How do these persuaders feel, looking at these and a few others. Feel like they will hold up decent?

I do not have to compare them, they are the first hammers of this type that I have. But they feel comfortable in the hand. They are echos in China, but it seems that they are going to put up with it.

I picked up a 10/11 Heyco Flare Nut wrench for $5 and a set of Williams 6-14mm ratcheting wrenches (COO: Taiwan) for $42. I had bought the 15mm as an Amazon add on item a few weeks ago for $2 to see if I like them...needless to say, I did. They are very nice, great chrome, and feel like Snap On wrenches in the hand (they are almost identical in profile, a few comparison photos below). The head thickness on the ratcheting end is about the same as my Craftsman raised panels and the mechanism feels good. I figured it was hard to go wrong for the price paid...

Just curious, where did you find that Williams set for $42? I see it between about $70 and $90+. Part number for the set is Williams MWS-1123NRC.

I found it on Amazon. I put the set in my watch list about a month ago and have been watching the price fall...when I added them they were $80 or so. I don't know why the price dropped but on Sunday, I saw the price drop to $42 and jumped on it. I have scored quite a few things recently that way.

My favorite thing is probably the the magnetic charger. Hate how every light/accessory seems to be micro-USB these days.

I will say I like how I have one charger for multiple lights and I can share with people. There's probably 5 or six lights bumping around with the same micro usb charger.

semi related: I hate thieves. Didn't want to leave the light out at first but eventually the other guys convinced me it wouldn't get stolen. First day I left my light out some degenerate stole just the cord, probably to charge their cell phone. It was a cheap cord but it was a headache to order a cable off amazon, wait for it, etc. It's just disrespectful, like "i need this more than they do." If I ever figure out who it was (doubtful) I'll cut whatever cord they have with them in half.

That is an awesome score

I've noticed prices on Williams products fluctuate HEAVILY for one reason or another. Some sort of algorithm manipulation that I don't understand being that Amazon is the seller themselves in this case, Lowest price for this particular set has been $21.52 and this isn't even the wildest fluctuation I've seen on other Williams listings

Browsing my Amazon "list" daily for price drops has become an obsession

Very cool. How do you watch the price in graph form? (As opposed to just checking the current price all the time)

Picked this up the other day, saw it in the flyer for 24.99 got an extra 5.00 off at pick up, we’ll see how it does. For 21 dollars and some change out the door can’t complain to much..

This is what happens when you browse eBay late at night and start throwing bids out on random stuff. I found this neat little 1/4" drive SK set NOS in the metal box. I thought it may have been one of those retro kits SK made a couple years ago but, now that I've gotten it, it seems to be older. It say's Copyright 1987 on the paper inside the lid. It's labeled Chicago, ILL. It has a little blow moulded tray for the tools to sit in. I'm about to cut into it and open it up but it sure seems like it would make for a neat collectors piece since I'm an SK fan. That would be a bit of a waste though.

That's a weird little SK set. They could have probably thrown a few more sockets in there to fill it out a little more, or used a smaller box. I'd be torn about opening it too, with the original cardboard box present and all.

This SK metric 3/8’s compact socket set didn’t arrive to me, I arrived to it!

Today went down to a local hardware feed store in our small South Central Texas Town looking for something entirely different.

Anyway I get to conversing with the guy behind the counter inquiring about what it was that I was looking for, etc. (of course they don’t carry it!) but during the talking stage something catches my eyes that is sitting right on the top shelf, underneath the glass display case collecting dust, etc.

I noticed the price written in black marker on it ($64.50) and also noticed that the smallest socket is missing as well.

I ask the guy what was the story with the SK socket set and he commenced to tell me that they’ve had it in the store for sometime now (years) and that it used to be displayed on the top counter shelf, trying to sell it but no takers. Then one day they noticed that the wrapping was torn and someone decided they needed the smallest 10mm socket and it was now gone!

Since it was already missing a socket, from the set, torn wrapping and just collecting dust I asked if they were willing to sell it at a discounted price?

Guy says “Sure’” and then gives me a 25% discount for it and I walk out happy!

Now, for a replacement, if I can just find that missing 10mm SK socket!?716AA810-92F3-4A7F-B0F4-3ACB591E3CD0.jpg41198AE9-A7E5-4495-BAF2-66DF4E176432.jpg41F8BEA8-888A-49C7-A3D9-D222B46CBAB9.jpg3686616A-61AE-4E11-9A01-0D79D5CD7A48.jpg

Went to Home Depot to buy a furnace filter. Swung by the tool aisle. I have a Husky USA offset screwdriver and it recently saved my bacon in a house thermostat replacement, thinking about giving one to BIL.

I find them only to see this price, so I bought all 6 they had. of course it means they'll either discontinue it or offshore it. I'm surprised this was still USA made.

This new Milwaukee M12 Fuel 3/8 ratchet. Doesn’t have lots of breaking torque but helped tear down, replace flywheel, ignition cooled, and fan then put everything back together fee20795b298d26e582d6926433d59e4.jpga1062e26730d8f96d70e73c890f9205c.jpg

Too funny how we both posted some very similar new S-K acquisitions within a very short time of each other.

I wonder how many of those were sold because of this website...

I wonder how many JIS screwdrivers were sold in the last three weeks or so...

Yeah, a JIS screwdriver made it to my Tool List on amazon...This site has been bad on my wallet, lately.

The recent SK postings have me looking as well. My local hardware store is an SK dealer and there are several metal box sets on the lower shelf. I might need to look at them closer. Why? I have no idea...my 20 year old Craftsman sockets are still serving me well. But I do have a thing for SK.

With any electric ratchet, you want to manually break the bolt by hand (using it like a normal ratchet), and then back it out with power.

My little Lincoln SP175+ is getting a little long in the tooth and I have to do some welding this weekend so I got this Miller Multimatic 255 from Bakers. Bakers is great to deal with and the Multimatic was only a few hundred more than the MIG only Millermatic.

Yea, isn't it!

I didn't realize it till after I went back and re-read my post (right after posting) that I became aware of your post.

Also, as you mentioned in your post, my set, like yours, also has 1987 printed on it in small lettering too.

Though I like the fact that your set came with both metric and SAE sockets. That's pretty cool in my book.

Oh...and by the way, I did find the exact 310 10mm socket replacement to complete the set. Found it on Ebay and is on it's way to me!
