Cool! I still have my Mayline drafting table with Vemco left handed drafting machine from circa 1990. One day, when I have the space, I'd like to set it back up, even though I don't have much use for a drafting table any more.

Very nice.

I also have a vintage 1940-50's era all oak drafting table that I was given by the original owner back in the late 1970's. No vintage drafting machine for it though. Unfortunately the top got warped from storage but the legs, swivel arms and all the top mounting parts are still good. Plan on setting that up as an general artwork table once I get around to it. Just needs a nice smooth piece of plywood to finish.

I've had this one in my cart for awhile. Looks a bit nicer and I prefer the metal plate for a magnetic bowl or light.

Had to get some totes at The Home Despot and occasionally wander down the tool aisle. Ended up snagging a pair of these in 5" to try.

Have to say the Milwaukee socket sets look pretty nice too. I could see getting a 1/4" set for the car even though I need more sockets and ratchets like a hole in the head.

Anniversary present from my wife of 14 years....

Up until recently it was the smallest saw made, now it's just the second smallest, but this thing rocks!

Will be really handy clearing trees for tree stands and to keep on the tractor.

Here it is with it's big brother.

That is a nice tiny saw, could be very helpful when trail riding as I don't need to be hauling some 60+cc saw strapped to the back of my dual sport.

What is the smallest saw made, other than the 12V Bosch available in the UK?

Ha I really like that just for noveltys sake

Well to be honest, that's why I wanted it in the first place. I actually laughed when I saw it in the store thinking "this is the smallest chainsaw I have ever seen, it looks like a toy" but everytime I went in the store I had to fondle it. It's just a cool little saw, and surprisingly powerful for what it is.

Whats the model number on that? I need to pick up a saw, but don't need a big one.

Splurged. Added ratcheting stubbies and 3/8 shallows. Icon literally copied snap on tools exactly. Millimeter for millimeter they are exactly the same. I'm pretty happy to save hundreds of $

I see lots of people jumping on the Icon stuff already. I'm going to have to check these out to compare to my Tekton. It's clear the ratchets are an enlarged version of the Tekton design which should be a good thing for their attempt at professional markets.

Here are a few of the latest tools I have gotten from Ebay and an auction. I've been slowly building a 3/4" drive set. The blue set is Grey Pneumatic and the large sockets are SK and Proto up to 2-1/4". The two extensions are Craftsman, and the ratchet is a Snap-on L72T which I rebuilt, and got a Williams handle for. I paid $11 for the ratchet head and extensions. Also I bought a lot of hammer heads for $13 and all the handles and repair kits for $3. Also the big 36" Ridgid pipe wrench I gave $17 for!

Looking around the shop today for my tire irons I managed to find just one. Might have lost the other ones when I moved to the new house. Anyway...off to HF to pick up a couple more of their long tire irons.

While there I looked around, as usual, and thought I'd give this set of hobby knifes a try. Only $11.99 with the 20% coupon. They have thicker cushioned handles as compared to my thin all metal handle X-Acto ones. Nice case. We'll see how they hold up.

Thanks to you fine people, here is a tray of pliers.55aace2c8b7f76db87712b1ee59542af.jpg

Do the Knipex mechanics pliers have a diamond knurling at their tips or just straight grooves? I believe that’s what that set is called. They are the ones with the 90 degree bend, and the different “squiggley” tip configurations.

Also, what are those thin blue handles pliers in the top right for?

Doubtful that the things that really matter (metallurgy, ratcheting mechanism, etc) are exactly the same.

Their ratchet guts were opened up by one of the reviewers and they appear to be an enlarged version of the Tekton guts which is a smart move in my opinion. I like my Tekton's better than my dual 80's. Based on size I would call them Tekton HD or XL, whichever you prefer.

Had to bring the box to work tonight just to open up my new toy. 2767 High Torque, rubber boot, HD 9.0 battery, Rapid charger, SAE Impact set, and a free T shirt. Axle nuts be damned!

But for the general public do those things really matter? If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck?

I do own some snap on ratchets (bought them used) and like them (non-professional use) but would never be able to justify much other snap on stuff.

Needed a long 3/8 flex head for my carry tool tray. Almost bought a Gearwrench, but I have not been very impressed with Gearwrench ratchets at all. At about the same price this should do nicely. Low backdrag and best of all, no self reversing and jamming like Gearwrench.

I didn't post the photo but I can answer one of your questions. I have the same #38 mechanics pliers and they have diamond serrations. The #29 telephone pliers and the #09 linesman pliers also have diamond serrations.

If someone doesn't know any better, that doesn't mean that it doesn't matter. They just don't understand.

Kinda funny that the guy with a "buy local" sig line is claiming that a knock off made in China/Taiwan is the same as the original made in USA. :spit:

A second hand but never used Stihl MS 880
A used MS 880 that needs minor repair
An MS 660 that needs a new handle
An MS 201 TC that has a cracked tank

I bought them from a friend that used to do a lot of tree work but has scaled back. All for $1,500.00

After a platefull of flautas and an asada taco I had a decent day at Menards. The Bosch set was $12, at about 3 bits per dollar I ought to get my money's worth. The Wilde punches were about $4 ea. The 1/16 pin is to replace an old Craftsman one that broke off where the taper ends (honestly I'm not entirely sure why I still have it) and the 1/8 IIRC is the size for gas block pins, if not it was still only $4.

Armstrong 11-992. I already have the locking flex 11-994. Bought it at green dragon farmers market ephrata pa. The guy at the tool store there said he bought a lot of surplus Armstrong when the factory closed. The 992 is a 88. The 994 is a 60. I wish my 994 was a 88 I use it a lot .

Two for price of one. Seller sent double open end instead of double box but corrected mistake and sent double box. Got to keep double open. Both blackhawks.

Those are great little saws. When I worked in a shop we sold a ton of that size Echo, mostly to landscapers who used them for a quick branch cutting, climbing a ladder to cut something, or trimming a couple railroad ties. Didn't take up much room in the trailer, and super handy.

Having burned up my old Dremel some time ago and not wanting to spend a lot of money on another right now, I picked up this Hyper Tough 1.5 amp rotary tool today at Walmart instead. Only cost $16.84.

I purchased it to do one job, clean up the small rust spots on the inside rim of my Harley's rear wheel before I mount the new tire and tube. Anything after that is a bonus.

No no no...not what I said at all. What I am "trying" to say is that obviously ICON tools found some value in making exact copies of some of the best tools available. An educated guess leads me back to what I said before. If it looks the part, then that might enough for most.
