I was browsing the local classifieds last night and found an ad for $2 wrenches. There was only one bad photo, but I thought I recognized the script on one of the wrenches as Snap-on. I sent a message last night to get an address and broke out of work for a few minutes today to head over there.

Picked up...

2 MAC wrenches
1 Williams Superrench
Plomb WF-79 DBE
Carlyle 13mm (only picked this up because the lighting in the garage was terrible and the font for the sizing looked like Snap-on.) :lol_hitti
Blue Point 10mm
Blue Point 9mm ratcheting wrench
Snap-on 19,18,17,16,15, and 14mm ratcheting wrenches
Snap-on 13mm
Snap-on 10mm
Snap-on 5/16"
Snap-on 3/4" stubby wrench

Took the lot home for $34 :bounce:

I finally went and ordered the wooden handled Felo drivers from Menards and FedEx just dropped them off. Like many of you I'm sure, I'd been wanting to give them a shot since seeing the disembodied hands on AvE using them and man they are nice! They're the Matte finish and I can definitely see why some people sand them down and hit them with BLO or Danish oil. I'm gonna give them a bit though as the lacquer finish really isn't that bad.

SATA (division of Apex Tools) 1/4" ratchet. 72 tooth and very identical to Gearwrench. $10. The 3/8" and 1/2" version are a little more dough, but not by much.

Snapon delivered the power tool holder for my bottom drawer, had to modify it slightly to fit. And picked up a set of hi-viz pry bars.

I picked up some new disk brake tools: the kit does both RH and LH rear calipers, along with the spacers and plates for most of the cars I work on; and some caliper hangers when changing out the rotors.

How do you use those? They obviously have screw holes for mounting them to a work surface I would assume.

varies.

I've got 1/4-20 bolts that fit through the holes for mounting them into t-track, I've used them on their own with clamps to help square up materials for gluing, screwing, welding etc.

depends on what I'm making.

could screw them directly to a surface as well if you'd like.

Nice purchases.

One of the people who delivered an Amazon package tried to squeeze it between my front door and the storm door. The door didn't close all the way and the door closer ripped out of the plastic bottom. I used that riveter kit to sink two rivnuts into the plastic and used some small bolts to bolt it back to the door. You could only notice the difference if you got on your hands and knees and looked straight at it.

Better than buying a new door or putting a strip all across the bottom.

I see you have the same makita impact driver I have and the little matco 1/4 or 3/8 impact. I always thought they looked like they could be the same tool, different drive ends. Are the batteries interchangeable? Is the matco really just a rebadged makita?

Thanks for sharing. That’s a good deal and a good product, I have the Husky version (also APEX). The soon to be released 3/8 for $12 is a steal too.

Granco was a tool manufacturer located in Grandview, MO that primarily did work for the government and has since gone out of business.

A few things that arrived recently:

Vessel Megadora eight piece Jawsfit screwdriver set. Comfortable handles, nice knurling on blade shaft. Phillips sizes have teeth on the edges of their tips.

Gearwrench two piece 1/4 & 3/8 90 tooth comfort grip flex head ratchet set. New orange and black color scheme, slightly different shape comfort grip handles, nice crisp action. supposedly hardened pawl gear. One thing I don't care for out of the box is the 1/8 inch gap between the ratchet head edges and the the handle fork. pictured next to a well used Gearwrench 60 tooth flex head for comparison. :wtf:

Proto nine inch long 1/4 precision 90 flex head ratchet. Proto wins the all metal handle shape design with the two bands of knurling on a tapered handle.

Upgraded Proto 3/8 drive precision 90 tooth ratchet. gear cover screws run from top to bottom now.

One end deburs the inside, the other end chamfers the outside, prepped for flaring.

I’m almost looking forward to the next time I have to do brake lines now.

New to me Carlyle Digital Angle torque wrenches 1/2” and 3/8” eBay finds
Also, Capri screwdriver and torq set they had a deal on, gave the screwdrivers to my brother as I didn’t really care for the feel of them and he needed them but kept the torq driver set.
Also went ahead and picked up the Carlyle mini air grinder set for a steal of a price out of the real deals catalog

"almost" is the key word there ;)

Yeah. It’ll be my truck. SWMBO’s Camry is too new to need anything. The hot rod is all Cunifer, and doesn’t see bad weather much. The Dakota is about half cunifer now, and the body is rusting away. Fortunately, I work from home, so if the Dakota is down for a while, it’s not a big deal.

You stole it for that price. Look online and on Facebook, there are a lot of pages / posts that give good tips on using them for various troubleshooting jobs.

Those look like a good idea. Are the magnets strong enough to grip through drawer liners? Do they stay put?

I think they are gonna grip thru drawer liner. Not ready to put the heavy liner up against them yet. They hold pretty tite with the waffle weave style liner. Gotta finish restoration on that box before i put them in the drawers.

I was looking at the FLIR E4s where you can unlock the firmware to make it an E8 (they all use the same high resolution thermal camera but downgrade it with software). Those E4s already unlocked are around $800 used. Really hard to justify 5-6 times the price for a slightly better image. The image is much clearer on the E8, but not 5-6 times the price. The Snap-on also goes up far higher temperature wise than the FLIR E series (875-900f vs 450-480f).

It’s a really intriguing diagnostic tool for all those situations you don’t have an error code or any data from the computers to indicate a problem. Fills in the gap rather nicely.

One end deburs the inside, the other end chamfers the outside, prepped for flaring.

I’m almost looking forward to the next time I have to do brake lines now.

Complete game changer when doing double flares.
