Never thought I would purchase something from Harley Davidson for my 911, but never say never! They make the lowest profile, high capacity oil drain pan I could find. (My 911 holds about 9 quarts of oil) This way, I don't have to lift the car for oil changes.

I've got to ask, as shallow as that pan appears, will the oil overflow before it makes it down the drain hole? Also is there enough overall capacity for (9) quarts?

Not 100% sure on the first question. I'll probably use a small funnel in conjunction with the pan to prevent it from pouring over the sides.

Yes, it holds 10 quarts.

Did you not get them at 30 dollars or did they use to be cheaper? I'm kicking myself for not buying a second pair at that price point :(

they bumped up to $35 like a week ago

i first added them to my ebay watch list at $25 thinking "i might buy these"

I bet it holds more than it seems without overflowing. The lack of depth is made up for in both length and width.

I have that pan for my bike. Typical HD expensive but is perfect for the bike. Make sure you pull the vent plug in the corner or it will burp oil everywhere.

Thanks for the tip about the burping!

I paid $26 from HD online. Wasn't too expensive!

So how much was it on ebay?

Seriously though, what's the tonnage on that arbor press? It looks huge!

They are WAY overpriced on ebay. Those fools list them for $2500 and up on ebay (usually used machinery dealers) and I watch them sit for years without selling.
As for the press, its a Dake #4. 12 tons. Weighs 1350lbs. They also make a 15 ton #5, and decades back, they even made a 25 ton #6 which made my #4 look like a toy. I just love these arbor presses, and they are very useful in the shop too.

I thought i was going to have a new cheap bead roller to show off, instead Eastwood sent me a set of English wheel anvils along with the dies that I ordered. Called them and they are sending out what I ordered today but are shipping it ground, and sending me the shipping label to send back the anvils. My first time ordering from them, they took care of the problem and I know the warehouse/ order pickers can mess up, but still not the greatest first impression.

Written on the side of the box it was shipped in

Let's us know how well it works, the shape alone would allow easy storage as long as it doesn't leak when vertical.

So I tested it with some water today:

  1. Using a hose, the pan takes a considerable amount of volume & water pressure before the water goes over the side. Considering the higher viscocity of the oil, and fact it will just be gravity fed, I don't expect to have any issues with the oil pouring over. I'll know for sure this weekend though.
  2. I used my Milwaukee rotary tool to make the drain hole larger. It's restricted in case you drop a nut or bolt, but the drain hole is so large that it wouldn't be difficult to fish out anything you dropped. This helped fluids drain into the pan much faster.
  3. With the container filled absolutely to the trim, none of the three plugs drained. I carried it around, banged it, and shook it; no drop of oil leaked. Good quality o-ring and gasket used, especially on the large drain plug. Hand placement and drain plug orientation is well thought out. Very easy to drain without spilling.

Got some goodies this week.

Knipex Chrome Combination Pliers. Kind of a duplicate, but the price was too good to pass up.

Been enjoying my new wrench sets. Long pattern sk 6 point and wrightgrip 12 points. Love the length of the sk wrenches in the smaller sizes. That was my biggest complaint with my usa rps. It was less of an issue with the larger sizes. Still love my rps but they are outclassed here.20180523_214722.jpg20180523_214831.jpg

Snap On brake adjuster, because using a screwdriver *****, and a Mayhew USA made "Shake and break". I have an upcoming project this should be the ticket for.

Shake/n/break is nice, but I often have to use a bearing splitter and the press to get the socket off the tool after my CP beats it on for 5min.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered a socket specifically for this task, as its an unusual size and configuration (12 point 14mm). Since there's no retention device on this tool, and this is probably going to be its only purpose, I'd call the socket getting jammed on there a feature! :bounce:

Didn't really need the 1/4" one, but for 37 dollars...then you get the tray I figured why not

Also was in getting coolant to do my radiator swap and noticed powertorque ratchets made in Taiwan at orileys. Any good?
