I picked up a set of Bondhus Pro Hold Socket Inserts a few weeks ago and just picked up a set of Craftsman USA G1/G2 1/4" (for the 4mm and 5mm) and 3/8" (for the 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm) sockets to put them in.

They seem to hold tight now, but time will tell on the little plastic bits (most of which came off as they were pressed into place).

The packaging is a bit deceiving, these will not snap into place. They must be pressed / tapped into place and are mostly permanent. They will come out when tapped from the other direction, but they need to be tight to be effective.

Traded in a ratchet for this one that we made on the truck. For whatever reason, SO doesn't sell a ratchet this long with a quick release head, so we got the longest locking flex head ratchet, and swapped the quick release head from another one.

Also picked up more magrails. How can anyone not love magrails?!

Lots of good stuff here. Designer, nicely made bit sockets.

Ebay, Amazon and the SO truck treated me well. I traded a large stack of cash for a small stack of tools :)

SO, Williams USA, Knipex and one lone Wright in here. FYI Amazon has a lot of Knipex for deep discounts right now.

The little ratchet is the one I was most excited for.

A few odds & ends from SEMA coupons and Veteran's Day sales.

First off, Tekton goodness in the form of a 3/8 drive shallow chrome six point set 6-24 mm. The rail is the wrong color for metric but, the sockets are nicely finished inside and out, nice size marking even if there's only one. Couldn't decide if I wanted shiny screwdriver blades or black so, i got both. you can really never have too many 1/4 flat tip or Phillips#2 screwdrivers anyway. they look outstanding out of the box, time will tell if they're a winner-winner-chicken dinner or not. Then there's an 18 inch long 3/8 drive breaker bar. What i like about this version is that it's a half inch drive sized handle with a 3/8 drive head. SK makes a long 3/8 drive breaker bar but, it's not any beefier than their standard length 3/8 model. :wtf:

Next up is a 3/8 drive flex head ratchet from Capri tools. It's 72 tooth, measures 11.75 inches overall, and has some really nice chrome with a goat head logo on the ratchet head. this is what a current Craftsman ratchet should be like. Unlike most of your higher toothed count ratchets, this ratchet skips the floating pawl design and goes old school with the bat shaped pawl gear thereby skipping many issues associated with the floating pawl design. It's smooth and crisp, with 6 teeth engaged in either direction. Head isn't as thin as a Gearwrench though, about 9/16 thick. I'll see how it works out.

Lastly, a Milwaukee M12 ninety degree die grinder. I jumped on the bandwagon and I'm looking for to taking this to work next week. I think Milwaukee cheaped out on the housing by the four speeds. Instead of moulding each speed next its corresponding number in the housing, like 1 = 10K RPM, they stuck a decal on the housing. I don't the decal will last long. Perhaps Milwaukee will correct this on future versions.

I think that decal is meant to come off and you’re just supposed to know and use their manual and guide for what attachments to use at what speeds. But I see your point though. Might have been too hard to fit all that info though on the back without using super tiny font.

I couldn’t find any Tekton codes from SEMA posted anywhere. Got any to share? I had work in NM, so I couldn’t use my passes.

Sorry, Tekton learned quickly a couple of years ago and started using unique one time use codes on their SEMA handouts. 15% off with free shipping and reward points is sweet to me at least

I uses to have one of those little ratchets. Not cheap. I lost it and didnt feel like paying for another one, but I really liked it.

What are the chances of my wife finding this thread? She's started calling me sockets..

A slew of impacts from Sunex, some new screwdrivers and eight new ratchets on the way.

Edit:. Forgot the Icon breaker bar and snap ring pliers set.

Buying a new tool box sure was expensive..

Thanks for posting that picture for my lustful eyes. :)

Snap-on wrenches have always been the easiest for me to handle.

It’s a 1/4” drive TKF72, doesn’t show up on SO’s store but they’re available elsewhere.

3/8” would be FKF80a
1/2” SKF80a

I’ve got those on order after I played with the 1/4” version.

$68 bucks on Amazon always wanted the Bosch 12v Barrel grip jig saw so that is on its way also.
Decided to buy Hose clamps by bulk instead of a couple bucks for 2 or 3 so 70 clamps with the rack for $19.99 was a decent deal imo

For $19.99 that's not a bad deal at all!

Did you also get that from Amazon? :headscrat

Really like the supplied rack they came with!

A few recent purchases from KC Tool, amazon.de, and Wiha's recent 40% sale. But first, a little tool set from one of the white vans. Or, at least, from their website.

View media item 98384View media item 98386
After stripping a 2.5mm hex screw with a standard bit (Wiha) but finding I could still turn it get it off with a Wera hex plus precision screwdriver, I'm swapping out all of my hex bits for Wera, starting with the little ones. Wiha ball ends were on the way before that revelation. Wiha 4mm bits are inch hex. Wiha Ultradriver is a perfect "stick it in the glovebox" driver. This one is my third or fourth. Currently $20 direct from Wiha, or I think $23 from KC Tool.

The new Wiha Picofinish 4mm bit handle does fit in their super handy little tin can set. It closes.
