Good looking set of boxes. Any comments how you like the cart? I keep thinking about picking one up, but not sure I'd like a a lift-top. Flat surfaces seem to always collect things in my shop, so I worry about being tempted to use it as a work surface only to realize I need a tool that's inside...

I have one, and really love it. I "solved" the flat-surface problem by adding the shelf. The whole setup has worked really well for me. It is 100% car-related tools and the flip top makes access really easy/fast.

Picked up a Harbor Freight FORTRESS 2gal air compressor. OMG, this thing is like a whisper! How does a compressor run virtually silent?

Just got it to have some air in the garage. No real need, just wanted it. Breaking it in right now.

Neighbor was selling two skilsaws out of his trailer. I don’t think they used them after the purchase of the battery saws





I paid $50 bucks each saw. Figure I’ll toss two new blades on them and shelf them for the next project

Thanks for the replies - that was the other question in my mind...since I have a a 54 inch box already, the using the cart for "car only" tools would make sense in my application as well.

Thanks again - always interesting to see how other people organize themselves. I'm a joe-homeowner-shadetree wrencher, so not much time in shops with other guys to see how they do things.

Just recently picked up this Dewalt cordless rotary polisher, brushless and vs. so nice not to have a cord, nicely balanced with plenty of power plus i have plenty of batteries. Now i need to get a cordless ro to replace my corded porter cable.

I have the Da version of that and really like it, I don’t detail everyday but I have a few people who bring me their suvs. It works good under the microfiber pads and foam. I don’t think the 60v battery is as nice for all the weight so I use my 20v. But it’s a good tools and it gets me great results

I might pick that one up also, but I wanted a straight rotary for a while & going cordless was great. I agree the 60 V a little heavy, the 5 amp 20 is perfect. By the way, nice scenery in the background!

Recieved some unexpected back pay and after 4 months of searching for a decent truck brand box for under $3k I caved and bought this from Napa $1500 cad Carlyle 54"x24" box in "monster green".

The orange box is an old 41"x18" international box I've owned for near 10 years.

I use a Milton Blo gun like that, the only problem is the trigger lever can pinch your fingers if you are not careful. The rubber tip works great for pressurizing brake calipers to pop the pucks out.

It was a joke, but I did hit the bone in my thumb with that knife at a job I had. The emt was afraid I was going to bleed out. Trash can a little one had a lot of blood until he got it stopped.

I did the same thing, and for a small poke it bleed. Good thing that bone was there to stop it
