A few months ago I got a text from my son who works in the Collision Dept. at a new car dealership. He sent a photo of a Mid-Rise Scissor Lift and asked me to bring my trailer and take it home for him. His boss (body shop manager) is on a cleanup / reorganization blitz and told him to get rid of it as it had been sitting unused in the corner of the shop for years. Son asks if he can take it home, boss says Yes, just get it out of here. Son is stoked, an operating HD commercial lift for FREE!

To make a long story short (chronicled earlier in this thread) another employee saw us loading it up and ran to the dealership GM who nixed the deal. Son was not happy but his boss told him to be patient for a while. She was right, the GM was fired recently and the deal was on again although she had us pick it up after hours.

Brought it my garage (no room in his) last night so now I have to fix a few things and change the hydraulic fluid. It is a Norco 86002 6k# mid rise lift, an earlier model of the current 86002A. The power unit can hook on the front of the lift and act like a dolly on a trailer to move the lift around.
https://www.norcoindustries.com/products/model/86002-6000-lbs-55-inch-mid-rise-lift.html

As an added bonus we also got a transmission jack (needs resealing) for use under a 2 or 4 post full size lift which I don't have. Sounds like a good excuse to get one so the jack can be put to good use.

Haha I thought that story sounded familiar when I first started reading it. Glad to hear the ***** got the ax, good luck with the refurbishment.

Not a tool per say, but I picked up a couple of the small HF parts cabinets to hold some specialty fasteners, screws, etc.

I picked up some spark plug sockets... My 6.2L Raptor has 16 plugs, and the bottom ones are a pita to change...

Some new goodies: PBSwiss Meca Torque torque screwdriver 1-5Nm, some Stahlwille quick release extensions, cheap combination wrenches 5,5-34mm, Ko-ken 21mm lug nut socket, hopefully this one fits these stupid tight Nissan rims...
Additional a long PB Swiss Phillips screwdriver for the coffee machine.

Father's day order from SnapOn. Missing the red/white/blue ratcheting screwdriver, I guess it went on backorder after I ordered it.

Wife found the short wrench set locally for me. I'm not a Harley guy but the wrenches are nice.

I just ordered that same green pocket screwdriver today with my order. I think it's backordered now though.

Very nice. My HF unit looks similar with the color being the exception. You might have to fiddle with the safety catch; you want it to click in place decisively. Adjust it if it's hushed at all.

If you need pad extensions to lift trucks/S.U.V.'s, Greg Smith Equipment sells them as well stubby/shorty tri-pod stands for stabilizing your vehicle while you work.

I bought myself A couple 1/4” drive CDI torque wrenches for my new side gig: working on motorcycles. Upon inspection I have to say these are really nice. I’m very pleased with my purchase thus far. Hopefully they work as well as they look!

Make sure you check the accuracy of that torque wrench. I ordered two and both came off about 8% right out of the box.

Will do. Thanks.

edit -
Just tested it. Setting is 23 ft pounds. Our calibrated torque wrench read 275 inch pounds on the money. 22.917 foot pounds. Close enough for me.

Nothing expensive, but glad the Chapman set was made in good ole USA! Both I'm sure I'll use a lot.20200702_183744.jpg20200702_183837.jpg20200702_184757.jpg20200702_184704.jpg20200702_183502.jpg

Wera screwdrivers (and most importantly, a bottle opener).

Cheap Neiko offsest screwdrivers (AMZN)

Boxcutter (someone posted his on another thread and I had to have it).

Nice! Is that a special set for the WERA? I have not seen that round box or container before

Congrats! They are a treat for sure! I remember getting my first after years using raised panel craftsmans. I’ve tried many others since then, but the SO’s remain my favorites. Enjoy them!

Not sure if it is a limited run set, but it is called "A Round of Screwdrivers" (Google and you'll find a lot of links).

Comes with bottle opener, sticker pack, coffee cup coasters and the round metal case. The holders for the screwdriver are cardboard so I won't keep the screwdrivers in there (they so pretty they going on the peg board lol). I'll use the case for a spare parts holder or something.

Used the flat head already for an easy Harley job. Quite happy.

Info on that box cutter? That set looks good. Might order for the coasters alone.

The Maker Knife. https://giaco.com/products/maker-knife

Italian.

I like it because I hate the thumb buttons on most box cutters (they always seem to break on me). I like how this has a smooth and simple open and close mechanism so less likely to deal with broken buttons and such.

Mac 1/4 dr precision torque (i think they call it that). Little used set I picked up to replace a stolen matco set I never liked.

The flare wrench crowfoot sockets I ordered showed up quickly but I'm just now getting around to posting pics. They look awesome and I sure could have used them on a job about a year ago but I know they'll save my bacon one of these days. I seem to remember the figure is 210* of rotation.

Got a new wheel balancer for home use.

Its an Atlas WB-HS.

The repeatability of this unit has been amazing; removing, spinning and remounting provides the same results time and again, which is my books is the ultimate measure of greatness for a balancer.

Tiny little 0-.600" micrometer. Import so I didn't expect much, got it more for the novelty, but I wasn't happy with it so I sent it back this morning. Oh well. I do have a Starret 0-1/2" mic but they're not as small. I really wanted to keep it. Was gonna try my luck getting another one but the price went up on Amazon.
