I'm calling the cops 'cause you stole that saw! That's quite a deal!

Thanks! If I'd found it first, I could have gotten it for half of that. RIP.

Seems pretty sweet so far. Before I start my internship this summer I'll probably be with my uncle for two weeks in may, and hopefully will get to break it in.

Gotcha. We’re looking to pick up a Miata down the road. We haven’t decided whether it’ll be an NA or an NB yet though.

I would look for the 1.8L NA and skip the 1.6L. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Can this specific tool be purchased at just about any local hardware store or can they only be purchased online?

Where can I fine them?

OEM tools... folding pocket scraper with those hard plastic blades... Feels good in the hand too.

EDIT: Will be added to my go bag...

I have been an avid customer of Amazon for 21 years. I place orders for in excess of 1,000 items a year. I would highly recommend them for any tool or cough drop they sell. I personally avoid 3rd party sellers unless they are "Fulfilled by Amazon".

Tell me, what manufacturer made the, start count from the far right to left, the third bottle opener (between the Craftsman and the Gedore)?

Where can I purchase one at or from whom?

Thanks in advance!

Oops, for some reason my Gedore bottle opener picture didn't come through the first time.MVIMG_20190410_231352.jpeg

No problem, I'll actually just name them all, in case anyone else is curious. From right to left because why not:

Klein
Craftsman
Channellock
Gedore
Witte
Wiha (VDE handle)
Stahlwille
Felo
Wera (VDE handle)
Wera

The one you're asking about is the Channellock acetate handle. I think I got it from this combo pack at a local hardware store:

I needed to do some diagnostic work on a couple newer cars last week and my old OTC Genisys EVO scan tool just couldn't do them, so I did some research and bought these. I was considering the Snap-On Zeus as well, but when I contacted a couple of local Snap-On guys to come to them and see it in person, they were, to put it mildly, not really interested once they realized i'm just a guy and don't work at a shop. One of them told me I could order it online but didn't have them time to demo one until late June, "or so". The other said they sell so fast that he didn't know when he would have another one in stock. And getting any discussion out of them was painful once I told them I don't work at a shop.
Don't get me wrong, I love Snap-On tools and buy a decent amount through their website where they are always friendly and helpful on the phone; and the point of this post is not to bash them, but I think some of the threads about some Snap-On dealers that are rude to you if you don't work at a shop are unfortunately true. I guess spending $15k for a scanner isn't interesting enough, I don't get it. Maybe they just get inundated with tire kickers. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but am not going to buy a $15k scan tool without checking it out in person first.

Anyway, back on track. Supposedly, the Bosch ADS625 can do some things that the Autel Elite can't do and vice versa. We'll see. They both worked great on the cars I worked on last week. Neither of them have a scope though.
I will do a super-detailed review of them once I get some time under my belt with them.

I'm shocked the snappy guy couldn't make time for that large of a purchase. :wtf:

Me too. Someone mutters the words "scan tool" or "tool box" and my snappy guy becomes their new best friend. :lol_hitti

I know, right?
Like I said, the only reason tbat makes sense to me is that they must get a **** ton of people calling them and wasting massive amounts of their time so they figure it's just not worth dealing with people off the street.

Crazy. What a missed sale. Lucky for me my Mac Guy lets me meet him at his house on the weekends to make my purchases. Get to hang out, take my time, and not interrupt his weekday stops.

Just a few little things I've picked up the past two weeks. Major renovations going on at my house, so haven't been splurging on tools lately.

The two mid length swivel sockets to "complete" the set that came with my cordless ratchet.

AST tool for pressure bleeding Toyota/Lexus. For the price, was expecting a little more quality. It's pretty cheap.

AST Oil Filter Socket for Toyota/Lexus. Pretty sad looking and no detent for the drive, so it will just fall off your ratchet or extension. If you're looking for oil filter sockets, I've been really liking Motivx. They don't make a 73mm 14 flute socket yet, so stuck with AST. :\

See where your ratchet ball lines up and drill a hole in place of a detent. Had an oil filter strap wrench that was just a 1/2" piece of square stock with no detents or holes that drove me crazy until I did that.

While the wife went shopping for her mom's birthday presents, I went to the nearby HF. Most everything purchased with individual coupons and 20% off.

1st pick all HF stuff.

When I went back to meet the wife, I picked up this large stainless garbage can with a flip-top on sale for $19.99 for the garage. Now to find a nice big decal for it. Maybe Champion Plugs or Castrol Oil.

2nd pick is the new tall stainless flip-top garbage can.
