With any luck at all this little guy arrives tomorrow morning...I haven't been this excited about getting a new tool in a long time. Been looking for a while now, missed out on a couple, and can definitely use it to keep my $h!t together. Ed.

I would love an actual forklift. We have a cannibalized forklift converted to three point hitch to run on a small tractor but a dedicated unit would be handy as heck.

I had all my family over a few weeks ago and I only had a 4 person dining room table for everybody to sit at.....so everybody was standing.
So "I" decided "I" wanted a large farm table for family get togethers. I started looking to buy one but realized that most of the very good quality ones, made with good wood, are crazy expensive. So I decided to try to make one. I did some research on the tools that I would need and headed off to the wood working store. I already have the usual wood tools, (miter saw, track saw, circular saw, jig saw, clamps, drills, levels, etc.), but these tools are the major new ones, (Domino XL, sander, router, track).
One of them is a Festool Domino XL. It makes joining two pieces of wood accurately and tightly easy using Festools proprietary "dominos". It is AMAZING! And being a rookie wood worker, I can say for sure that I couldn't have done it without the Domino XL. I used about 200 140mmx27mmx14mm dominos in it. Festool also makes special connectors to use with the Domino so I used 36 of them to attach the top to the base so the top is removable from the base. I did that because the table top weighs about 350 pounds and the base is about the same. I also got the Festool shop vac and it works great with their tools to keep the dust down.
The table is 9'x47" and it turned out awesome.

Vessel Screwdrivers JIS screwdrivers made in Japan. Best fitting JIS screwdrivers by far On top of that, I can use em with Phillips screws and they grip Phillip screws better than my regular Phillips screwdrivers. Love that the screwdrivers have a built in impact driver.

This has been posted a ton but the whole JIS isn’t really a thing anymore. Philips standards have changed. If you pick up a regular PH screwdriver these days it should fit both PH and JIS PH screws. Still could be a great screwdriver, not knocking that, but I’m tired of all this JIS talk.

The standards may have changed, the nomenclature may have changed and standards may have been combined, but if you work on Japanese motorcycle the JIS screw is definitely something you still come across. Hell even my Makita has JIS screws, marked by a dimple.

Sears also carry a craftsman rebrand of the vessel impacta and they go on-sale from time to time. Coo is also Japan.

OK I finally pulled the trigger on a new miter saw.
My old RIGID 12” was not cutting too square, too many hard
Trips and being moved. Ive had it for over 20 years...
Replaced by the DeWalt DWS779
Dual bevel sliding 12” saw.
Got her all mounted to the mobile base...
I could not justify the additional $250. For the new DWS780 ...
So for $350. Plus $80. In parts I just ordered to convert it to
The new shadow guide system. I’m happy.
I’ll post how the install and operation of the guild system works out.

Maybe they should, but I find they don't. Nothing fits the screws on my Japanese motorcycles like the Vessel. My Wiha drivers fit well, too, but nothing made in the USA, not even the Snap-on I've used.

Agreed. Wera I'll use in a pinch, but my motorcycle gets the vessel treatment. Using a Snap-on Phillips on my motorcycle screws is an instant trip to strip city

If I'm not mistaken, Vessel actually was involved in developing the original JIS standard.

The machinery we have at work still rolls off the assembly line with JIS screws in them denoted by the dimple. JIS is still alive and proper screwdrivers are a must. Phillips is still a **** design that will torque out many screw heads by design and many USA found screwdrivers still follow that design which is poor practice. I believe you are trying to reference the the ISO and DIN versions of a phillips driver that many imported bits adhere to. Those are much better than standard Phillips and work pretty well on JIS also. JIS was supposed to have gone away for the ISO/DIN standard, but it still continues.

Got tired of trying to purge old wheel bearing grease in the bearings on our trailer mounted pumps with a pistol-grip grease gun, so I upgraded to an M12. Another tech at our shop has a 20v Dewalt, and it is a dream to use on bearings, compared to the manual gun.

Nice, link to purchase? Thanks
I got mine from Tool Discounter. Best price I could find, with delivery factored in. They have them drop-shipped directly from Associated, so it took a bit over a week for delivery.

Associated model 9425 Intellimatic Pro.. It is one of their few models with start and forget it smart charging, plus can be used as a 20amp power supply as well.

The picture on everyone's web site is an old one. The current model does have the two rocker switches, the second being for a dead battery "waker-upper". Link to Associated site showing correct picture, the model you will receive.

Picked thes up on super sale from Amazon. Used the 3/8" round over and chamfer bit on a project this weekend. The soft start, speed control, and NVH are excellent. The fine adjustment in the height is no where near as bad as people make it out.

False. JIS is still definitely a thing, and not all screwdrivers fit them well.

At Princess Auto a hook set https://www.titan-us.com/contentonly.aspx?file=images/items/17222_l.jpg and a Grip stubby wrench set. The Titan hook set is made in Taiwan and should be OK, but the Grip stubbies are made in India ! But at $6.99, who knows. I don't earn my living with tools any more, being retired on a pension. It's surprising that even a super cheap tool like these stubbies are nicely made. I would say better than the last Chinese tools I picked up.

WOOT deals, currently advertised.

Astro inside and outside snap ring pliers, w/the small tips, .050" & they also offer .067" tips pliers, but I haven't seen those on WOOT.

Astro SAE and metric nut-sert tools, complete with multiple mandrels for each, and a selection of female inserts, of different sizes.

They shipped quickly and were well-packed.

Added a few new ratchets to go with my 20 year old Craftsman stuff. There is more on the way from Carlyle and Gearwrench.

I had one just like that, I searched quite some time for a reasonably priced goose egg motor cover but couldn't find one and ultimately had to sell it before I moved. That's a very nice example of one of the earliest Unisaws.
