A few weeks ago, had to have the Gas Co. out to look at something. They guy had a big foam knee mat. I thought... "That's interesting", so I did some looking.

This just arrived today. I think it's going to be a big improvement over the little garden knee pad I've been using.

Now, I just need a magnetic hook so I can hang it on the side of my toolbox.

Dig a few holes in the back and glue some string magnets into the mat.

Also scored these stubbies from the same time period, also nos! Both the screwdrivers and the wrenches came from a sweet estate sale haul. The wrench set is missing the 1” in case someone has one?

I think those stubbies were made by S-K. They're equal to Snap On IMO and go for a good penny on ebay.

Got this for a friend doing a hub conversion soon to help him out. It's actually not a bad piece of kit tbh even though it's not as nice as my Astro kit that is now missing the screw and nut after loaning it out

It was time for some new organization items. First on the list, 3 cell Ernst organizer.

Next was 3 Ernst Pliers Racks. I loved having all of my pliers laying flat in a 2in drawer, but I needed more space, so swapped some things around and put the pliers into a 4in drawer using the racks. An added benefit by placing all of the racks against the front of the drawer...I can open the drawer about 12in and see all of my pliers.

Now I need to figure out how to store T-Handles efficiently...

Are the Ernst rails the same width between all the slots? I have the wire rack style rails, and don't get much use out of the extra wide slots they put on one end. You may have converted me.

I store my t handles vertically on a rack. If you lay them flat, they take up far too much drawer space

I believe they are, if I remember correctly, and that is why I converted to them from wire racks. They fit thicker handles like Wiss and Midwest snips. Small pliers I double up in a slot. I could never find wire racks that fit my tin snip handles nicely.

Snap On man had a nice BOGO promo. I barely have any SAE tools, so I figured I may as well get em while they're cheap. Buy the deeps, get the shallows free. Also picked up a zero offset wrench, VIM magrails, and some zephyr bits.

Belt tensioner for a 996/997 911 is a 24mm. It's convenient being able to grab a tool that works without any set "set up" to remove a belt. I'm sure convenient isn't what people think of when working on a rear engine car, but I absolutely love it.

These Zephyr bits are awesome. They're the private label manufacturer for Snap On. I actually prefer these to the SO's as these have a coating on them that prevent them from rusting. The SO's rust far too easily. I think I paid ~$5 for the pack of 10 bits, and like $3 for the long bit.

Never never loan.

I had a buddy one time and if you loaned him some thing for a couple days it would take you a week to get it back because he would loan it to some one else if they needed it. One time it cost me a 69 Nova, after I haven't loaned anything to any one.

These wrenches are some of my favorites. I've managed to find a 14mm/17mm and 17mm/19mm for cheap at estate sales, but I'm thinking about plunking down the cash for a full set because they're so convenient for suspension/alignment work.

The Neiko set and the three Knipex pliers were gifts. I did buy the Mac VR2690FPA a couple
weeks back, and love it. Might get a couple more with that comfort grip, but I do plan on adding
all new Mac steel handles to the arsenal.

I was thinking the same thing, and for the most part, they do work, but the largest sizes don't fit in between the uprights. I did see gearwrench makes and adjustable version, but at $17 a piece, that gets spendy real quick.

I was thinking about replacing the Craftsman t-handles with Klein Journeyman versions as they come with nice metal stands or I am exploring replacing them all with the Bondhus hex pro style that store in a very compact way.

I have the gearwrench racks and like them well enough. Though I prefer the ones that were made by Olsa. They have an aluminum base instead of plastic like the gearwrench. It makes it a lot easier to adjust the dividers. But they pretty quickly stopped selling them. I'm guessing gearwrench bought an exclusive license for the design from them. Anyway the price fluctuates between $15 and $17 on amazon, so you may find them cheaper if you keep an eye on them.

If your willing for them to stand up then Bondhus sells the stand seperatly.

Now I'm on the lookout for a good pair of Italian pliers to complete the Axis theme.
The Beta pliers are pretty nice and have some of the cleanest shiny chrome finishes I've seen from any of the European brands.

If your SO cart does not have one already, you could order a slots n dots panel for the side and use SO t handle rack.

I never thought of that lol.

The Mac and Facom are made from the same manufacturer, exceptional wrenches and the offset of the box end is amazing. I currently have the Facom 440’s for my SAE set and have had no regrets.
