I picked up this GearWrench 120XP 3/8 Drive Flex Teardrop. Reviews were OK to mixed - It fits the needs that I have for my projects. So far - very smooth, not a lot of backdrag. I am happy with it.

You can order those Tone ratchets from Amazon.jp. Shipping is usually pretty fast.

Yup.

BTW, these are GREAT leads. Fast shipping too, ordered them direct from ProbeMaster website. Best $25 I've spent in a while.

My Fluke leads were still good so I kept putting off getting a set. Finally got frustrated one day not having an alligator clamp and ordered up a set. I wish I would of done it the day I got my meter they are so good.

Picked up the Mac Tools torx extractor set. I already have the hex set. They work really really well, so long as the fastener they are being used in is a high enough grade that the bit doesn’t just rip the head apart.

Already removed one nasty plug this week with them.

Ridgid HD1200 shop vac 12 gal/5 hp. It is the smallest model of theirs (I think) that takes the 2-1/2" locking hose and accessories.

I've used it once to clean up a small mess. It has more power than an older, similar sized Ridgid I've used in the past. The top handle serves as cord storage, which is nice. However it is only held on with 2 screws and seems flimsy, same with the side "wings" for retaining the hose. Time will tell, I did register for the lifetime warranty.

Coo= Mexico

I bought it at HD for $80, they had the older model on the shelf (WD1270) and the upgraded NXT version, that I got, the HD1200 was hidden up on top of the shelves. The display model was HD1200. Hopefully I made the right choice lol.

This actually arrived a few weeks ago, but today was my first opportunity to use it. It was something of a stretch for me to buy it. Not financially, but rather because it meant a new cordless platform. All my 12v stuff prior to this is Bosch, but this is the only 12v oil-impulse out there. I got it for one primary reason: it's a lot quieter. And using it today I confirmed that it is a lot quieter than my Bosch Brushed motor first generation 12v impact driver.

All I can say is, "Worth it." Every other maker should come out with one. These are the impacts most likely to be used in small, enclosed spaces, and most in need of not being so loud.

That one what what tipped me into all this mess. When I was repairing my deck, the sound of my old C3 pushing deck screws was more exhausting than the physical work. The SURGE is butter. And fast. Awesome tool.

New rigid shop vac after my “shop vac” brand Black Friday special from a few years ago gave up the ghost. This was $109 from Home Depot with the “free” detail kit. So far I’m impressed.

You want to hear impressive?

My Amazon Japan orders show up within 2 days via regular shipping.

Local amazon orders take longer :lol_hitti

From when they ship it. They may not immediately ship.

^THIS! I have had Amazon orders (I don't pay their protection, I mean prime money) That were pulled, boxed and sitting in their warehouses for MONTHS because they gave their shipping estimate with an arrival date 3 months off. Then they'd send me an update after it had been sitting in their warehouse for a month "Hey we're going to ship your order a month early isn't that great!" Yeah, only two months to ship something from Minneapolis hooray. :headscrat
Today however I snagged a couple things from Menards. I was going to grab that MasterForce Torx driver set after seeing it in the Torx driver thread, unfortunately it was out of stock so I just got the T40 and I'll look for the set next week. I also got Tekton's low profile 90T 1/4 ratchet and that thing is NICE not to mention tiny. When they say it's low profile they're not kidding around. Now I'm just waiting for the wood handled Felo screwdriver set I ordered to arrive.

Needed some rotator (double drive) ratchets for a hard to reach bolt on the Mercedes. Impressed so far:

Picked up this no-name from Amazon. Nothing fancy, China I guess. I just needed a few sizes.

Did the ratchet come from Menards? I have five Menards around me, none of them have Tekton.

Haha no sorry, I ordered it online. It just happened to be on the porch when I got back from town today so into the picture it went. Meijer's has Tekton but IIRC all the ratchets they have on the shelves are "quick" release ratchets which I can't stand. I'd have to drive halfway across the state to hit 5 Menard's. LOL

SnapOn socket bit set- I scored this off of eBay for about 1/3 of retail

Knipex flush cut pliers for zip ties

Astro 78930.jpg
Astro Pneumatic disconnect set; I will be using it this weekend. I picked the Astro over the Lisle version because of the great customer service I've read about here.

I have some ripping to do and aren't all that great with my table saw just yet

Fairly decent day for tool acquisitions.

Ordered a nice array of torx impact bits. Three different sizes starting with T10 to T40. While I can confirm Zypher is the private label manufacturer, ease of warranty is definitely worth the few extra bucks if you have access to a reliable, good dealer.

Snap On BOGO's are my kyptonite. I'll never turn them down, especially when I needed something like this over the weekend. For the first time ever, I ran into a situation where a socket head screw was right up against something, so my normal hex bit sockets wouldn't fit into the hex.

I also ordered this out of sheer curiosity; snap on calls it a demo bar. I'm sure I'll find a use for it during house reno projects.

Saw this as an ad on instagram and immediately jumped onto amazon to order one. Love the size and shape of it! My vehicle uses lug bolts, so the little free magnetic trays you get at harbor freight can barely hold the 5 lug bolts. A little steep at $20, but I've got a lot of reward points to use. :)

I got those from my SO dealer (SO branded). I found that if you're trying to source individual bits, it's best to just go with a SO dealer if you have one. I've warrantied several broken or worn out bits with him, so big perk there. If you compare SO prices to a distributor like MRO, it's like a $1 difference. The only time I have seen a a worth while savings, is if you buy a kit.

Here is a link to an example. $75 savings/56% savings if you get the Zypher branded kit vs the SO branded kit.

I had that exact ratchet but it was branded Husky. Bought it years ago at the local HD. It sat in my box for years and I just gave it to my nephew a couple of months ago. Its pretty well made.

When I picked up a belt for a 18" rock saw I'm repairing for the club, the bearing and industrial supply had clearance bin on the counter with Armstrong USA, metric DOE wrenches, $5 and $10 .Six ended up costing me $40, up to 22mm. Full polish, pretty. I'm missing a couple of sizes, I'll get some Grays to fill in. As traditional with engineers wrenches, the same size is on a couple of wrenches. Yes I know, they aren't likely original Armstrong, but still a made in USA for 1/4 the price of a Taiwanese made replacement Gearwrench.

I was browsing the local classifieds last night and found an ad for $2 wrenches. There was only one bad photo, but I thought I recognized the script on one of the wrenches as Snap-on. I sent a message last night to get an address and broke out of work for a few minutes today to head over there.

Picked up...

2 MAC wrenches
1 Williams Superrench
Plomb WF-79 DBE
Carlyle 13mm (only picked this up because the lighting in the garage was terrible and the font for the sizing looked like Snap-on.) :lol_hitti
Blue Point 10mm
Blue Point 9mm ratcheting wrench
Snap-on 19,18,17,16,15, and 14mm ratcheting wrenches
Snap-on 13mm
Snap-on 10mm
Snap-on 5/16"
Snap-on 3/4" stubby wrench

Took the lot home for $34 :bounce:
