Pistol Grip Screwdriver (Dated 1995, NIB)

For the love of god whatever you do, don't ever take it apart! They are NOT like the other ratcheting screwdrivers. IT took me many days to get mine back together.
I did that on mine.... never again....For the love of god whatever you do, don't ever take it apart! They are NOT like the other ratcheting screwdrivers. IT took me many days to get mine back together.
I have the original round heads... i wonder if these are any better? I would like to compare the head size....Got the new Snap-On F80MP 3/8ths ratchet. So far I'm loving it.
Here's a short video showing the operation of the swivel mechanism.
Both are great flex head ratchets. But meant for two different tasks if that makes sense.
Snap On has high tooth count and I’ve tightened the flex so it’s really rigid. I use the snap On for its strength much like a breaker bar. It’s really a great tool and why It’s probably Snap on’s most popular variant (long flex head 3/8 ratchet). Before I got this red one I had a regular FLF80 for about ten yrs. you can’t go wrong with it.
The Koken Zeal is low tooth count but has the advantages of being little to no back drag which is important in tight spots. The head is really thin as well(was even shorter than GW 84/Matco). The flex is stopped by a ball bearing to keep it in the straight position but in hard to reach places this works beautifully to flex as you push it because there’s not too much resistance. I wasn’t sold on the low tooth count at first but the very low backdrag more than makes up for it. (I had the KTC Nepros 90tooth flex before but it didn’t feel right and the backdrag wasn’t great)
Both great flex head ratchets made by two great manufacturers.
Thank you for taking the time to reply, Im still not sure which to get![]()

Loctite 50ml dispenser gun.

Trying to hold a tube in one hand and squeezing it out uniformly with the other all the while keeping a steady bead on the part you're applying it to was difficult.
Wise Japan Hex/Torx L-Key Breaker Bars (Reverse Bar/Hyper Bar)
I have never seen these before. I could not find them on a quick Google search. Do you have a link?
Thanks

So I take it your child will NOT be going to College then?
(since you spent their entire college fund)
By my quick math I figure about $1700-1800 plus tax @ regular retail. What kind of deal did you get on them from your dealer buying them all at once? Some new things

There is actually 3 additional ratchets and another breaker bar that my dealer doesn't have as of yet. He gave me a cash deal of about 15-20% off for everythingBy my quick math I figure about $1700-1800 plus tax @ regular retail. BTW, I'm not blasting ya in any way, I've got about as many, most in orange hard handle!

If you can handle a green hard handle mixed in check out the FHKFD80AG stubby 3/8. Might just become your favorite 3/8 ratchet, it's definitely the first one I reach for.

You need to work on your driver some more, when I do a large purchase, especially cash, he will call his higher up and try for a better price so I get a better price.
Good to know he is getting me a quote together for 12 sets of FDX sockets, so we will see what he comes up with.
Now that's a big purchase. Here's my $0.02.Good to know he is getting me a quote together for 12 sets of FDX sockets, so we will see what he comes up with.
Definitely work him over a bit, that type of order should get you really good pricing. Driver should be able to take less percentage because he is selling more at once, when those sets first came out, they were buy one get one free. Then when they released the mid length, they were offered with a free ratchet.
Now that's a big purchase. Here's my $0.02.
Most of the socket sets go on promo from time to time Buy 1, Get 1 Free. Also the discount given for students (not on the truck) is about 50% off so if I was going to buy everything at once I really wouldn't settle for much more than 50% of retail.
The other thing I'd recommend is before investing in all FDX sockets, do some research. Maybe buy one set and try them out first. The feedback I've heard in my shop, from my driver and here on GJ is mixed at best. The socket grips the fastener pretty tight causing nuts to become stuck in the socket once removed. On the other end of the spectrum, some techs are reporting that they aren't all that effective on really rounded fasteners as they are advertised to be. Full disclosure, I have not tried them myself.

Don’t do the FDX especially not for all your sockets. The regular flank drive will be all you need.
If you want something like that that removes rounded nuts the turbo sockets by blue point/SK will be far better. Matco, Facom, and Koken have lobed sockets which grip only the sides, Koken calls them Surface Drive. Having more than one set of those wouldn’t be beneficial. Used for those tricky situations.
I appreciate your input my man. I've used the SK branded turbo sockets with great results. My deal quoted me only 15% discount with the standard flank drive sockets. He claims he can get a better deal on the FDX which is why was entertaining the idea. I guess if he doesn't want to play ball there is always ebay? Only downside is no warranty
15% seems a little tight, at least over here you can get 20-40% off fairly eaily.I appreciate your input my man. I've used the SK branded turbo sockets with great results.
