Just looked up the Honda's with the Versamow...all I can say is OUCH! at the price tag. My mower is not even 2 years old so there's no way my wife is gonna even consider letting me buy a different one. I may have to get creative...though I don't mind blowing and bagging by hand. Kinda relaxing (I really like cleaning). I'll keep an eye out for a good deal on a used one.

You could use your current mower, and just do what Honda suggests to grind up leaves. Raise the front two wheels up as high as the go, but leave the back in their current position. Then just make a bunch of passes back and forth to grind up the leaves. Then either use the bagger to bag them up, or just rake and bag.

Are the numbers embossed in the handle or laser etched?

I have the same wrench from 2003 and the numbers are laser etched. They're very hard to read now that I'm getting a little older and my near vision is starting to go off.

That's exactly what I'm thinking.

S-O says they are roll marked which would be embossed but they really aren't the easiest to see. My arms could be slightly longer which would help.

Sounds like a dud. Hopefully the replacement one works out for you, because it seems like a pretty darn good bang for the buck compared to a lot of other options out there, especially the brand name ones.

Will probably be a few weeks before I really get a chance to test mine but I have some drain lines I need to scope so we'll see how it holds up!

This just goes from bad to worse. Replacement showed up, USB charging port is misaligned so I can't attach the charging cord to the device. So now I have TWO of them to return.
On the upside this one actually works...well, it will until the battery runs out of juice.

Elongated the slot in the case just a smidge with my Dremel. Charging cord now fits & I have a red light to indicate charging.
Confused myself for a moment when I plugged it in & didn't see a charging light. Then I noticed that silly ******** here had one USB cord plugged into the boroscope & a different one plugged into the computer.. LOL!!

At the almost very other end, I picked up two sets of 3/8dr impact deeps, one metric and one SAE, for all of $25 Canadian, that's $18.75 I'm not sure about the impact part they are thin wall fully broached ! Made In Taiwan.

Not a bad idea. Didn't think about using the wheels at different heights but that would probably work better for me. Thanks for the tip! I'll give 'er a go next fall.

Rohm Chuck. Feels so much better than the OEM. I highly recommend them. Nicer than this drill deserves, but I just hate the feeling of cheap plastic chucks.

Yes, the chucks are replaceable. This one is a DCD771. I also did one a few years ago on a DeWalt 18v DCD760. It makes a huge difference to the feeling and usability.

the chuck on my dcd996 hammer drill seems nice to me. i wonder how it compares to a rohm chuck like yours. mine is all metal i think.

do you mind explaining a little about how you selected that specific chuck (part no) for your dcd771? did you measure something and then look at the rohm catalog?

This particular drill won't get a ton of hard use, so I went with a 1/32"-3/8" version of their RV series. This is a RV10 and I also have a RV13. For DeWalt, you need a chuck with a 1/2"-20 through thread. There is a t20 retaining bolt inside the chuck that is reversed threaded.

I am pretty sure the chuck on your DCD996 is a Rohm. That is a big advantage to the hammer drills from DeWalt.

My 25 ton press got some additions for my SWAG Offroad finger brake - some gooseneck dies and some hemming dies. I added some dimple dies and knockout punch set for sheet metal fabrication. My mill got some Starrett machinists jacks, and my woodworking area got some new tapered countersinks. I picked up one of these JustRite plunger cans for dispensing Acetone. So far, I really like it - I might end up changing the ShureShot sprayer that I use for Acetone to another chemical.

The rest of the stuff is new, and will be used over the next couple of weeks in a couple of projects I have forthcoming.

I'm just a shade tree mechanic that prefers to work on my own vehicles but I like quality tools!

Input Shaft Seal installer for a Freightliner TRW steering box. I think it works on some other models too maybe. This one is made by OEM it was $50 from Freedom Racing. Need this to do the input shaft seal on my dads truck. So if I have to do it again I will have it. All the mechanics told me don’t use a socket because if you get it down too far that’s it.

Snap-On stubby 4in shank #2 screwdriver.

I grabbed a cheap stubby screwdriver from ebay (didn't want to pay Snap-On online shipping) and a #2 Williams from Amazon, pulled both shanks and combined the parts to make a hybrid. I forgot to snap a photo, but the Williams #2 does in fact have a Snap-On branded shank in it (marked with the S logo and #2 under the handle).

Compared to the normal stubby.

That thing is monstrous for being only a 14x30. I can't imagine needing so much power with such a small capacity. Looks every bit as overbuilt as I love. Don't know much about these lathes - how do they compare to Monarchs and some of the other higher end/overbuilt lathes of old?

All I know is everything I’ve read about the Pacemakers has been overwhelmingly positive. It swings more than 14.. more like 16.5 or so from what I’ve read. There are videos of guys doing 1/4” depth of cut with these lathes. It’s a brute.
