Got a few new tools recently.

12v Power Torque mini polisher and 3/8 impact wrench.

Carlyle ratchets; R38L90, R38S and R1490. I swapped the Carlyle handles off for Williams hard handles.

Finally, a set of Icon anti-slip ratcheting wrenches I got off ebay.

I am a big fan of comfort grip screwdrivers so I ordered a few Wera Kraftform Comfort grip screwdrivers to try out. PH0, PH1 PH2 and .8x4mm. I just got them, but they feel great in the hand and I like them a lot. The handles feel like a combination of the Felo Profi and the Felo Ergonic. I may need to get more...

I will most likely make another thread about my comparison regarding the different screwdrivers in my collection, but here is comparison shot.

Felo Profi VDE (Germany), Williams Hard Handle (USA), Felo Ergonic (Germany), Wera Kraftform Comfort (Czech Republic), Snap On Hard Handle (USA). All PH2 size.

I wasn't ready to buy a 3/4" impact yet, or even new socket sets for the occasional times I would want them, like stubborn crankshaft bolts, so I got this beast a guy at a previous shop I worked with had, and the tech I apprenticed under had. The wright 6425 railroad ratchet, and a Williams reducer. This is the most solid iron tool I have ever held.

Cool! And here I've been alive all these years and never knew I needed a 42" long ratchet until today :lol_hitti New for only $170'ish seems like a pretty good deal for anything that size https://www.zoro.com/wright-knurled-ratchet-34-drive-42-l-black-6425/i/G1901538/

...Also bought a utility trailer in an effort to convince myself I don’t need a pickup truck. Fabform 5x8. Was originally going to go with a 5x10, but it was a little hard to drag around by hand.

I was strongly considering a pickup when I unexpectedly inherited a utility trailer.

The urge for a pickup quickly faded.

The trailer is much easier to load and unload than a pickup bed, I can drag it with just about any vehicle, I don't have to haul it around with me when I'm not using it, it's easier to strap stuff down, it's more versatile, I don't need to worry about keeping the trailer pretty and I can add wooden sides when I need to haul loose stuff.

All in all, the trailer has been a lot more useful than I ever thought.

I love my 5x10 trailer. Have a trailblazer. I don’t think I’d want a truck to be honest. The SUV is so handy for the family, and the trailer gives me all the moving capability I ever occasionally need.

I didn’t know there was a new style of pliers wrench until I saw them posted by Sweet Victory a few pages back. So naturally, I had to order a pair. Also got a new potato peeler.

I was working on a project and needed a phillip head screw starter. I have one for slotted screws but not phillip head. I called 3 Home Depot’s and went to Lowe’s (my favorite store) and nobody knew what I was talking about. I ended up ordering one from Amazon. I guess not many people even know what they are.

Some grinding in the future...
crzyoTy.jpg

Sorry for no pix (yet). I did set it up with the stand tonight - it's decent, though the grinder barely fits on it and the bolts that come with the stand to mound the grinder are just a hair from being too long. It's decently heavy cast iron, but I took a couple old rotors and tossed them through the pole with some cardboard in between to add some additional weight.

I'm definitely getting an angle guide - the stock ones entirely basic.

Have a wire wheel, and planning to get a couple polishing wheel, but first on the list of things to accomplish is fixing a chisel I screwed up when I got frustrated during a project...

Since as I get older my hands have more difficulty with small items, I figured someday this might come in handy. [emoji1303]IMG_2107.jpg

I just received an Alemite grease fitting assortment and Thread Checker gauges. Both are made in the U.S.A. Also got some Lock n Lube couplers.

I saw the 516 in another thread so I’d thought I’d get one. It’s nice a thin.

I bought the thread checkers last year and have used them a lot! More than I ever expected. Combined with the Lang rethreader kit I've fixed a lot of threaded items.

Dewalt DT7505 flex impact bit holder.

Slide collar to switch between straight and flex.

Find it works but quite difficult to use as it's magnetized and wants to snap back straight all the time.

If you like the concept but not Dewalt's implementation, try Matador or Witte.

Matador - allegedly made in Italy - at least the box was printed there :) - has a slightly stronger magnet than Witte but has not snapped back on me yet in use. The knurling is well executed.

Witte (claimed German make; no known reason to doubt) isn't quite as useful. There's some glare from the shiny collar if you're using it in a dark area with illumination. Also it's much longer. Around twice the price, too.

Between the two, I prefer Matador.

PS: Würth drill?

I need to pick up a set of these, along with a regular punch and chisel set. The ones I have (although USA made) are super soft.

I don't need a scroll saw but for $20, I would have bought it in a heart beat.

Honestly, I think that's worthy of a "You ****"
