I’m still lost about these “3d printers”
Do they make these items from quality plastic or what?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Saying a 3d printer uses plastic, is a lot like saying air planes are made from metal. You have various plastics that have their own characteristics that make them suited for a specific application. You also have very different types of printers that use different technologies: http://3dinsider.com/3d-printer-types/

Most hobbyists will use what's called an FDM printer, or Fused Deposition Modeling. The prints I've shown here are printed on an Ultimaker 3+, which is an FDM printer. I've use it to print parts made from PLA (the most common material used by hobbiest), ABS, Copolyester, carbon fiber impregnated PLA, TPU (thermplastic polyurethane), and a few others. So to answer your question about quality plastic...yes. Industrial printers are also able to print a lot more than just plastic. Stainless, inconel, titanium, aluminum, etc. can all be 3d printed.

The printer I use at work has been extremely useful and has paid for itself many times. From various machine tooling fixtures, functional prototypes, models for engineering reviews, etc, it has been an extremely useful tool. It's a technology that will change how things are designed and manufactured. Here's a video on Koenigsegg's turbo charger; internal flow paths can now be optimized since traditional manufacturing methods are no longer a constraint.

Pick up some Williams USA made 3/8” 5.5mm - 24mm shallow sockets and the 3/8” 1/4” - 1” shallow set. Very nice sockets and look almost identical to my Snap-on deeps.

Just a little something. But the grease was enough to look like I
was working on my truck. Maybe because of the black oxide? Who knows.

I’m a multitool nut and have tried every single tool Leatherman offers and most of what has ever been made by them and I have to say after years and years of trying new tools and carrying virtually everything the Surge is the tool I have settled on and is now in my pocket each and every day. Great pick!

Bought a few other things but they've already gotten used so I didn't feel like getting them out for a pic, also waiting on an empire level, but somehow amazon manages to rarely get things to me in the two day prime window so its not here yet...

Tekton USA screwdriver set (12 piece on amazon, 20 dollars!)

Milwaukee Pex cutter (20 dollars after an ebay coupon)

Alligators off sears (11 dollars in freecash I think put them around 13 dollars!)

Genius 16 and 18mm impacts (5.49 each add on @ amazon)

I actually snagged these off eBay. Zoro lists the same set for $199. I was going to get the 10 piece set (but not reversible) for $140, and use a 20% off coupon, but got lucky with this for about the same price. If these work out I'll spring for the SAE set. Was going to have to warranty the 10mm Gearwrench for a 3rd time...no thanks.

57f822e8dc11a0960ed6826c67318da5.jpg yay! My SK xframe ratcheting wrenches came in. For some reason my 9mm is either not engraved enough or the chrome is too thick. Only half the logo is visible

The chrome ones I have are made in Dallas. I have heard mixed reviews on the Taiwan ones, I have the chrome ones and think they are great, they do have more back drag than my snap on ones do. The thing that makes me mad is that the Taiwan sets have much larger sizes available than the USA sets do. :headscrat

Apparently now they do make chrome ones in Taiwan, I am willing to bet they are not the same style as the USA made ones.
