I picked these up the other day to take up to the station and keep in my box up there.

The small die grinder is a Tool Shop brand from Menard's and was like $7. I wanted a 3" cut off tool from HF but they were out. I had a 25% off coupon so I stepped up and bought the 4" version. Same as the 3" but a larger guard. It didn't matter, the guard came off. I know, guard removal but it seems the guards always restrict getting it where it needs to be or what you're cutting.

Between the 25% off, a pack of 5 cut off wheels, die grinder and cut off tool, I'm out of pocket about $20.

Since this is our first Christmas as empty nesters, the wife and I opened one gift this morning.

She said this wasn't what she ordered but I would take advantage of it. I put down a Lufkin tape measure on the list and she order ONE tape measure.

However, the person packing the order put sent one BOX.

Santa was very good to me this year! Can't wait to try out the m12 ratchet and nano sockets. The fan clutch kit will be extremely helpful in my 92 blazer project!

Merry Christmas GJ!

My Christmas gifts. Metabo made in China compressor and Lux accessories. Also picked up the Gearwrench 84 tooth ratchet set and some Sata (APEX China Gearwrench) pliers and wrenches for the kids. All were great deals on Amazon even though
I don’t need them. Even though I have way too many ratchets, I figured I will give the 84Ts a try as my road set and wanted to see if I like the European style pliers handles. I was planning on getting the Tekton 3/8 ratchet but these were too good a deal to pass up. I also picked up some Steinhel heat gun nozzles.
Merry Christmas and sorry for the crappy photos.

^^^I think you got 84 tooth Gearwrench ratchets. The 90 tooth ratchets have a series of lines behind the direction switch, and the all metal handles have an orange line around them. The set part numbers also end in T.

Yep, you're right. I got mixed up with the Tektons I was also considering. 84T, I didn't want the 120T based on the feedback on GJ. These were too good a deal to pass up.

The 84 tooth is a pretty good ratchet, in my opinion. I buy very little Gearwrench but I have the 84 tooth in 1/2" locking flex. I mostly bought it because it was affordable but I've used it quite a bit now and I like it.

My new tool arrival is the Hackzall. Compact size compared to a Sawzall. 1 hand operation.

So far in the week I had it, with the appropriate blade, have cut an exhaust pipe on the car, pruned branches, cut wood, cut a plastic barrel.

I love the Hackzall.

I love the Hackzall.

Make sure you oil your wrist before using this with one hand... I used the wrong blade and it kept snagging... just bout wiggled my wrist into pieces.

Awesome tool... my Sawzall is now forever in the nitch behind my tool cart... collecting all kinds of dust.

snapons have been out for more than a few years now. they use a cam setup.

side note. my tekton stubbys sae/metric and usa made nut pliers came in. Just waiting on my 4 way wrenches to come in. probably closer to the end of the year for those though.

Oh yeah, they changed the design all right. I decided today to take mine down and try cleaning and SuperLubing them and wow, what a difference! The 3/8 one has a fraction of the backdrag it did and changes direction without fighting. The 1/4 saw the same improvements only intermittently as some of the sprag rollers picked up a bit of corrosion and you can really feel it. Changing direction is still a fight but now it's because the sprag assembly moves so freely now you need a socket on the drive to hold it in place to change direction. They had some super thick grease in the direction change mechanism that really gummed things up. I dumped all the little bits in kero to soak while I cleaned the major components and man what a difference. If these ratchets had worked this well when I bought them they would likely have seen a LOT more use rather than sitting in my box for the past 17 years. After my Craftsman Triwing ratchet and now these two I kinda want to open up, clean and relube all my ratchets. LOL

36mm Williams Supercombo Made in USA!

Gift from my brother and sister-in-law.

The last size wrench I use that I didn’t have at least one USA version of.

Also got the M12 Fuel Hackzall from parents.

A friend scooped this up off of Craigslist for me in exchange for a pair of bench vises I had. Everybody wins, right?

Condition could not be better, and for as long as I've been looking, I have never seen one entirely complete. This one even had the original hex wrench with it. Seller claimed it was used once and kept in the original box (above) as a spare. Having checked it out pretty thoroughly since it got here, I have no doubt that was the case:

Dang!
