I couldn't care less where they were made as long as they last and perform. There are no markings on the tool, but all my googling indicates made in germany.

We use Wiha quite a bit at work, and with those insulated handles, I've seen them from Vietnam, Switzerland and Germany. Hard to tell any real difference between them, but I've always been impressed with Wiha's pliers regardless of the COO

They are from Draper tools in the UK. I was going to buy the OEM tools ones but they don't have as complete sets in the 1/2 drive.

I bought them from Lawson-His. I had to email them for a shipping quote to send them from the UK to Canada.

Awesome thanks for the info, Ill have to build and order and then request a shipping quote. How was the pricing for you when it was all said and done with shipping?

All in including the FedEx brokerage and shipping it was $250 CAD shipped to Vancouver BC. So $190 usd.

I am happy with that as I specifically wanted a satin finish socket with the knurling. I likely could have done better pricing on something like Tekton by waiting for an Amazon deep discount but it would be high polish chrome.

Picked up some new mechanix gloves. Wasn’t impressed with snap on gloves off the truck that didn’t last that long so I’m back to good ol pep boys for the mechanix brand

Went to Harbor frieght today and picked up a home for the Primeweld Tig welder. Since it had plenty of room, its neighbor will be the Hobart Handler 210 mig. Could have squeezed the Hobart stick on it inbetween the two, but wouldnt had room to open spool door. 99956ed9a78fe82cc8bd4545fc232300.jpg51b7cfb21e5f998a61ba8f3be9faaf57.jpg3ac9fc4b8a54c65f81a8d5661f2e655a.jpg89097871206a9423c6cb72937ba7bedd.jpg

Picked up some Taiwan Gearwrench today at Sears Outlet, 84t 1/2" 10mm-24mm no skip (yes even a 20mm) and 2 extensions. Marked 39.99 rang up 38.99 and I had enough SYW points to cover tax. They had more (Overlea MD).

That sears outlet is still there?!?!? The one across the street from BJ's? Been gone 2.5years and thought it would have been closed up by now....

**** that ain’t bad, i could swallow those prices. I really wish there were more choices in the states that mimicked these exact designs i really like my ome set, I’m actually thinking about buying there 1/4 set only thing that is thats holding me back is that the set comes with a ratchet and extensions. I wish more companies would sell more rail sets as the last thing i need is another ratchet, especially some of the junk ones they sell with these sets. Personally i think the knurled satin finish is amazing over all they are way easier to grip 90% of the time my hands are either sweaty or greasy, the satin finish makes it easy to pull a socket especially off of ratchets without quick releases, and the knurling is great for spinning sockets in tight quarters.

Recently I made the switch to Makita. I’ve been looking on Offer-up, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. I came across an add yesterday and jumped at it!! I got a Makita 1/2 Brushless Impact Driver and two 3 hour batteries for $140! The thing looks brand new. She said her husband won them at a raffle.

These came today...VERY happy with the initial quality. Much nicer than than Chinese CM 299 piece set. Really can't beat this deal IMO.

First go with the 120xp ratchets...they're smooth and quiet...This should make a great SUV set.

Only gripe is that the 3/8 set moves around in the case if you don't keep it flat...causes quite a mess in there. Will probably have to cut a sheet of thin foam to hold it all together. Not a huge deal.

Showed up yesterday, had some free time today to sit down and swap it out. So far I’m pretty happy you can definitely tell a difference in the tooth count, I like how the lever is easier to grab on the DT upgrade. I do wish it was a little bit smoother but I’m sure with some wrench time it will smoother her out. 78b1a940fefd231898d304aa33c5eb1c.jpg7da2d07da91b147ce9525560851e1c85.jpg

I found that using super lube oil squirted in hard to reach spots is helpful. The grease doesn't seem to find its way deep inside.

The Sears Outlet is still there. And still open as of 1/20/19.

Like Negen said, the COO is printed on the package... but not on the tools.

I'll post this here too as they are my new tools and because it has something that might be interesting to S-O and Facom users too:

My new Hazet 600LG (long pattern) wrenches arrived:

And here is a quick 13mm comparison to some others I have in my home boxes (from bottom: Facom No. 40, S-O OEXM130, S-O OSHM130A, Hazet 600LG):

Nice haul. I've been eyeing those knipex, but I missed the last sale and am waiting for the next one.

I cant remember if it was Amazon or ebay but a few people snagged that set for around $90 a few months ago. Since then the lowest I've seen is $140.

I bought the same set from Zoro this week with a “one time use” 20% off coupon code that Zoro emailed me.

AE169DAB-76A4-4E42-9167-0E95FBD299D6.jpg

Edit: The only Amazon deal that I’m aware of was in the GJ Hot Deals section for $109 on 12/07/18, and like most great Amazon deals, only lasted long enough for only a few members to take advantage before the deal was dead. Maybe you saw $90 on eBay, but would seem too good to be true though.

I did't see a discount either.

Kinpex: $140
Torque wrench: $136
Calipers: $18

The dial torque wrench completes the torque wrenches I wanted. I also have a 3/8" and 1/2" SO Techangle wrenches.

Those o-ring picks... I have wanted a set for a long time. I have been using 40 year old Chemistry spoons that I grinded flat for years.

Your post finally got me going.

I ordered Mayhew 60028 O-Ring Removal Tool Set
