January additions: A few Ko-Ken "High Performance Tools of Convincing Quality"
1/4 drive six point shallow set 4-14 mm, 3/8 drive shallow six point set 8-19 plus 21, 22, & 24 mm. 1/4 drive flexible spin handle, a 1/4 drive deep 10 mm six point nut grip socket, and a 1/2 drive shallow 21 mm six point socket to go with my spinning cross wrench.
Also shown, are a few Steals & Deals from SK consisting of: the green stubby wrench rack which SK called a socket rack and has now changed it to a screwdriver rack. a 3/8 drive nut massager for an air hammer, The 33 inch long 1/2F x 3/8 drive locking impact extension, and the Trusty Cook made 13 ounce dead blow hammer which to my surprise arrived green instead of the pictured red and is smaller than I envisioned.
The SK items were shipped individually in their own boxes spread out over a week. The extension came alone without padding in a tube. I was extremely lucky to get it, as on one end they didn't place a cap and only used a couple pieces of tape to secure the end which was 75% torn by delivery :wtf:

Sometimes you just get lucky...

Found these at an auction -- bought all of them. 3 of them are New Britain NB45's and a single penncraft 4000. All of them NOS.

Just got these Gearwrench ratchet drivers, with a size run of Bondhus hex bits, and JIS crosstip bits. The backdrag on these guys is almost non existent! Cant wait to put them to the test.

What are these extensions called? It’s 1/4 square male, 1/4 hex female. Looking for a few more of these shorter ones.. I found some snapon ones, but looking for a more cost effective option. Thanks!!

I got this Craftsman Taiwan 3/8" extension/accessory set.

CMMT42335_1.jpg

$9.99 at Ace this week if you're in their secret club.

The packaging doesn't actually describe the contents, so I thought that little shorty in the foreground was a 1/4"F to 3/8"M adapter, but actually it's a 3/8" 1.5" extension. I've never had a stubby extension like that, so it might come in useful. The other pieces are a 6" extension (can never have too many of those), U-joint, and size adapters from 3/8"F to 1/4"M and 1/2"M respectively. The size adapters will probably never get used; I barely use the ones I already have. But the other stuff is nice to have extras, and the Cman Taiwan stuff seems a lot better than the China pieces.

Got these free from Tractor Supply anytime anything that is in the clearance bin that doesn’t have a price you just ask and they tell you and the manager said just take them. The Orange handle cutters are Crescent I just figured out how to close them lol. Free is free so I don’t care the quality or anything. Seems ok though.

I’ve recently started TIG welding and really am enjoying it a lot. I decided it was time to make a proper welding table, which would also be a great opportunity to get more practice.

So this is a combination of new tools, and new materials to make new tools.

Replaced my 3 year old ultra cheap helmet with a Miller digital infinity after being repeatedly flashed by my old lid.

Some vise grip locking c clamps, 11” with swivel feet

Couple wire cup brushes

And what I’m most excited for, a Milwaukee variable speed corded band saw. I’ll make or buy a stand for it soon.

The rest is just a huge pile of square and rectangular steel to weld into a base, with a 1/2” steel plate bolted to the top!

Best move to have 2 or more grinders. I hate switching from a cutoff wheel to flap disc or wire wheel. Wastes too much time and sometimes you break cutoff disc's if you grab them to loosen and not use the tool to do it.

That sounds like the most ridiculous thing ever having multiple tools that do the same thing, right up until the time you use it. If I'm lagging anchors or something like that I will have an M12 with a drill bit and one with a socket on it so I'm not switching off and on with bits. I can see especially a grinder saving a bunch of time.

Professional metal fabricators have more than two grinders at a station. I’m not one, but I’m sure some have more than 4, easily.

Same goes for cordless ratchets and impacts. All about time savings. At what point does the cost outweigh? It was Jack Olsen that gave me the idea for the grinders with his garage. Have a bunch of HF grinders that I buy. When they blow, I just check them and move on.

I'm a big fan of having multiple copies of a tool where switching around a lot is the alternative.

For example, working under the hood of my old BMW has me moving between 6mm, 8mm and 10mm a lot - I'm almost always running two rotos when doing that.

I ended up getting the flip socket set for 1/4” to help that.

I just got a similar set off the classifieds. (I don't have the ratcheting T-handle). It's nice!

Need to make brake lines for a couple vehicles, bought a flaring kit. Mixed-to-bad reviews on most manual kits but the hydraulic ones are $250+. Giving it a shot

Got some a little haul of some fun tools and stuff from Japan, Switzerland, and Israel. Nothing serious this time.

Does that tether keep it from falling? Where does the battery go?

It’s corded not battery powered. I have no use for a cordless bandsaw. Not sure what tether you’re seeing - maybe the upper handle?

So I needed a press jig for Toyota tundra hubs. I originally used hbeams but it eventually resulted in this,
IMG_20210127_085602198.jpg
So I made these, and burnt out one of my hf grinders in the process, and got to pick out a new one

The spool gun for the Ironman 230 welder I recently bought. Fedex delivered it today, a Saturday. I ran up and grabbed it off the porch before the wife saw it, almost feel like a porch pirate, except it was mine.

we got a new grinder at work!
https://imgur.com/wdH9C5e

Pretty amazing how smooth the Baldors run. When I first got mine, I couldn't wait to run it. I took the accessories out of the box and started it in the box with it still on the shipping plywood.

Thanks again to whoever here posted up the deal on those back a couple years ago. IIRC it was like $250 delivered for the 8", 3/4 hp model. In retrospect, I should have bought two!

Picked this up off CL, really don't need it but for 20$ and it was never used, shop vac hooks up for quick dust collection.

I'm guessing the 2nd cap came off and somewhere along the way some packing tape got put on cause I got the same extension (it's a beast, by the way) and it had caps on both ends.

Looks like a nice little haul overall - picked up quite a few bits and pieces from the SK Steals & Deals myself...should get around to posting the pics one of these days!
