No need to register any tool or battery w/ Milwaukee for warranty. Either you keep the receipt or they go off the date code on the serial number. If it’s old stock (you bought this year and has a older date code) then keep the receipt to get the full 5/3/2 years.

The EU is different unfortunately,

The standard warranty is 12 months, you need to register the tool online within 30 days of purchase to extend it to 3 years.

This showed up yesterday! It was a bday/house warming gift to myself since construction finished just in time that we closed on our new house on my birthday so while I was sitting in the parking lot 15 minutes after closing I placed my order!

Can someone tell me if this MAC hex bit sockets set is Taiwan made? They do not have USA or any other country's name stamped on them. 1/2" drive 80efdb6b53bdc3e265f1a359a6d20a7c.jpg

All the ones MAC sells in plastic cases are made in Taiwan. USA come in the metal trays and the sets aren't nearly as complete.

Received this today, seems pretty good. Already used it, it's louder than my die grinder.

Thanks, I suspected. But the quality of the pressed fit and straightness of the drivers are impressive. I've seen a few crooked protos. SK and Wright make nice ones though. Snap-on goes without saying

Couple of things from yesterday;

s32b7n.jpg

- Sunnex air hammer, had from amazon in the US. More powerful than i was expecting.

- Milwaukee 3/8 fuel ratchet with a 6.0 battery. Haven't used it yet but it seems to have a fair amount of torque.

- Stahlwille offset spanner set, i already own a few facom's in some common sizes, but amazon had the whole set for £51 delivered, good price.

- Hazet extra long 18mm, 16mm is on the way.

- Lisle push rivet pliers, and a long milwaukee 1/4" impact bit holder.

Seems to me all (most?) the hex sockets that are made here don't have that matte grey finish, that's import.

Not sure why that would be. if oxide / oil is good enough for snap on and proto, whats up with the sintered looking grey finish on taiwanese hex bits. So they don't rust on the boat over?

One of the new Tekton flex heads in 3/8" and a Williams 32mm hex socket in 3/4" drive. Will I ever use the latter? Wait why does it matter??? Tools are fun

I have the Mac ball end hex socket driver set. I was a little concerned about the quality (being an import) but I put some serious torque on them and they didn't flinch. I was impressed.

Beautiful box and butcher block top. I hope I can find a Taco cart one day in my area.....

Thank you
Took 2 days to move in, new casters, new drawer liners, restained the butcher top, cleaned drawer sides relubed with candle wax, polished the red back to a shine.

On the hex bit sockets, I think the gray finish maybe something to help the hardness of the bit. Or at least to prolong its wear resistance. The Snap-On gold colored bits are unbelievably hard. I've seen some that have been used a bunch and they have no wear other than the coating. Armstrong uses Bondhus hex key stock, or so I was told by an Armstrong dealer. I've come to like the Pressed-in bit sockets better than the roll pin or set screw ones.

I've yet to break or damage one. They are designed for hand torque only, they will not hold up to nitro cat 1/2 Drive air impact. The ones with set screws become loose to easily. For an impact I use grey pneumatic one piece chrome moly hex drivers. The ones like in the picture below I use on a sliding t-handle

SK and Wright have gray bits that are very hard too. Here are 2 Wright I just bought.9aed552e0c475e10d30f578b50fc80a3.jpg

Snap On Flank Drive Plus 7-22mm, 24mm. (The 23mm is in the mail) Got the wrenches from KM223 in like new condition for an absolute bargain! I think the wrenches over 19mm would've cost me just as much...

I have a set of Wright 1/2" drive SAE hex bits at work, 1/4-5/8 standard length. My 3/8" is most used by far. Last week I was using it and the bit just fell out of the socket. It was on a 15" Proto XL ratchet, never seen an impact.

My hillbilly fix was cut a piece of .005" shim to fit against one flat, then pound bit back in with a hammer. Feels solid now!

:wtf: no palm control ratchet in a 100th anniversary set?

That's rediculous!!

I can't believe they went for a USAG clone ratchet:shocking:

Nice Facom goodness though:thumbup:

A 1/4 drive Wright set I scored for $30. Items were all sealed in plastic when it arrived.
Also I bought 2 Wright Premium double pawl ratchets 3/8 drive. Why buy one when you can have two? Lol

I've learned my lesson on pear heads with a lever switch. 1/4" especially, but 3/8" also. Too many times, I am working with my hand and ratchet in a confined area and I have to basically cover the ratchet with my hand. But I always end up accidentally switching the lever while working the action, so round head from now on for me.

Picked up this Masterforce pliers set yesterday. I've seen it sit in the clearance section for about two months marked $50. I said to myself if they can down in price to $20, I'll buy it. I checked the SKU on their website and it showed $25, close enough. I also had a coupon to get the 16" MN toolbar for $10.

The wife drug me back over this morning and I grabbed the Performax 3/8" breaker bar for the trailer toolbox for $4. The Irwin 3/8" drive extension, 12" long was $8.
