From Amazon the Ares 1/2” almost 10” long socket holders. They hold the the sockets very well, and I got them this length so they can fit perfectly in my bag.

They do not perfectly hold 10 sockets. So I had to move the little rubber cap slightly out to do so. The aluminum rails are thick enough to not bend or flex. Im actually surprised how rigid they are.

You can flip the plastic socket holders and alternate their side. You can fit more sockets on a rail like that, and it’s especially true for larger diameter sockets. It does give the rail a larger footprint though obviously.

Picked these up a while back.

Handled those sets at CAL Ranch last year, but didn't pull the trigger. Bought the long version in 12mm x 14mm for doing the head gaskets on the wife's 4Runner, and it's been a lifesaver. Definitely will be buying both the Tekton double box sets to replace the GW combo sets I have.

Have you checked out VIM tools? I think VIM are the manufacturer for those and you might be able to find some additional savings.

Febuary flyer had the PWZ's on sale, so I picked up the PWZ1 and PWZ2 to keep the PWZ0 I already had some company. Should've taken a pic of pwz3 for comparison...it's pretty big jump from 2 to 3.

I also picked up another prybar. :lol_hitti

Does OEM Tools have a website? Maybe I am missing it but can't find one on Google. Was curious to see what all they have, bought the low profile 3/8 sockets and they are great quality and stupid cheap.

Autozone is the only place I've seen with OEM Tools.

Does anyone other than snapon make those? I've had the big ones for years and would love the smaller sizes but they're damned expensive

Snap On's subsidiary Bahco makes them. You can find them on Amazon, but they're not really that much cheaper, plus no warranty. PWZ0 on promo is $53. Bahco version is $48, and no coating on the handles; they're just painted.

They're known as Swedish style pipe wrenches. Stahlwille and Gedore make their own, but are expensive and difficult to warranty. Knipex Cobras function in the same way, but not as beefy. If you're in the US, the SO's are probably the best value.

I'm not sure if that's the exact same model# I have but I know I paid over $100 for them about 10 years ago.

I wouldn't know about promos because our snapon guy is a deadbeat that shows up when he feels like it and only parks for about 20 minutes. Does not ever come in the shop...

These style pliers have all of their PN's starting with PWZ. Ranges from the 8.5" PWZ0 to the 41.75" PWZ5. You may have the PWZ3's since they're normally priced at $127. The Bahco version is currently at $133 on Amazon.

Only ones you will save by getting the Bahco versions on are the PWZ4 and PWZ5.

$249.50 PWZ4 / Bahco 144 $110.17 (Amazon $170.55)

I’ve gotten some Williams stuff from them before. Didn’t cross my mind that they would carry Bahco. Good to know! I ordered a 3/4” socket set from them in the past and my only complaint was that it took a few weeks for shipping.

Bought a top of the line mini magnetic level. Johnson made in USA from the local hardware store. Needed a small one to level out a new dishwasher.

Ares SAE mid length 3/8 sockets. $10.44 on Amazon. Was waiting for Carlyle to go on sale to get a matching SAE set for my metrics, but at this price my brand matching OCD doesn’t matter anymore.

Picked up the Ryobi set that was listed in the hot deals thread at Home Depot. Added the grinder and reciprocating saw for the free tools. For 159 and some change, i feel it was well worth it. Done gave the grinder a workout cleaning up some metal for praticing tig welding on. Done have a couple of 9 amp hr batteries on the way for them4b8e587374f0e22fe7c6edf4d8dcd379.jpg

Tell us more about the color fill job.

Looks much easier to read. I like it.

Used a paint pen, let it dry over night then removed with 000 steel wool.
But, I am considering redoing them with finger nail polish.
I tested the fingernail polish AFTER doing these and it stood up VERY well to brake cleaner. The paint pen didn't.
I haven't tested the Brake Cleaner on the Laqquer Stik, will do that soon.

I used a Red Markel Lacquer Stik on my SAE set and would have used that If they made a Blue Lacquer Stik, but they don't. I even emailed Markel and asked why. Their response was not enough demand:headscrat. they have RED, White, Gold, Black, Yellow.

Same here. The 14 piece metric set on Amazon is a whopping $20.00 for 6mm - 19mm with no skips... How in the world can anybody compete with this and the SAE set for $10??

Grabbed another set of the OEMtools stubby sockets for my friend with a cramped engine bay. Can't touch these for the price and the rail is really nice to boot
