Yup... I found some with magnets on the **** end... they are in my cart... I have both the 4140 and the Mueller already... use them at least once a week... well... today even. I also have a professional aircraft company's version of the 4140... WAY thinner, deadly even. It has a bake-a-light type handle.

Gotta have those mini's tho...
Thanks for posting those pictures of it!

Received the Powermatic 54A base for my jointer today and also received the Vortex Cone upgrade for my Jet DC1100. Installed the Vortex Cone and got the jointer on the mobile base. Now back to re-assembly.

My datacomm bag has a Proto 1/4" set in it and my truck toolbox has a Proto 1/2" set in it. I needed something middle of the road. They won't get used a lot and I thought I would give Tekton a try.

They seem fairly nice and will work great as a beater set.

Manual impact driver from Tekton also. From Rural King. It was I believe $19.99.

These two are for dad. He keeps torx around because the dash of his Freightliner is all torx pretty much. The mini screwdrivers are for him too but I might sneak them into my box 😉. 6AF5D6C1-6BE1-46B0-BB4F-FF771F439D64.jpegGot this for me. I need a good light to carry in my pocket to pull out to look at stuff at work. Was trying to find one with a belt holder but haven’t found any.
Let me know how you like that torque wrench, getting ready to buy one of those.

Finished off switching over to swivel head ratchets. Figured I’d try Wera’s metric 1/2 drive. I really just needed the ratchet and extensions but the price of the whole set was just a couple bucks more when priced out. There are some pretty cool features on the ratchet and it seems really well built. The sockets are pretty bulky but I don’t know how much I’ll ever use them so no biggie.

Oil filter pliers. Before working professionally I never needed oil filter tools. Now even though I don’t remove many oil filters I like having these as they save time from having to dig out my claw style oil filter tool. I was using my dads vintage ones from the 1970s but my coworkers tend to borrow without asking and I keep having to keep my eye on those so they came back home Friday and these will be going instead. A517522F-49D3-4DD5-85BA-CD62D4ACE8F0.jpeg
Also got these there too. The 3 inch extension was cool don’t think I’ve got one that size I have a couple two inch ones. The 10mm well you gotta have that size plus mine the detents wore out so it slides off. Got the 14mm to replace my SK I cracked and still haven’t gotten a response back and I don’t talk on the phone so I didn’t call them or anything. The 14mm deep because I hardly have any 14mm deep 6 points. Unfortunately I grabbed a China made one without paying attention it’s old stock from 2018 but oh well. And the 7mm my darn coworkers destroyed with an impact removing Ford underskirts so I got another one and they won’t be using it on impacts this time.

I decided to delay a little on asking for a warranty from Craftsman because I don’t want them to suspect anything is up. I just got more warranty stuff in today from both Stanley and Craftsman so I will get it posted tomorrow. I know I need to stop letting my stuff be used but if they would hire someone with tools then that would be great. Ok rant over and hope you enjoy the tools 🙂.

Whats up with your coworkers borrowing tools? Tell them bums to buy their own.

Yeah I want to tell them that. I guess they are so desperate to find techs that they hire people fresh out of school with no tools. Drives me insane. At least the other guy finally got tools. They say they don’t have any money.

My buddy swears they are hiring people without tools because they never use one before.

It sounds like a Kia dealership I worked at as a salesman. They hired clueless kids out of HS as repair techs, what a joke. What made matters worse, was their manager, he previously owned a pizza parlor and had no automotive experience at all. LOL As the saying goes you get what you pay for. Needless to say the customers were pissed after coming back multiple times hoping they'd get their repairs done correctly. I left there for greener pastures, because the customers would come screaming at the salesman who sold them the car when they discovered the repair techs were useless.

Warranty replacement tools. Craftsman 15mm universal joint was completely frozen up. The 11/16 moves freely. So they sent me the universal joints and a deep 15mm socket since they don’t offer the universal joint sockets individually.

The second picture is a bent Stanley wrench I finally talked myself into getting because they wanted me to pay shipping to send it back I told them that is not happening. They are supposed to be sending a screwdriver as well so we will see if they do.

I used to hear this all the time from techs...these are the same guys who used to buy a few energy drinks a day, eat fast food constant and show up with new cars, latest phones, etc.... It usually is a matter of how folks manage their money...

No, step dad got a few stitches in his finger. I also got a suture removal kit from the doctor to take them out.

More tools !!!
I probably have enough surgical "tools"... to, well not probably... I know I have enough to neuter a cat/dog/misc boyfriend for a concerned father...

Back in college... I performed microscopic necropsies on rabbit fetuses. Also did normal necropsies on rats... hundreds of rats. It's where I fell in love with "tools".

We also had a functioning Electron Microscope next to my desk in the lab.

Ahhhh the good old days when you can look at the particle you found in your food... to identify it.

Man you warranty a lot of tools. Might be worth reconsidering brand choice if they're failing that often. I see tons of cheaper wrenches like that, although most bent ones like that leave the factory bent.

May I suggest a pair of Wright Grip wrenches?

Yep I do haha. I love my Craftsman stuff. Some of the things I did get second hand but majority is mine and I’ve got more but I’m going to hold off a little while on the warranty so they don’t think I’m trying to take advantage.

The wrench was one of those tools. I like my Craftsman wrenches and Snap-on ones I have too. The Wright ones are nice too I have seen a couple of those too.

This is a tool I guess, my first M8 Softail frame swap, they made the bike lighter overall but it wasn't in the engine!
Maybe I'm not as young as I used to be.

You really buried the lead not boasting about the handles on the screwdrivers and just talking about their length instead.

That light is definitely nice. At my shop if you get caught using a power tool inside the car you get your walking papers after the first warning lol. So that would be a no go here. They had issues with people breaking things on interiors so no power or air tools allowed on the interior.
