My first JIS tools (kind of sad since I was born in Japan). Purchased from Amazon US as it came out cheaper than Amazon JP if you include shipping. I may now have to get Impactas as well after looking at Old Smokey's post.

Just an FYI guys, the vessel screwdrivers are ISO 8764-1 much the same as everyone else (US, European etc)

Sunflag are pretty well one of a very few still making to JIS B 4633 .

The ISO standard works with Philips and JIS which is why everyone has moved over including vessel.

Yea, I’ve read the same.

I compared the fit of the Vessel Megadora, the Vessel 4500 HD line (which is apparently still a “true” JIS, though I can’t remember where I read that at the moment), as well as the SunFlags. I really cannot tell any difference in fastener fit between the Vessel and Sunflag tips.

I’m not saying this to dispute if I think Vessels are in fact JIS, just that they have a very positive fit and are awesome screwdrivers for working on JIS fasteners. Every bit as good as a verified JIS screwdriver. And definitely better than my standard Phillips screwdrivers.

The ISO standard is actually not that dissimilar from the JIS standard. Not exactly the same but close.

Vessel, on their website a couple years ago actually explicitly stated they MFG to ISO standards, but have since removed it; probably for advertising purposes.

Picked up two new CDI 3/8” torque wrenches for a song off my local classifieds today. They’re beautiful! I also rebuilt my late uncle’s old snap-on S67 ratcheting breaker bar adapter, which was seized from old grease. It’s smooth as new, so it’s kinda a new tool!

Picked up a few more of the Ernst 3 section trays for some screwdrivers and for organizing my socket extensions / adapters. Also grabbed a Hazet wire brush.

That's an interested curved SO screwdriver. How do you like it? That looks like something my wife would enjoy using!!

I don't know how to take the wife comment but as far as the tools utility factor, it makes vertical driving much easier. I prefer a straight handled driver for straight on driving.

A few items I've acquired recently. The saw blades were on sale at my local Ace for around 7 bucks. The tape measure was scored for 5 bucks at the same Ace. The Bondhus Allen key set was an Amazon purchase.

IMG_0620.jpg Got some stuff over the last week or so. 17” Mac pry bar, 21MM long pattern SK wrench, 21MM Wright Wrench, Wright 3/8 drive 14 piece 6 point socket set, Mayhew pick set. All made in the US. I got the Wright 21MM wrench to compare finish to the SK. Both have very nice finishes.

New drill bits... Norseman magnum, made in USA

thumbnail_20201008_172123.jpg

I am sure that set is very nice; but, I prefer the famous, old, USA brands like Cleveland, Precision, United, Latrobe, Morse, ect. that can still be found NOS for 25 cents on the dollar.

Where did you get the little red bins for inside the tray? BTW, nice idea on the tray, I just ordered one for my box. Too bad Amazon does not offer a commission for you.

The little red bins were part of a multi-pack from Schaller Corp. I use them for a bunch of stuff in the tool box and around the house. They have a great drawer builder app for spec'ing particular bins or you can buy one of there multi packs if your not sure what you need.

Mix of FB marketplace, Menards, and Amazon purchases. The two Stanley 151 planes are like new made in England. The Starrett 18C was purchased out of frustration from a cheap auto punch. I really like the functionality of the I-socket, makes cutting wood on the miter saw much more pleasant. And noted a big difference in performance running my drill press with a 2" forstner bit roughly 90 feet from my house with 12ga vs my old 16ga ext cord. Excited to use the Wixey gauge, don't know if I'll ever put the Bessey clamps to good use!

I found a Snap-On TQFR100B (3/8" drive, 20-100ft/lbs) split beam torque wrench on eBay for a great price that has seen very little use. Very pleased with this one.

If there was any doubt precision instruments made these, check it out next to the brand new PI wrench, they even use the exact same case.

SK stubby 3/8 arrived today. I love this thing already. I find I’m often choking up on a regular 3/8 handle while working on motorcycles. This feels better in the hand. It’s also very heavy for its size. Feels great! Might have to get the DT head upgrade for a 100 tooth swap, just because.

Dang, that thing should be called a stubby fatty 3/8.

Ratchets that fit the palm are a treat, so much faster and can get in where others cant.

This little guy has been awesome.

I took advantage of a Zoro coupon and grabbed this Proto J5250HTCF. It's a nice tool for the money.
