My newest arrival..

I bent my small vise separating pistons from connecting rods.

Then, one of the cars wheel hub bearings started humming.... the bearings get pressed in/out of the hub....

So, I got this for the expensive sum of $149.49 after a 25% off coupon...

I’ve been needing one for quite a while, but couldn’t justify the near $200 after taxes.... but now that my vise is broken, I had no choice hahaha

Maybe I can use the press to straighten the vise? Wouldn’t THAT be something, though I’m not sure I’d trust the vise after....

I got some tools in yesterday that I bought on GJ purchase fury while blindly following the clan. Shame on me, not what I was expecting and had I done just a bit more research, I would have figured it out quick. The Dent Fix pliers are definitely not PROTO as was mentioned here. They are cheap knock offs and owning the FACOM version makes it ten times worse. Probably if I didn't know what they were supposed to be like, then it might not have been so disappointing. I guess when you post your tools, will you make sure the brand is correct, help out the idiots like me..............

I'm not sure anyone meant these were made by Proto. One post mentioned the "Facom and Proto versions," but I think they just meant it in the general sense Facom's and Proto's versions of automatic locking pliers.

If it helps, I've posted the info I was able to find on the Dent Fix pliers here and here.

I am surprised anyone would have thought that no name pliers with no country of origin would have been equal to proto/facom/European style locking pliers. My facom 500 cost 40$ plus shipping the three dent fix pliers cost 40$ shipped. The quality is just slightly different and I like the locking mechanism on the dent fix better than the facom 500 I posted earlier.

I bought some PROTO locking pliers that were rebranded grip on for dirt cheap last year, they were $34.95 for two pairs with some table clamping brackets, just thought someone had found a great deal on some rebranded stuff. They are not bad pliers, I just wish I hadn't bought them, so buyers remorse on my end. Not trying to blame anyone, as I said before, I was the idiot that needed the help.

I worked out a trade with a fellow GJ member who had a post in the Wanted section seeking Dayton branded tools.I had a 13pc set of metric wrenches that I traded him for a 7pc set of Snap-On hard handle screwdrivers that were brand spankin new.SO Drivers 2.jpg
I was jazzed but now I needed to replace the metric wrench set that I kept in my Road Kit.While scouring eBay I found this 14pc set of USA made NAPA Professional series wrenches from sellular216 aka HandToolsForLess. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Profession...m=112839045746&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
I ordered them and they were all I expected, but I needed a 17mm wrench to complete the set,so after a bit of searching,I found a matching KD branded 17mm from Cripe Distributing. When I got that, and checked it out,it was an exact match20181208_151029.jpg,and all was well! 20181208_150950.jpg

Got this NEW set of Milwaukee annular cutters (made in Germany) through craigslist for $100. The cheapest price online looks like $399. I plan to use them in my mill.

Hope you got a good deal on those. Our new stocker/scrapper kid has those and they are falling apart after 2 months. The left sole is separating and is being held together with tape until he gets a new pair

That quilt is absolutely gorgeous. My grandmother (who passed away in February) made many many quilts similar to that one. I’m so proud of the several she gave me throughout the years.

The oilers are cool too, but the quilt brought back memories.

I've been wanting to get a decent generator for the trailer but wanted a 3000 Honda but a little out of reach at $2K. The EU2000i will do what I need minus run a future roof top AC unit. New, they are still about a grand, so I've been watching HD Tool Rental site for them to sell theirs.

I picked it up today and it's about three years old. Like alot of the rental tools, they don't get used much. Sale price was $441.

Picked up a new SO Torque Driver this morning for work. (Testing out before issuing them to some of our machinists) Don't think it's released yet. Works like a dream.

Not anything big today.

Putting together a box for my helper. Realized he didn’t have any metric wrenches. So, off to sears for some wrenches. Picked up a couple sockets for myself as well....

Then off to Harbor freight for a wrench organizer for the kid and got a couple free magnetic parts holders.

I paid too much for everything. $6.08! For sears AND harbor freight........

Second post for today is for my home tool additions.

Noticed new magnetic organizer trays. A little spendy, but figured I would give one a try. The magnets at the bottom of each tray are surprisingly strong; the magnets are probably why this is $35.They make three different styles. Also expanded my metric bit sockets to 19mm. I needed the 14mm, but decided to finish the set up up to the largest 1/2" drive socket.

For fun...the 19mm next to the 2mm. :D

Also got this free promo item today. The speakers pair together. They're insanely loud and are light years ahead of the Panasuckit blue tooth speaker I currently use in my hutch. These can be ear piercingly loud if you turn it to max volume.

My driver had those on promo about a month ago. Really neat. I played with the 1/4" drive, and IIRC, he had one with a 1/4" hex drive for bits as well.

What do you oil with them? Is it good oil?

Similar to 3-1 oil, maybe a bit thicker. Not a big fan of them as they tend to dribble around the straw after awhile so for fine oiling probably better off with the basic 3-1 can or something else like the small tri-flo that includes a drip straw.

It’s not uncommon for me to be out, but *nobody* was in the shop today so I missed my green seal removal kit delivery.
More waiting.

Some large Tekton wrenches! They come packaged in individual boxes. Nice.

Thanks for the warning.

It was from Home Depots deal of the day.

I saw the exposed toe sole stitching and was concerned about it. It's going to wear down from abrasion.

Made a couple small orders with KC Tool and Harry Epstein's. Both excellent retailers!
