Got these over the weekend for $20. These are about an inch longer than my other ones. :bounce:

I bought a pair of these from Menards and was surprised at how quickly I bent them. I was simply pulling on a cotter pin and later discovered that the tip was bent upwards, which totally made the needlenose pliers useless after that. I replaced them with a snapon set and must say that they are holding up much better.

I don't know why people think knipex needle nose are any good, I had two pairs bend on me and got rid of them. Knipex has great slip joint pliers, cutters, and specialty pliers, but needle nose are not something I could ever recommend.

The footprint is way too small for my liking. It needs to be larger and NOT cast aluminum, which isn't strong enough.

Are you talking about the bottom base of the jack or the tip where it would meet the car?

That was kinda my thinking when I saw the Sunex jack/stands combo posted before. I suspect they are the same with a 6"x7.5" base.

FWIW Sunex does have a similar-looking set of 22 ton steel jackstands with a 10" base for ~$140 that have been on my 'I want' list for a little while now. I think they might be made by Shin-Fu, or at least same specs and look like them to me, which I believe are also sold under OTC, ATD, and Omega brands, but I usually can find the Sunex ones priced a little lower.

Anywho, picked up a few things from Sears today. I had first stopped by the hardware store and a Dollar General just looking for a couple 5gal buckets (only places in town). The HS didn't have one and DG wanted ~$8ea which seemed a little high to me, plus they seemed a little flimsier than normal, which is typical for dollar store ****.

Then I recalled seeing these Craftsman buckets on this forum (remembered them because I like the logos on them) so while standing in the aisle at DG looked them up on my phone. Sears wanted $4 each and I apparently had another $11 in 'FREECASH' available which made a trio of them ~$1 +tax. That was all the incentive I needed to head out of there and make the trip to Sears instead, BUT, wouldn't you know it, on the same page they also 'suggested' a Craftsman 56 pocket bucket bag to go with them that I know I can put to good use, so yeah, they got me for another $18 for it.

Those bucket organizers are awesome. When I worked as a structural welder at a shipyard, that's what we all used. Perfect size for a tube of rods, chipping hammer, grinder, some plies/clamps, oxy torch/nozzles, etc.

Yeah I had one years ago slam full of tools that I stupidly forgot on a jobsite. Didn't even get a mile down the road before I remembered it and turned around but it had already grown legs and walked off. Been meaning to get another for a while now but it's still a bit of a sore spot for me.

US Jack 6 ton stands. Put them to use tonight rotating tires on my Xterra, only had to go up one notch to clear the 35's off the driveway. These things are beautiful!IMG_20180516_185500.jpgIMG_20180516_192125.jpg

Lol, I just picked up a couple of these buckets the other day as well, pretty much clearance them out. Logos look nice too, probably made by the same folks that make the buckets for HD and Lowes

Wamsutta - You may have to go three questions deep at your local AA. When I bought mine ... First the worker told me that the sale was over and removed all the signs, then he told me that he could check prices after I pressed him, then he told me no flex sockets in stock, then - after I showed him the online inventory for the store and discounted price listed... Then he 'found' what I was looking for behind some other items.

I suspect they are buying them up for resale,or just completely incompetent.

Easy now, some of us parts guys know what we are doing. And we don't make conspiracy theories concerning what type of socket rails Gearwrench is using now, lol. Seriously, I have 4-5 different sets in the store and some have internal clips, some external clips. My guess is just a running change on their part.

This came today after a loooong wait

I could never afford or justify something like that box. But it is by FAR the prettiest tool box I have ever seen... Not only the color... (I would have went different)... but that layout is beautiful.

I actually went to their site and "Built a box for giggles... had a hutch and sides... custom drawers"... $34,000.00
