Few new things. :)

I was so happy with my Tech-MCT bag for home use, that I ended up getting a Tech Pac MC-LT for work when I go on field engineering calls. Falling in love with the Veto Pro Pac product line!

Also got a set of Bondu's flex head allen wrenches to try out. Was always curious about them, and the tool trucks have a huge mark up on them.

And last but not least my free set of stubby torx impact socket set from the Astro BOGO promo.

Love the pack. I have the same one as my dedicate electrical home bag. I saw a guy with a smaller version that caught my eye, but haven't researched it yet. Off I go!

My new Stahlwille 65013160 small combination pliers for pocket carry. They have a good feel, the fit and finish is very good, however I did have to flush the grit out of the joints. My favorite German pocket combo pliers so far.

I had enough looking and drooling over the 166N, pulled the trigger and definitely worth it.

Well... from a professional standpoint, I can see why the Proto is more desirable (Larger, sturdier, etc).

From my view, as a hobbyist, I enjoy the nostalgic design with improved odds and ends.

It's like a German litterbox.
You aren't wrong though... it's sort of a catch-all for tools. Not the most ideal for a single toolbox.

I had a stuck lug bolt on a Smart Fortwo so I went to the local HF and bought an impact wrench for $32.77 after coupon. I brought it back and it wouldn't loosen the bolt! Then I called up a local industrial supplier and told them to sell me something a little stronger and they sent this over

2pz0hl4.jpg

2 seconds of hammering and it broke the entire hub off which is a victory in my book. I will never deal with another stuck lug again!
Is this 1,5" drive gun? Details, type..?
I want one!

Those Isobar serge suppressor direct plug in's from Tripp-Lite are awesome!

I've own'd one since the early 90's and it's still holding up strong all these years and through countless power outages.

It's definitely "protection-worthy"!

With their lifetime warranty, they are a damn good investment and top notch in my book and well worth the $ spent for them.

Picked up some new Tripp-Lite surge protectors to replacing the ones that cooked recently.

And you’re comparing a tool cart to a Job box. Of course the job boxes are more sturdy there meant to stay stationary on a work site.

THhe Hazet is customizable and rolls around with you when working on cars. There’s a reason they’ve been making them for decades because it’s super handy and a lot of people like the design.

I snagged a set of smaller Orbis pliers after liking all the others that I have. You really can't beat these for $12 a piece (after watching them drop from much higher on Amazon). 5in Round nose and flat nose.

I love the mid torque ! It does 95% of what you need done with an impact wrench.

I got my last ratchets in the FHfD80 and the THLFD72 to complete my ratchet drawer. Also cleaned and lubed all my ratchets while I was at it. I love it.

My Facom JXL wasn’t working right but an overnight dunk in ATF really smoothed it out(thanks to the tip I received On GJ)

Looking at this photo and talking with several people I work with that also stock fairly high end tools at home and do a significant amount of wrenching for personal needs, brings up questions.

I notice on GJ that flex head ratchets seem to be quite popular. Myself and the people I asked who I consider good mechanics don't just dislike them, but we hate them. We all agree that when you try to get leverage they get squirrelly. Even the locking head type just feel unsafe to put leverage on. Once they are out of 90° alignment from the socket, they want to twist the socket off the bolt in a weird manner instead of spin it. In the 20+ years of working on cars and industrial machinery I've never had an instance where a flex head was the answer. Just curious as to why they are so popular on here?

Perhaps you should start a thread about "Why do you DIY'ers Flex your Heads?"... It's not appropriate within this thread.

I for one .. have one flex head 3/8" SK vintage 1970's... I use it all the freaking time. It's my go to for spark plugs...

Skin, that seems like a pretty big jump to go from HF to that, must have been like trying to use a 3/8" drive, then stepping up to 1"

Had a small Craftsman for a long while. Really terrible. Had bought it for $20 originally, and sold it for $65 two months back.

Picked this up today for $60 in like new condition. Not a fan of the red, but at least it matches my YA700s.

Could you do a summary of the Long flex head snap on to the Koken please

Both are great flex head ratchets. But meant for two different tasks if that makes sense.

Snap On has high tooth count and I’ve tightened the flex so it’s really rigid. I use the snap On for its strength much like a breaker bar. It’s really a great tool and why It’s probably Snap on’s most popular variant (long flex head 3/8 ratchet). Before I got this red one I had a regular FLF80 for about ten yrs. you can’t go wrong with it.

The Koken Zeal is low tooth count but has the advantages of being little to no back drag which is important in tight spots. The head is really thin as well(was even shorter than GW 84/Matco). The flex is stopped by a ball bearing to keep it in the straight position but in hard to reach places this works beautifully to flex as you push it because there’s not too much resistance. I wasn’t sold on the low tooth count at first but the very low backdrag more than makes up for it. (I had the KTC Nepros 90tooth flex before but it didn’t feel right and the backdrag wasn’t great)

Both great flex head ratchets made by two great manufacturers.

No but its not really meant for lugs, or anything else on a road vehicle. Reverse is biased at 5900 foot pounds, only 4000 foot pounds forward. Scooped it up at a business liquidation sale for about the cost of an iPhone.

Well........ ****!
Thought it was a 1 inch gun.
Wrong I was.

NAPA finally got the Carlyle 1/2" long ratchet in that I ordered during the 1st quarter sale. I haven't used it yet, but it feels nice. 36 tooth, but the backdrag is nice.

Picked up a new visor remote for my Liftmaster 2255 garage door opener. My folks got a new Chamberlain C205 and I my remote wasn't compatible and I didn't want to carry two remotes. This remote works all chamberlain, liftmaster and craftsman openers. Works great and was a snap to program. Made in Mexico
