My purchases since my last post.

Stahlwille 1/4" drive locking t handle. Didn't need it but it was like $20 on amazon. Freebie with the cc points I have.

SO swivel etorx. Came in really handy several times already. I prefer this to ball torx, as you can maintain full engagement with the fastener.

Have some upcoming maintenance work on my 911 that requires you to see by touch. Picked up off the German Tool Truck in hopes I don't drop anything into the abyss.

Some SO pliers my dealer had on promo.

I could not resist the new SO usa made locking pliers. I'm sure by now everyone knows Malco is producing them exclusively for SO in Nebrasks by now. I don't want to wait a year, and I figured I'll help my dealer pay for his new truck. lol

I also picked up the new SO 1000 lumen flood light. This has way more features the stock photo does justice. The back side of this has a little screen with battery percentage, you can adjust the color temperature between something like 3000k-5500k, and it uses a potentiometer/rotary style switch for controls.

Some USA made Mac hose gripping pliers. Not NOS, but still in pretty good shape. I picked up this set from an ebay seller called 5amfishing. He included a hand written note about how these funds are being used to help him clean up a river by Yosemite. Figured I would share for those who want to support someone who appears to be a solid dude.

Hi sweet victory,

Are those "nut grip" flex sockets? Are they made by Ko-ken?

What is the model # for the set?

Thanks,

Dave

I hunted down that same set of three on eBay last year. Worth it!

Got my LP-90 from SK today. It came out of the bag a bit gummy, but with a bit of rubbing it looks great!

Definitely has a purposefully-beefy feel. The handle seems like it is going to be awesome. There are small things I'd change about the handle on the Snap On and Icon, and my first thought on the handle for the SK was "Nice!" Its shape promotes a slightly different placement for my index finger vs. the Icon, and similar to the SO but "supported" by the final rounded area. Will be interesting to see if that first impression translates into use.

These pix don't communicate well how much narrower the head is. I haven't had a lot of issues with clearance for ratchet heads, but looking forward to seeing if it makes any difference in use in general. It's pretty flat too - even the switch is shallower than either of the other two.

The mechanism is pretty "clicky" out of the box, especially compared to both of the others, but both have a fair amount of use, too. I may open it up and put a couple drops in there, but either way I'm going to make it the 1st up for a while to break it in and see how I like it. As opposed to the X-frame set that I got a couple weeks ago, I have all kinds of stuff to do with this guy in the immediate future...

Found one of these brand new for $200, now I can check my stable of torque wrenches at will instead of bothering Snappy...

New arrivals:
Capri tools 1/4” flex head ratchet
CAT (Snap-On) Tools 1/4” spinner!

I’d love to learn what other “affordable” tools Snap-On makes for CAT! Might be a new favorite tool source.

Couldn't resist this set of Wilde USA pry bars when I saw it came with the rack. Also forgot to post this scan tool, almost thought it didn't count but hey. It's going to pay for itself real quick.

^ Got a part number for the short metric set?

How do they compare in length to other williams, or other brands?
MWS-MS-10

I buy all my Williams from ToolsDelivered

Long pattern at the top.
20210324_224916.jpeg

The set says 8-17, but mine came with a 19 inside the pouch with the set. I bought a loose 19 and ended up with an extra one. I'll have to refund it.

Sort of a tool, hydraulic top link and spool valve for J.Deere.

I have the hydraulic top link on my Kubota B7800. I certainly consider it a very useful tool. It is invaluable in hooking up and adjusting 3 point attachments. No more getting off the tractor and adjusting a turnbuckle. :) Together with a Quick Hitch, it's fast.

Nice prybar set! Did you buy from a retailer or did you find it from someone locally? If a retailer, do you have a link?

Zoro is where I typically get my williams tools. I was able to score some deep impacts, extensions and universals the other week with 20% plus my card had 10% cash back with zoro.

I usually shop around to see who has the best deal factoring in shipping and what not at the time. I picked up the blackhawk socket set for $17 usually sells for around $100 and the 20" 1/2" drive williams extension for $11 from amazon.

Sold my old 33 gallon horizontal Craftsman compressor since I didn't have a good spot for it after getting a new bigger (72") toolbox. Didn't really see myself using the compressor much at all for the time being.

Boy was I wrong. I've been without the old compressor for a little over a week I think, and I could have used a compressor several times over. Already had my eye on this one but didn't want to wait on shipping. So planned last night to hit Menards on the way home from work today and grab one of their "ultra quiet" 20 gallon units. By chance this morning looked at the Menards website and saw that a location about 40 minutes from me had one of the CA Air Tools 10020C's in stock. Called and had them hold it for me.

IT IS SO FREAKING QUIET. Worth every cent.....$350 on sale minus 11% rebate (which is going towards new cabinets for my garage).

I'd pick one up at that price. I need a small one for the garage.

SK really should have retained the green direction switch on those ratchets. The replacement direction switch looks like ****.

I agree - I liked the look of the green switch. I kinda wondered if it was slippery or something, or if they just decided to book the extra profit from not painting/powder-coating/whatever.

I haven't used mine yet (I really should be in the garage right now...), but I doubt it will be a source of dissatisfaction.

Goofing around with it the other day, it seemed much more 'clicky' than my Icon or Snap-on ratchets, but going to put a few drops of SuperLube in there today and give it a chance to break in a bit before passing judgement.

Superlube will help, all of the ones I have shipped completely dry, a couple drops is definitely warranted

Just picked this 3/4” SK 4725 set up off cl, 50$ with swivel, two sockets were replaced with proto usa almost look identical to sk sockets, ratchet is a fine tooth, told me the set was too big, didn’t fit anything they had. I felt like i was doing him a favor taking it off his hands.
