New M12 Right Angle Die Grinder.

I have no idea how that zip-tie got on there. It seems to override the built-in safety measures carefully engineered by Milwaukee. I'll be sure to remove it to ensure safe operation. ;-)

I saw a picture the other day and some poor guy had his safety mechanism fall off of his. That zip tie must help keep the safety mechanism from getting damaged during manufacturing and shipping. I wonder if they've forgotten to install it on some of them? You might want to keep it on there for a while. Just in case you need to ship it back for warranty work sometime in the next 5 years.

Been a little absent from social media lately. Anyways, here are some tools I picked up over the past few weeks.

BOGO on the 1/4" impact swivels on the truck. Couldn't resist since I've been wanting the 1/4" set for a while.

1/4" magnetic impact socket set

Another magnetic organizer tray

Not terribly obvious, but this is a 3/8" drive ratchet in a 1/4" body. Here is a side by side comparison of a normal 3/8" ratchet and this ratchet.

EZ Red 1/4 sq & bit ratchet.

1/4" impact for all the new 1/4" drive goodies.

Another set of cobras. Didn't have the 10". I think the 7" pair is my favorite.

And of course the freebie. Probably one of my favorite promo items I've gotten.

Bought some ICON goodness. Bought the 3/8 flex. And it happened to be one that wasn’t recalled and also 2 sets of the metric anti slip wrenches. Originally bought one set for the road box that I’m putting together but liked them enough to buy a set for the home box. They are much longer than my Facom metric wrenches

Stopped at Lowe's to grab a can of fluid film and found this. Lol if the standard and XL Vaughan Superbar are the same price, which one do YOU get?

I grabbed an XL at that price, already have the std. length and have abused the **** out of it without issue. Lowe's normal price is cheaper than Amazon, not bad I think.

I've been watching for a set of these for almost a year and was happy to get one that was sealed! Should make getting to some of the etorx fasteners on the bimmer a little easier.95a2872577e3af3a17925f6fce5cc650.jpg999bb16739d1487263a23f0ee85924c7.jpg

Good tip as that is $20 cheaper than KC. I already picked up the Wera set (which is now $66 @ KC's), but now I need to order the Hazet [emoji481]
I bought the wera from Amazon at 63.98 with next day shipping and Chad's gives some cash back... I have bought from and like kctool as well

I have both the standard and extra long and they are so simple but super handy everyone should have them! Whenever you need to pry or separate wood there is no better option.

Between these and the EZ-red extra long flex heads I feel it covers most needs for a ratcheting wrench. Cornwell sells the same set and you can find them a little easier on eBay once in awhile. Nice find!

Thanks - I had been watching for the cornwells too but nothing good came up. They were actually on special in the catalog last month but I didn't get a reply from any of the emails I sent to locate a local dealer. I have the Carlyle xl's and these should compliment nicely - I only wish they were reversible like the Napa's.

I have a different style of the snap ring pliers by Knipex, but they absolutely blow anything else I have used out of the water.

Which style do you have?

I was so excited to use mine yesterday, I'm assembling a 2 stroke trans with a lot of ext snap rings. But come to find out the smallest pliers in that set (1.3mm pins) don't fit the snap rings. Doh! Now I need to order a pair of their smaller size (.9mm pins)

I'd guess it's this set which I recently acquired as well. I think the primary difference is that the tips on these are made of spring steel and they're supposed to be a little more durable.

I got this set. It has the exact sizes I use for my dirtbike transmissions. Surprisingly, this set is 30% more expensive now than when I picked it up in January 2018... Inflation is a *****, buy now!

These are 1.3mm and 1.8mm but that is all I have had a need for. Never needed smaller. What bike are you working on?

The 0.9mm seem to the "J0" or "J01" designation. Can't seem to find which sets has all the 0.9mm pliers.

If I were to get the 0.9mm versions for my set for example. I would get 48 11 J0 and 49 11 A0 for Straight inside/outside pliers and 48 21 J01 and 49 21 A01 for 90 degree bend pliers. I think I might pick up the straight pliers individually, since I cant seem to find a set for the 0.9mm anywhere.

Current project is an '81 Yamaha IT175. I was surprised that the 1.3mm tips are too large, but they are. I already ordered the 49 21 A01's. I got that 8 piece set for about $85 shipped, which I thought was a great deal. The 49 21 A01 is about $24 on its own. Oh well.

BTW, I also found that the snap ring on the kick starter shaft is the same, 1.3mm wont fit. Need the .9mm's there too.

Picked up some new Oil Filter tools this week:
Lisle 63600 - Import Car Filter Wrench
Tekton 12" Oil Filter Pliers

Found that wife's new-to-her Mazda CX-5 oil filter is difficult to remove without some specialized tools. I have always used the 'band' style filter wrench on all my cars up to this point - but due to the plastic under-trays and the angle - need some additional help in removing the filter.

These should help.

$85 American is a great price for the set. I definitely wouldn't be paying $215 CAD that they are asking for it now.

If you found that on a '81 Yamaha, then I definitely need to pick up a set of 0.9mm. Haven't seen in on the gearboxes I have done, but will come across it eventually.

I just spent the better part of today getting the bottom end back together, actually the whole motor. It's ready to go in the frame and start up :)

Looks like Yamaha, or RMATV, has different suppliers for the snap rings. 1.3mm tips fit in some while others require .9mm tips (same O.D./I.D. snap rings). Weird.

Problem with the Hazet one is the ratchet. Stahlwille is nicer if you just want little kit of German tools with a decent ratchet and sockets.
Send me a link... seriously just buy the wera 1/4 set from amazon... it is awesome... I bought all 3 from Chad's when they gave the 10% discount 7 or so years ago...

That Stahlwille Advent set is nice but, I passed for two reasons. First they're 12 point sockets. Secondly, I think the stubby ratcheting screwdriver hails from Taiwan and not Germany. :dunno:
I did grab the Hazet & Wera Advent sets though.

Still a far better ratchet and I'd rather have a ratcheting screwdriver as opposed to the standard bit handle in the hazet or wera set. Wera screws around with their true COO all the time if that really mattered to you. The only thing in that set actually made in Europe are probably the bits and screwdriver handle.

As far as 12pt, that's a rust belt complaint you desert dweller. You could probably use an adjustable wrench on everything if you wanted.
