For me, the cart give me proximity of my most-used tools, but the tray lets me have the active tools and as well as parts/bolts/etc at the spot I'm working.



I've got all this (CCV, various hoses, intake boots, filter housing gasket) plus an alternator and power steering reservoir to put in (probably this coming weekend), so anything that speeds the process is good.

What funny is what I was doing here was getting all that out of the way just to see if I could get a part number off the alternator, but was a lot of the same stuff I'll need to remove to start the actual work.

Haha. But that’s good though that’s very useful.

New to me tools.. my pops passed away 6 days ago and among other things I got his tools and my grandfather's tool he had, both of them where airplane mechanics so I inherited a pretty damn good collection of tools starting from the 30' on up, it's bitter sweet getting them, like anybody I would give them all back for one more hug and another long talk. I sure do miss my old man. I started trying to set back up some tools

Nice tools are those wrenches at the end factory like that or have they been cut and rounded? I can’t really tell.

Ok... bought an Astro Pneumatic Tool 9477 7-Piece... two years ago... use it from time to time... but I needed some new jaws... that Astro Pneumatic did NOT appear to have. So I ordered these... they arrived today and FIT and WORK on the Astro 9477 perfectly. Got them on Amazon...

Seems odd it took them so long to try to steal some market from Super Scraper. The handle looks a little large given the size of the scraping blade too.

I have the 56 top and bottom. Love it. My favorite part is that it was paid for with rebates, and I got another $188.00 back in rebates when I bought it. My local Menards only stocks the grey color, someone ordered a green side cab and didn't pick it up. I got it off the clearance rack for around $200.00

I'm not a pro, so I can't compare it to a SnapOn or the truck brands. I love it. The drawers are very smooth. I like the way they open and close with the spring loaded latch. I even like the color. It's not as **** as the US General colors, but I like it and I can live with it. I think it's the best Big Box Store tool chest/cabinet combo out there. I'll add the 36" cabinet next, then the the 36" top.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. I have totally out grown my 26” craftsman box. Hopefully around Christmas they will go on sale. I’m still trying to decide between blue or charcoal gray with green trim.

A few weeks ago, I picked up a set of lug nut sockets from Menards. Nothing fancy but since theres no room for a four way in the tongue box, I bought a HF ratchet to cover that.

I bought two of the lug nut sockets so I decided to just put the other in my truck. Well I needed a ratchet and bought a breaker bar and small 1/2" drive set from Menards.


I think you can also spot the rebar bender or part of it.

Picked up a new torque wrench. I need to torque a bunch of bolts in a range that my current lineup was lacking.

Precision Instruments C2FR50F (3/8" Flex Head Split Beam). 8-50ft/lbs.

I may have to replace my old Craftsman USA torque wrenches with a few others from Precision Instruments, this thing is nice!

I got the same one. The build quality is pretty flimsy for the price.

It does seem to work as intended and the concept behind it is eons better than normal clicker types.

Flimsy? I've never acquainted the word flimsy with any torque wrench from Precision Instruments I've always thought of them as being bulletproof.

I think the way to head attaches to the handle could be better... it is nicer on my snapon version made by pi, but they work fine and quality has been bullet proof.

I need a 13mm 12pt deep socket for a specific project and did not have one. Ordered a Proto from Amazon for $8 because I don't see myself needing a full set. I have never bought any Proto sockets before, but I am impressed. Nice chrome (looks as good as my Snap-On sockets), the size stamp is nice and big. No knurling like a Snap-On or Craftsman, but overall, I'm pleased. I will not hesitate to buy other Proto sockets.

If you don’t need a knife with your spork, you will probably like the CRKT spork.
It’s basically the only spoon/fork I’ve been using it to eat with for the past 4-5 years......yeah I like it that much. My wife thinks I’m a caveman.

I mean the whole thing other than the head is made out of stamped steel.

You really cant beat the quick adjust with these though, its completely awesome.

Have been too lazy to post new tool acquisitions lately. Or maybe I am a little depressed that I have to put a respirator on to go to my detached garage these days...

Amazon warehouse convinced me that I “need” a Sunex 1/4 impact set, another 10 inch pliers wrench, and a Mercedes flower impact lugnut socket.

Some Tsunoda bent nosed pliers and Teng tools to round out the latest order.

A little more bahco goodness arrived today. Unfortunately, this kit didn't come with nice foam inserts. I considered shadowing it into my drawer but decided to make room for the hard case, it will be nice to grab and go. Very happy with the quality.
