Yea Dentaltec, this is going to be a project. It runs great. It’s just dirty.
The previous owner had an enormous forklift to load it. To unload it, I winched it to the back of the trailer, then the trailer slowly tilted and I was able to slide it down the ramp. I cribbed under the trailer ramp with some wood. From there I picked it with my Ex-cel engine hoist and dropped it onto a pallet jack.
I had been looking for a mill for a long time. I missed out on a nice Bridgeport with boxes of tooling, 2 vises, and X power feed for $1,000. I offered the guy $1,400 and he said I was second in line if the first guy balked. Well, the first guy snapped up that one.
I was feeling really bummed and sorry for myself so I thought what the hell, I’ll try FB marketplace again. There was this Wells Index with the text, “First $300 takes it!” The ad was 26 minutes old. I texted the guy back, “I’ll have $400 to you within the hour!” He texted me his number and I had a rental trailer and the money to him in about an hour. He told me his phone was blowing up as I was talking to him.
The Kurt vise was buried under a pile of chips. It has the swivel base as well. The PO threw in a box of about 50 end mills, 5 NMTB30 tool holders, and a Jacobs chuck for an additional $50.
The FB, Craigslist, eBay gods we’re smiling upon me that day.
