Received this nifty 3 piece Hex Driver Ball Metric set from MIP arrived in this morning’s mail.

Did not order directly from MIP....I paid $10.00 bucks less from another vendor and not what MIP's current asking price is.

I really like MIP tool products....I have a few....driver sets, etc. though I am not saying they are the best but definitely one of the very best made tools to use.

A bit higher priced but very well worth it IMHO.

Also this was just dropped off by a FedEx courier!

Two different BONDHUS brand sets of Hex Drivers purchased from ThorLabs.

One set being SAE (yellow handles) and the other being Metric (red handles).

Snappy Tuesday. My dealer got the new locking pliers in so I grabbed one of each size. Very hefty and feel well made. Was cruising the drawers and mentioned I needed to upgrade my combo wrenches as my current Craftsman Mechanics Grip Made in China set is flaking. Got these flank drive plus open box for $150 under list and they're replacing the missing 10mm for free for me. Now I need to get some regular flank drives as well...in long and short!20220118_134627.jpg

Have you noticed them leaving marks on fasteners too much? Thats my only concern with them and why I want some regular FD wrenches as well. Reserve these for hard to break free fasteners and use FD for the rest to preserve the fastener. That being said, thats semi redundant and expensive, but this is GJ afterall. I can see myself adding the larger size of these as well. They're already longer than my Cman set and obviously much higher quality.

Yeah they leave marks. I personally wouldn't be concerned unless it was like a chromed fastener or something.

Check out williams USA wrenches too. Open end is identical to snapon minus the teeth, and the wrench beam is a little thicker.

Picked up this well used 3/8 locking flex head Friday, the lock mechanism was broken so they replaced it, not bad for $85, just need to replace that grip with a hard handle if I can and redo my paint on the logo

Snap-on Tuesday for me too. Got a long flex head 1/4 drive ratchet. I love Snap-on ratchets in my opinion they are the best. Also got a deep well extractor set. I asked for it about 3 months ago and he just got it in. Still waiting on my pearl blue 3/8 extra long ratchet. Also got 3 out of the 6 pairs of my socks that I had him order too. Was disappointed my Pearl Blue ratchet hasn’t come yet as I could really use it right now. He doesn’t even have an extra long one on the truck. Sorry about the lighting in the picture I didn’t realize that haha.

I bought a snap on set for my rc stuff after camping out screws and tearing up tips on various drivers, no issues since.

Also don't know how it quoted the low profile set I didn't even click on that lol

What is that extractor set Blake? Haven't seen that one before, is it the twist sockets? Also if your just cleaning corrosion off of the terminals try hot water next time learned that from an old guy at a previous shop it works very well.

Yes it’s just deep twist style extractors. He had a Blue Point set too but you can’t use a wrench or socket on the end of those you just drive them with a ratchet or whatever and I like this design better. We had a guy who left a couple months ago who had these and everyone loved them so I bought a set too. Probably rebranded but oh well.

No new tool arrivals so far for me this week... But I've rounded up my latest old tool departures that will go to one of the local thrifts. Nothing fancy, or sought after, but possibly useful to someone.

I don't care about rebrand really, my guy treats me good and I never have to worry about something not being covered so it is what it is. I have the bluepoint deeps and I think that was the only ones available when I bought mine, it's been about 10 years though definitely saved my *** a few times.

I agree on that. Just had 3 tools from the pawn shop warrantied for nit picky reasons lol. Like chrome peeling and a loose hex bit and one was a bent pick so it was valid haha. Yeah I just had shallow extractors till now the good thing about that was everyone hates them and I never get asked to borrow them  . I can see now everyone will be asking for these I’m going to start charging certain people. One guy was giving me **** about it saying oh anytime I have a rounded bolt I just use vise grips I’m like yeah but you can’t fit those in all places and sometimes it’s in there so tight it’s impossible to turn with vise grips.

I think you’ll love those locking pliers. I know I do. Much better then the old style ones Snap-on had. Now I wish the supplier Malco would release needle nose ones. I bought both the ones you have pictured there and I love them. Nice wrenches too I want to get a set after I pay my balance down a little bit.

I'm hoping for the whole line of "Vice Grips" from Malco.

I always heard the old LP series were junk. My old dealer actually told me to pass on them when I tried to buy them once haha. These seem to be real quality. My driver said theres a good deal of BOGO deals coming up, hopefully some wrench sets paired with something good.

I looked at and held in my hand those new locking pliers on Friday when I was on his truck. They seem to be very nice quality tools. Talked to my dealer about trading in my old gray colored Snap-on locking pliers on them and will probably do it this Friday.

Took advantage of the Advance Auto Parts Gearwrench/TEQ clearance and picked up a couple things. Didn't really need them, and probably not top quality, but for $23/set for the reversible wrenches and $6 for the precision screwdrivers, I couldn't say no.

Also ordered some more Knipex, which will likely be my last large NTD for a while. Will post them when they get arrive!

Nice! I was able to get around $8 off per pair from my dealer on them as well, helped sweeten the deal.

Both new tools and precursors of things to come. My first foray into the Festool ecosystem; hoping the investment proves worthwhile.
Previously, I posted track connectors and a Festool CT 26. The rest of the package order arrived today. Still hope it proves worthwhile.

Curious to know how rigid the two piece track is, I bought a dewalt flexvolt & it came with a 108" & 58" track. I know festool makes very high quality stuff but was a little concerned with a 2 pc track, I'm sure they have it figured out.

No clever puns for me today.

Picked up this Lexivon set of spline sockets from Mr. Bezos because I need to do the rear pads and rotors on the SportWagen. I broke down and took the car into the local shop (they've been fair) to get the oil changed and to look at the brakes. They charged $170 for the oil change and to go over the car, but it was going to be another $470+ hst to do the brakes. I've been feeling better this week, so I figured I can get out there and do the brakes myself. I'll have about $260 CAD into it by the time I'm done, but I got to buy new tools. 🥸

Rotors come tomorrow but a separate order with some welding rod, brushes and new welding helmet not pictured also arrived today.

It was my birthday today and my SIL made me an adapter so I can use my annular bits in my drill press. I don't use the bits pilot pin, we made one out of a 1/4 inch bolt so once a 1/4 inch pilot hole is drilled into the steel a little the pin keeps the bit from walking.

It also has a spring in it that pushes the plug out once the hole is drilled like the mag drill. Annular Adaptor.jpg
