Recieved the 4 piece Gearwrench 120XP ratchet set today along with a Lang disc brake spreader. Last brake job I did, I couldn't find my c clamp that I usually use and had to resort to large channelllocks.c4a53613a6ee02a1b269610510056f27.jpg

Flea market find. This thing has some power. I took it apart and lubed everything. 1ac5aa87b8d4257ae0d8a7f0178bf2a4.jpg

Gearwrench ratchets have been great for me,

Never seen that type of piston compressor before, i use the standard 2 plate design;

Universal-Disc-Brake-Caliper-Piston-Spreader-Tool-Piston-Pad-Spreader-Auto-Car-Caliper.jpg_640x640.jpg

The one i have has a 3/8 slot cut into the top, i run the piston in with my impact, quickest way i've found to do it.

I used that exact die grinder for nearly 20 years when I was wrenching daily in the industrial maintenance field. It never failed me and now my son has it in his toolbox and uses it quite a lot as well.

I must admit though, that little trigger lock was gone as soon as I took it out of the box.

Picked up a few things yesterday.

A few more sockets to fill in the spaces on the Hansen socket trays in my box at work.

I found a pair of Dewalt 25' tape measures at Home Depot for $11.23 and only one set left. I ordered it online in the morning but got a call later telling they couldn't find it.

Since I had to go over anyways, so l looked around and found this Stanley Fat Max set, 25 & 16 footers. I went to the service counter to price check. They showed $14.97. The girl then asked if I was the had ordered the other set. I told yes I was and asked if she price match the other set. She said she would do one better and knocked off ten bucks....made me happy.

You got a 25' and a 16' fatmax for $5? Am I reading that right?

If that's correct, seeing as I just ordered a 25' for $17 and it's not here yet...

... let me be the first to say ... 'You ****!' :p

Actually, $4.28 with tax.

EDIT: you might want to search Fat Max on HD's website. They list a 2 pack of 25' Fat Max tapes for just under $15.

I’m going to remove it since the tool pushes the little button out so if I touch the tool with the trigger lock activated it still spins the tool. So the lock isn’t working.

That Lang set is identical to the SO one and a fraction of the price. Good buy!

Just got these. The sander/polisher kit with XC battery is only $169 on Amazon. The metric Tekton nut drivers are made here in the USA.

So this happen as soon as I hung it on the rack. Called hje they will send me a new one.DSC_0316.jpg

Ouch! I bought the Craftsman version of that set and this happened, but you got me beat. Many others here seem to like those Wilde prybars but I've not been too impressed with them. At least they are 'Made in USA' and can be had pretty cheap.

Anywho, here's what's new with me. ...

Carquest,

Is that Astro Pneumatic Flank Bite Damaged Fastener socket set shallow or semi-deep?

If it's shallow, can a car's brake bleeder screw be loosened with 1 of the smaller sockets?

Thanks,

Dave
