Was a good week. Finally pulled the trigger on a torque wrench I've wanted for a while. My dealer was running a promo on torque wrenches, and this 24" breaker bar w/ comfort grip came "free." Wasn't technically part of the official promo, but he is cool with me bartering so I can get what I want.

I've never owned a Snap On hammer before, but I always had my eye on them. He had a promo for $50 off the 3 Pc Hammer set. It was about $150 for 3 SO hammers, so got these too. :)

My grandfather had left a few fleet wrenches (made by Proto back in the day) in his model A that I inherited, and I found a few more fleet wrenches on eBay to complete the set. I put them all in a new wrench roll. No frills, just some good vintage USA combo wrenches.

Starting to build some kitchen cabinets, so I picked up some Kreg jigs a few weeks ago. They do make life easier.

Concealed hinge jig, well worth the money.

Drawer slide jig, probably could make these, but buying them was easier.

Shelf pin jig, haven't had the chance to use this one yet.

Right angle clamp, should have used this already but forgot that I had them.

All came from Menard's and rebate paid for all but a few dollars of them.

Today I stopped by HD and grabbed a few longer trigger clamps. I have a some smaller ones and some pipe clamps but wanted these for clamping the doors together during gluing.

These are Dewalt (600lb HD ) 24" versions. It also helped to have a 10% off coupon. I also grabbed another half dozen 2" spring clamps. At 99 cents each, hard not to have several of these laying around.

If you happen to see this, can you please tell me the weights of the hammers in the promo? Thanks!

OEMTOOLS hex bit sockets, $9.98. Have another one on the way, just couldn't pass it up at that price. 7aace9ef4ed42b872462287430aa2a1d.jpg

I seen the Husky Thinwall 3/8 impact sockets set was on sale from Black Friday and impulse bought it! Now it’s $30 for either the SAE or Metric sets, but this set has both! b41f56d2b4726c922859dc8a0e4b0a80.jpgb07337f82c593ff465f81c9b5965cfd6.jpg

Damn you. I really want both of those (and their green to make my envy even worse). I may just have to call up my dealer and see if we can work something out. What's the promo price? I haven't seen the latest flyer or two.

Anyone else notice they picture a hard handle breaker bar, but the box says soft grip?

$599 and I’m in so cal

Needed a grease gun, nothing expensive or fancy, so I got these at our local True Value Hardware store, just enough to do the job.

I bought the Mac Side Wider extensions in 3/8 & 1/2. Impact rated. I tried to use the 1/2 to remove a wheel but it wouldn't.:( I had a similar one from Blue Point years ago, used the hell out of it but it finally bit the dust.
Not my picture.

I was thinking about getting them too. I’m guessing there is a lot of torque loss in the design, but I won’t need them for high torque just hard to reach places.

Snap-on relaunched one also. They want something outlandish like $200 for it.

Definitely one of the strangest gizmo's I've seen. And I've never seen that before until your post either.

You mentioned not using it in a high-torque situation. And I definitely agree, that thing has to kill torque. Just using an a wobble socket, an extension or a flip-socket kills torque. So, it would be interesting to see someone put together a video with torque testing to see the actual numbers/percentage of torque loss. Which brings me to my question...

What is the advantage or specific situation of using that gizmo over just using a ratchet/wrench? If you can fit that adapter, I have to think that you could just use a ratchet or a wrench, and we already covered torque loss.

I'm genuinely interested. Some times the line between proper tool vs gimmick, can be blurred. I'm interested in which side this adapter falls into.
It seems like a really solid tool, one advantage over a ratchet is you don't have to swing it. I do believe that when you use it with an impact it is stronger then a air ratchet.
The Blue Point version that I had was used a lot. Enough that I wore it out.

Let us know your thoughts after you use it a few times. My MAC guy has been trying to talk me into it, but I haven't caved yet.
