Found a good deal on a new Wright 6425. This thing is a BEAST. 3/4 drive, 42" long, 1" diameter handle, all 10 lbs of it!! I will be using it daily for watch and clock repair. :bounce:

Here are some random comparison photos...Wright 2400 (1/4), 3425 (3/8 long contour grip), 4425 (1/2 long knurled) and now 6425.

The blurry photo is with my other 3/4 rats, Bonney R701 (middle) and SK-Wayne 47170.

Preorder finally arrived from Northern tool. Worlds slowest shipping I swear. Really liking it so far just playing with it tonight at my desk at work.

You’re gonna have to give that club a nickname like “big tasty”....“the judge” or the sword of Joshua or some ****. You gotta love a 3/4” drive ratchet that comes with it’s own 3 foot cheater pipe! That things so overbuilt it’s almost comical. I’ve been wanting one of those damn things for years. Hope you got a toolbox it’ll fit in!

Lol all good ideas...i was gonna say Samuel L. or something :spit:

I do not have anything big enough to put this inside of for storage, no. Funny thing about impulse purchases, they aren't well thought out :lol_hitti

Probably just going to lean it in the corner of the pantry (closet) where I lean all my other long tools, 3' extension, xxl knipex cobras, 2' and 18" pipe wrenches, etc.
It has carpet on the floor and is dry.
The case my 3/4 sockets are in isn't large enough by a long shot.

Probably going to grab some fluid film and wipe it with that. Black oxided tools can flash rust in minutes under the right circumstances, being climate controlled helps a lot tho.

Edit: added pics.

That little Gerber knife is great, I have the girl in the office and my wife both using those now. They are small enough that the ladies don't fell intimidated by them and they fold up even smaller.

It is called the Gerber EAB Lite.
It takes a standard utility blade (and comes with one installed)
I picked this one up at Lowe's.
It is all metal, liner lock on open.
The clip is pretty tough - some of the reviews said that you could use it as a money clip.

Me too: I get what you are saying; I have several nice knives - but this one just looked right for what it is - an inexpensive utility blade holder.

Yep, it's the perfect marriage of size and utility.

I passed through KC on the way to Yellowstone on a camping trip with the family the past 3 weeks. I had to go check out HJE while I was there. Incredible place! The staff was awesome too. For whatever reason I wasn't planning on buying anything but then....I just had to have some stuff...

I'm finally upgrading my Craftsman RP wrenches with the WrightGrip 2.0's inb both standard and metric varieties. I'm going to keep the RP's in the drawer to supplement the Wrights or if I want to make sure not to mar some sort of fastener.

I also walked out with an SK 1/4 ratchet, a few Wright adapters and universals as well as an SK 1/2" impact universal.

On a side note, I played with several of the SK DT geared ratchets. Don't like them. The backdrag is too high and the two pawls seem to engage at the same time most of the time which sort of negates the purpose of the idea. The old style is where it's at.

Now that I have a nice toolbox obviously I need to start putting new (to me) stuff inside it to much spousal eye rolling. I've made do with a pretty crappy set of ratchets over the years, and have been scouring eBay for truck quality stuff after having waited for and ultimately been unimpressed with the Icon stuff. Picked up a GF80FOD and nearly new T72 for $65 total, and decided I could use the bent handled Tekton flex head on an upcoming brake caliper refurb on the 928 so went ahead and ordered it too. Still on the lookout for a Snap On long handled locking flex head in 3/8 but those deals seem a little harder to come by but I plan to be patient on that one.

I used to feel adequate with my 30" SK 1/2" breaker bar, now not so much!

The storage issue is easily forgotten. I got over revved on a 58" Mayhew pry bar. Like you say, just got to find a corner somewhere to lean it up into.

Enjoy the torque.

Let me know how you like that Teton flex head and how well it holds up.

I am considering ordering one. Thanks in advance.

HF 3/4" impact. To replace the cheaper $99 dollar one which was no better than a 1/2".736d5d4853d84ef0cffdf5c36caa2246.jpg

Patience is the key. I'm fine with buying pre-owned Snap-on and liked you said, you can find deals on Ebay from time to time.

Just a few new things I’ve gotten recently, last couple months roughly.

fbd4791391ee6c5b3fe73a82adbc8f05.jpg

Amazon wheel bearing removal/installation press.

11b00894294efb6f0185470a47f1b098.jpg

Think this one came from eBay? Hydraulic hole knock out set. Worked great to install gauges, although the die I used wasn’t quite big enough, I had to do just a little enlarging with a die grinder bit. The tool itself works great

71badb5359b4dc638820e280a75d0e30.jpg

Snap on 2/3 jaw puller. Expensive, but all good quality pullers are. And a small bearing separator plate.

9b956980f07042a8faa48f65bc62e50a.jpg

Grabbed a set of the icon metric ratcheting wrenches with the improved open end. These are great so far. Only had these a couple weeks, and they all work great except the 12mm switches itself mid ratchet occasionally. Did it the first time too so hopefully it’s not what’s to come for the rest.

1024d6d4651e55078ae5bedd6dc5d653.jpg

A set of snap on stubby torx, and a set of chrome 3/8 metric swivel sockets from snap on also.

f7b42f2e2e3ed5341538b6ae30ebde76.jpg

A butterfly impact from HF. I find myself using it more and more on certain things

04fd157ebf0fbe0ff6acf1b217c3e56a.jpg

A set of snap on scrapers.

bce6bc3b5675c4ecc497d9901abe4e13.jpg

And a flathead small engine valve spring compressor.

Picked up these Wilde Cotter Pin Extractors from HJE. I couldn't decide between the 7" or the 12", so I got both.

Wera 80 tooth insulated ratchet. I returned the Wiha 45 tooth insulated ratchet because it was stiff and direction lever fell off. I will also use outside in cold weather as the rubber will fell better in hand than metal .

I recently had a project needing metric hex driver. Cash flow was a little tight, and I needed the drivers in a hurry. I would normally buy domestic tools, this time, I opted for a Sunex set, made in Taiwan.

I was pleasantly surprised with the tools, chrome looks good, fits my fasteners quite well.

Received an email from Chapman last week stating that they were clearing out their shirts and hats for 30% off, both are USA made, Bayside brand.. so I picked up tool kit for my mountain bike as well! Also received my next SK socket of the month, which finished out the available 3/8" metric deepsab23187a4dffe502f6ca5b80304cad65.jpg990f6629997560c1eb80b5a3615b50c1.jpg

Not really mine, Mrs MikeF2316 grabbed this from IKEA for the kitchen drawer. $10. She put her "Alex" together with it.

Is that a diesel?

No, another 6.0. My other one has 230k and is still going strong, so I cannot complain. Upfront cost and cost of maintenance, not to mention the complex emissions systems, turned me away from a Duramax.

Averaged 16.5 MPG coming back from Indiana, which is probably a third better than my 2002 Silverado 2500HD gets

How well does this work? Never attempted to to one w/out removing the knuckle

it works ok. its nice to always have a driver/backer that fits well. with this kit, along with the rest of what i have i almost always have what i need. im in ND, and rust is horrible so a lot of the knuckles still need to come off and put in the press. but i still use this for the plates, helpful for instillation. just gotta be careful. you could impact the hell out of the nut, and the bearin will go crooked. so its best to tighten a couple tuns, and whack with a hammer, the shock straightens it out, then you can drive home. it works great, in the right hands like any other tool. well worth the price of $90. hell it costs me $90 every time i gotta fire up my lathe and make a driver :bounce:

I'm impressed! I hate diesels! I work in a parking lot environment where most of the contractor's trucks are diesels. I have to breath diesel exhaust all day. I hate it. When I saw your picture, I was very much hoping it was gasoline powered and apparently it is. :)

Chapman is local to me, wish I had known about the sale. I can't seem to find any of the apparel on their website, is a separate link you went to?

Yeah, the smell on the older ones/needing maintenance isn't pleasant. I'm sure we've all been behind a bus or something (emissions exemptions) where you flip it to inside air recirculate.

I wouldn't mind a Duramax but it wasn't in the cards for this one. Maybe next time :dunno:

New M12 Right Angle Die Grinder.

I have no idea how that zip-tie got on there. It seems to override the built-in safety measures carefully engineered by Milwaukee. I'll be sure to remove it to ensure safe operation. ;-)
