shown), magnetic paper towel holder, scissors, shop duster brush, and free AAA batteries. Of course everything purchased with coupons and a 20% off coupon. (She wanted to stop at HF for the scissors)

2nd stop: Walmart....a #2 and flat Hyper Tough magnetic screw drivers, #2 and flat Stanley demo screw drivers, Hyper Tough 25" pry bar. (She got a couple T-shirts)
