Picked up this to do some suspension work that requires torque+angle. My first ever Snap-On purchase, not to bad for a DIYer.

It was from JB Tool Sales - the only reason I didn’t mention it earlier is because they showed it back at full price within a few minutes of ordering it. I wasn’t very confident it’d actually show up b/c I thought the price might have been a typo... they never said anything about it though and it shipped after a few days. Dunno - every now and then you get lucky!

Look what followed me home Saturday! I haven't had a chance to unbox it yet.

I'd been looking to get an inexpensive TIG machine, and the reviews on the Vulcans has been remarkably favorable. There's really nothing anywhere close in price that has a true, variable foot pedal. HF had a coupon for $100 off the Vulcan ProTIG 165 that was only good through this past weekend. After several weeks of hemming and hawing, I went by my local store Saturday and they had one in stock, so I decided to ****** it for $579 while I could.

I currently have a little Clarke 135SG spoolgun MIG that I use for aluminum, so I already have a bottle of pure argon on my cart.

I have absolutely no TIG experience, but I've been wanting to jump into that pool for a while now. Hopefully, between Jody Collier's and Wyatt Swaim's videos, I can master the learning curve.

Prices vary wildly so watch a bit before pulling the trigger. For instance, in December I bought the 64 pc. 1/4" set for $41, current price is $100! Good luck!

And Wilton cbv-100 vise. Originally ordered Wilton 6400 corner clamps but Amazon sent this instead. Not gonna complain there the vise is worth more and needed a small.clamp on vise for the fiancee to use on her projects.

Even in the box some of it had flaked off the edges in a few spots. The Miller/Smith medium duty is very nice. The tanks (80 O2 and 75 Acetylene) were the biggest any welding shop in reasonable distance would sell me. They all want to rent anything larger than a B tank.

I also may or may not have bought a new tool box.....At almost 50% off plus trade in of my box, I couldn’t pass it up.

That looks great... my hf cart from the weekend.... I think my two stage regulator is leaking... back to the torch shop i go...

I still have the 54 that I’m using in my arms room. Took a little loss at $1800 for my 72 combo, but with the added almost 50% off I just went for it
Edit: This thing is huge too. 88” wide, 27” deep and 47” high...Its a beast

In the end possibly. Have to weed through the HF cart and a nickel offers though. As long as you enjoy the new box, it is a great color.

The matte OD Green is really nice. I think this thing has the same capacity as that 72 combo...Possibly more...lol...I really did like the Homak combo but I really really like this Mac. I’m also very happy to have a work top now with my limited space.

They sale another kit for the weatherpacks. I've got both but havent used either much yet. For the few crimps ive made with each, they seem to work pretty well even for a novice.

Have both Astro ratcheting crimpers. They are identical to the ones Pertronix sells. You can also get spark plug wire dies that fit from Pertronix.

I’ve been extremely pleased with them.

Picked up a few things over the past month.

Irwin pipe wrench, gloves and flashlight at Menards. I had a rebate and a return so it was a good trip.


Ordered an IR 114GQC on Amazon. It’s my first air hammer and I’m hoping it will work well for my upcoming unit bearing replacement on a Subaru. I also picked up some bits. Chicago Pneumatic punch and a Grey Pneumatic 1” hammer.

I cleared out a bunch of Gearwrench NOS that I’ll never use and upgraded what little I have left.

Sunex 1/2” impact socket master set w/ the extensions and swivel. I got rid of both my Gearwrench (COO China) sets for these. The Gearwrench have some nicer features like a longer taper on the smaller sockets and a bevel on the square end, but I saw how the electro plating wears on my HF flip sockets and I wasn’t happy knowing that would happen to them eventually. Didn’t need the SAE anyway so I just replaced with the metrics. Really happy with these.

Also sold off my Gearwrench 3/8” chrome sockets (minus the 12pt shallows) for the Grey Pneumatic Duo 3/8” master set. I wanted dual purpose for the most commonly used sockets and these fit the bill. Thin walls like the chrome and I can throw these on my Dewalt impact drivers without worry. Again, really happy with these.

I also picked up those nut/bolt extractors from HF. I’ll probably rarely ever use these but it’s one of those things that’s nice to have in a pinch. COO Taiwan anyway.



I scooped up some Code Blue Channellock tools. Fit and finish on all of these is excellent, way better than the Gearwrench tools these are replacing.



And finally I got all of the various Bremen locking pliers that HF offers and these are excellent for the money. COO Taiwan and Cr-Mo construction. These should be considered a consumable anyway, but I think these will serve me well for years to come.

They are pretty robust. I know the 1/2 to 3/8 can handle 125 ft lbs. I couldnt find my 1/2 inch 12 point while torquing down some arp head bolts so i had to use my 3/8 drive socket.

I finally popped on this Heyco 14 / 17 flare nut wrench I have been watching on Amazon...it came down to $10 and I couldn't pass it up. Should be perfect for the brake lines on my M3.
