Lisle 21520 brake/clutch depresser.

Definitely not as precisely adjustable as the throttle version. I feel like they could've combined them into one tool.

Interesting, I had no idea Lisle made that. Funny cause I have the Lisle hood prop tool which is basically the same thing minus that plate but has 2 extending poles & that's what I've been using for a brake pedal depressing tool.

Yeah mine has just 1 extendable part. They also sell that hood prop without the yellow boot. Do you use it with or without?

A few new things yesterday. Been needing a pliers rack for awhile couldn’t decide if I wanted this or a magnetic one so I figured I’d give this one a try if I don’t like it I’ll take it home. Then the piece for the die grinder i finally found. Employee said no matter the brand it should include one. Obviously he didn’t know lol. And got another little knife they are very handy.

I was looking at these. What are the dimensions? Overall length, and diameter of the face specifically.

Can't decide between the 8oz and the 4oz.

Sorry, I don't have the exact measurements handy. It looks larger in the picture, here it is compared to my Channellock 8 oz. that is replacing. I do really like the feel of the Proto Anti-vibe however. Personally I don't think I would want one smaller but I have my stubby handled one if I need one smaller.

And with the others in the hammer/pry bar drawer. The red Snap-on just above it in the picture is a 16 oz.

Those ones from HF are pretty good. No crazy runout like some others I've came across. Been using them for over 20 yrs and they're still made in Taiwan afaik. I tried an expensive 3M one & I actually like these HF ones better.

I toss the nut, shorten the threads a bit & loctite the shaft in place. Gives it that little bit of shorter height that I like.

Last one I bought was 2-3 yrs ago. I noticed that the ones sold individually are still made in Taiwan but the ones sold in the kit with various pads are made in China. Not that it probably matters any.

Start off with some new hammers. Already have the 40oz ballpeen so added the 48oz deadblow, 32oz and 24oz ball peens.
20211210_181733.jpg

Gear Wrench 48" extendable and indexable prybar. This thing is hefty. Co-worker has one and I immediately saw the use for it. Stole it off Amazon at the lowest price in years.
20211210_181707.jpg

Indexable snappy dual 80 3/8 ratchet. I can see the use for this ratchet from time to time so why not.
20211210_181900.jpg

High leverage pliers. Pretty impressive the amount of grip they create.
20211210_181752.jpg

Universal Torx from snappy as well. Another just in case tool now that I'm venturing into the VAG world.
20211210_181841.jpg

1/2" Dual 80 used on the truck for $100, couldnt pass that up as an upgrade to my current HF 1/2" ratchet.
20211210_182019.jpg

Mini files. We'll see how long they last.
20211210_181805.jpg

Lastly, everyone needs a little MAP gas.

Nice, those high leverage pliers have been on my wish list for a while, need to get them…
My driver had a promo going spend $*** and get a key that might open a toolbox on the truck. When all the keys are gone if yours fits you get a Solus Legend and the box. I was $50 away from getting another key so I said screw it and got them!

That old Channellock is a beauty. I'd gladly give it a loving new home!

Yeah, she's had a hard life. One of my first purchases when I started my career. I added the heat shrink about 20 years ago and it's still a great little hammer. I'm just trying to give it a break and thought I'd try something different. I had ordered the Snap-on 8 oz. to match my other ball peen hammers but it's been on backorder for several months so I cancelled it and decided to try the Proto based on Fedwrench's recommendation.

So far I like it.

I am seeing alot of posts about headlamps and completely forgot to post the one I picked up the other day when I posted all my other tools I bought myself.

Time will tell how good it is, but its bright as hell and will completely light up a dark room. I think I paid around $15 on Amazon.

Definitely looks more sturdy than the other version. Maybe the rod of the other version could be thicker...I might try the Thexton version...

Yesterday I made a pilgrimage to tool heaven, Harry J. Epstein.

Had to replace my old and trusty Diamond diagonal cutters after the wife tried to cut a screw. She really chipped the cutting edge.

While I was there picked up a 3/8 Wera Zyclop ratchet, a Proto screwdriver, couple bit drivers, a few hammers for Christmas gifts, a Wright spinner handle, and a Wright 3430 ratchet.79A5D99E-8B2E-4128-B586-33F6C9475758.jpeg

I have the exact same Lisle expander set. I hate doing exhaust work but this set does work quite well in most applications I've used it on.

Snap-on finally showed up after a month. His truck was down and had to get a new transmission. I finally got the picks I ordered a month ago. And then got some quality vise grips finally and of course gotta have socks. He said he can’t keep any in stock cause everyone wants them lol. Was going to get another pocket screwdriver but I’ll wait till next week to bug him on that. He is supposed to get my screwdriver handle in that is warranty. :bounce:. And the picks are pearl blue the lights in the shop make them look different.

Needed a grinder (which I’ve never had owned one before) real quick like and so I purchased this Skil 9295 model up from our local True Value Hardware. Not bad for $30.00.

Anyone here in GJ have a Skil 9295 model grinder? If so you opinions, reviews, comments. etc.?

The alternative one that they also had was a Dewalt model for $113.00!

Also purchased a Diablo diamond tipped wheel grinder for it (designed for masonry) since the the blade that came with the Skil grinder was designed for metal.

For the price, I’m satisfied with it…didn’t really need the top of the line one.

You're gonna love those locking pliers. Top notch. I cannot wait until they release needle nose style.

I went up to Harbor Freight and bought one of their cheapie angle grinders because ..... I knew I was going to just beat the livin' **** out of it and it didn't make sense to shell out a lot of money for something I knew beforehand was going to be abused in the worst way.

Great to hear. Everyone gave me heck for getting them cause of the rap that Snap-on locking pliers/ vise grips used to have when they were the old style. Yeah hopefully they will release needle nose ones. I’m tired of having the cheap ones strip and grind teeth every time you use them. I’m going to have him order me some more sizes. I believe they are made by Malco now but I’m not sure.

What are the pliers on top with the red handles & what are they used for? I've never seen pliers like that before & I'd like to know if I need them.
They are called battery pliers, from Wilde Tools. They are located a short distance from me in Hiawatha Kansas.
