Decided it was time to upgrade my tired 20+year-old socket set and jumped on the Tekton bandwagon.

-Got the master sets of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" drive in 6-point, plus another master set of 3/8" drive in 12-point (not shown) for those random aftermarket flywheel/head/manifold/hub/pan bolts. All on rails.
-Also picked up a set of their long ratcheting wrenches, as well as two of their long QR ratchets (not shown).

Haven't used them yet, but I'm pleasantly surprised at the feel/quality. I still have full chrome-moly impact sockets for big stuff, but these vanadium sockets are more than decent enough for a hobbyist home-mechanic like me who does the occasional engine or rear differential rebuild. Probably the last set I'll ever own.

Haven’t bought anything in a while, too busy working gobs of overtime. Cashed in some Tekton points before the price increase. 2 sided rubber mallet, 1/2” drive deep 6 point 27mm socket which completes my full Tekton rail of those, and a 36oz dead blow ball peen I’ve wanted for a while. 9F7A7806-75D4-4A1D-87F1-0553625F33EF.jpeg
Gobs of overtime makes for gooood tool buying.

Someone on this thread (I believe) got one of these, and so I decided to get one too. I thought it was a good idea.

I've had a 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" version of those for years. I don't think I've ever actually used them. Every time I try using them, they don't fit or otherwise don't work for whatever the job is at the time. These adapters are one of those things that may save your *** one day, but at the same time also something that seems like a good idea but in reality doesn't really work out. At least that's been my experience.

Same thing with Snap On wobble plus extensions. I owned a set(s) for a minute years ago because they seem like a great idea. Except every time I used them, the socket gets pushed down onto the non-wobble part of the extension. Unfortunate and annoying.

That's something my wife would say, lol.

There is only one time my wife has actually questioned a purchase of mine, otherwise she pretty much can't keep up with all the buy/sell stuff I do! Haha

Well, that was quick! :ROFLMAO: I actually laughed at this pic after your Masterforce? debacle post a few days ago. Use and enjoy. And post another review on this one.

Yeah I was lucky to find one at a rental company that just happens to be a Makita dealer. They also had it for an excellent price.

Depends what your working on. I use those wobble universals all the time. I also use wobble extensions a pretty good amount.

I picked up a Tekton 12 piece metric combo wrench set and a set of Felo wood-handle screwdrivers for my nephew’s 17th birthday.

I cant recall if I’ve had a time where I would need it, but it was not expensive so why the hell not. I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Thats why I have a ex-wife
No, mines a keeper, whatever i get into she does too, years ago i told her i was getting an atv, her answer was one? Ever since then it’s at least two of everything, she even has two bikes. She’s never said no, but there are times she will call me out on my man math, as she calls it.

I recently ordered some wobble+/ wobble fix as Koken calls them. Couple days ago, while waiting for my order i just thought about this...wait a second..what if it just gets pushed down? WHy did I buy these. I want either a wobble, or a fixed extension...
Now I see snapon has a locking wobble which looks quite appetizing...

I use mine all the time for automotive since I don't have actual 1/2 drive swivel sockets. I've worn out and/or broke snapon and matco 1/2 drive swivel adaptors more than once. In fact my matco is getting pretty sloppy but I dont have a matco guy anymore

Trying out a few Ernst socket rails. Thinking about converting over to these, but not sure I want to spend that much...so I figured I would throw my new Williams USA metric set on one.
They stand up way better then the metal rails I have been using. I like the twist lock as well.

I thought I'd really scored big time when I found this fabulous Globemaster 1/4" drive socket set, but then somebody told me that my new free truck was all metric! ;)

I can't believe no one snaped them up years ago. :) You can tell they are Snap-on quality. I can remember buying stuff like that from the dollar bins when I was a kid, for working on my bike. The hell of it was they did the job at the time.

The truck being all metric depends if you have rust out there lol. I just did a frame off on a 1997 F350, definitely not a sane decision with how rusty it was. My friend loves the truck and we could essentially make it brand new for under $10k so it was way cheaper than a new truck.

Sold my old sockets and wrenches and replaced them with Tekton master sets. Also invested in a tool grid system, currently playing with the organization in my kitchen, still need to put all the screws in and move it to the tool box.
Damn dude that looks awesome!,,,

Yeah, I'm real happy with it. I didn't even know this stuff existed a couple of weeks ago. I had Ernst before this and that was nice too. The downside was that small sockets took up too much space and large sockets interfered with neighbors. If you take your rails out this isn't for you, but I work out of my box. I think this is a winner for me.

Very nice! The tool grid stuff is very interesting, but it just seems like so much work to get it set up…

Very nice. I just bought all new Tekton socket sets, and a bunch of other stuff. Latest order of 1/2 impacts will be here tomorrow. I took a bunch of pics today still need to post them.

They also have trays that hold those rails. The rails can be removed very easily, that's what I have for almost all of my socket organizationIMG_20220119_101102264_HDR.jpg

That is amazing looking. I've thought about these alot but I've invested in the Ernst socket trays heavily but would still consider it for wrenches, I'm never happy with my wrench organization
