In the process of building a new shop and it would be CRAZY to move my old tools in a New shop 😁 So.................I am buying all new stuff.

I hate that the more I read this the more it makes sense, given that moving my tools 600ish kms seems like a ridiculous feat. On the other hand, leaving them behind means finding room to store them with my parents, which seems only slightly less ridiculous, by comparison.

Maxcustody- where did you get the "Olsatools" bit holder? And who made the "Socket Straps"?

(I bought three of those Tekton hex-key sets - it's a great set.)
I ordered direct from both companies. Enter KOON from Koon Trucking on YouTube and get 10% off at Olsa.

Have you modified the gauge in anyway? After I wrote that reply, I was thinking whether it was intentional. If the bottom of the groove tends to have a curve, maybe it shouldn't measure 0 on a flat surface?
It came like that, i didn´t do anything. If you turn the "cylinder" the reading varies a bit too....
I think it´s a inexpensive tool for a quick check if the tire is still useable...for more precision you need a depth micrometer :)

They make a thinner tool if using half height sockets 85A003FE-6B10-4198-B2B4-83C7E957882E.jpeg
I have to use a T60 torx socket, with no room for the socket wrench on the back. Plan C is to punch out the torx from the socket and use a wrench directly on the shank. I did stop at HF to grab them on the way home today. Also a set of the Milwaukee picks came, which I’m not impressed with. They seem to be made of cheap pot metal.

I’m not questioning you, but did you read that somewhere. I only ask because the paperwork never mentioned it and this is my first set of torque adapters. And until I read this thread I was unaware they existed.

thanks
Hey SRU,

If at all possible? Place the adaptor at 90 degrees to the Torque Wrench.

That way you do not need to do the "math"...

As your pic shows the formula, the adaptor "adds" torque in used "straight"....

Hope this helps..

Later, Mark

I've always found that 90 degrees is the easiest formula to remember. lol

Impulse buy on the new brushless ct861. My old one is showing its age but still rocking, however I always wished it had a bit more power. I’m genuinely excited to see how good the new one is or if I just wasted my money 🤣
Let us know what you think, my old gun is showing this age but it gets used pretty much all day every day.

Track saw is a game changer. In my top 10 favourite tools, no question.

Yeah it has been great so far. Made a custom dust collection adapter from pvc this wknd and I must admit it becomes a bit cumbersome with dust collection attached.

But I can already see arguments for having the shorter and longer tracks.

If you use it a lot you will want both, I set both my tracks with a 90 deg cut on one side & 45 deg on the other.

I have both the 118” for long rips and the 55” for cross cutting sheets. Definitely want both.

From the advice on this forum, I finally upgraded my old ratchets. 88T locking flexes and a set of torx bits. Did a bunch of work to brother in laws Cruze (turbo diagnose, PCV repair etc) and made life a lot easier and efficient!

Love the blue Matco ratchet. I bought one when they first came out but it was the 18" version with chrome handle. My most used ratchet is my BFR158LFG and just the 3 inches longer of the 18" ratchet made it not nearly as good to use as a 3/8" ratchet. I think the 12" is sweet.

I ended up selling my blue ratchet. My OCD got to me. All of my flex ratchets are green handle, and the fixed head are orange.

Started to get some new stuff to fill out my drawers. Went with Ko-ken extensions (thumbs up to the recommendations of GJ, these things are sweet!), got some feeler gages for fixtures and jobs at work, and added a snap utility knife because why not. Oh the liners are for my new Kennedy roller I bought for work. Hopefully I’ll have pics soon.

I’ve wanted a set of locking flex heads for some time but I can never commit. Every time I think I’ve settled a new recommendation and color scheme appears on this board. It’s killing me!

Impact sockets in 4 flavors. Picked up my order at Homer Depot, thanks to an alert on GJ that they were on sale, only the regular not the thin wall. I could have used the thin wall installing the spacers on the tractor.
Heads-up, the 3/8" drive sockets won't work on a hog-ring anvil. Very sloppy fit. I returned those and ordered some 3/8" tekton impact sockets.

12" on the 3/8" DR is a great length. I upgraded from the standard 8" and that extra leverage, along with a nice locking flex is night and day. I'm teaching my brother to wrench and this weekend I mistakenly handed him the 12" handle with no warning to tighten a small 6mm fastener (oil cooler line) and he put the same force on it that you would an 8", stripping the damn thing... Torque = Force x Distance lesson :).

On the handle color I actually like all my stuff to be different colors (my tool chests are all slightly different too), so when I ask my helper (wife, brother, neighbor etc) to get me something I can just say " blue handled chest, top drawer, red handle ratchet" etc. System works :)

I had a really good Matco guy, and he let me do a bunch of horse trading with used Matco ratchets so I replaced everything in all drive sizes for Matco soft handle ratchets and I was able to make them color coded how I wanted them. Worked out great but they are all about 15 years old so I have been buying Snap-Ons to replace them. Eventually I'll sell all my Matco ratchets just because I'm OCD.

It’s that time of the week again. Snap-on brass hammer they call it bronze but I’m sure it’s probably close to the same thing. Long skinny needle nose pliers, and two 1/2 impact sockets a 12 and 14mm. I’m sure everything here will come in handy I’ve needed a brass hammer a few times and didn’t have one.
Did you already lose the 10mm socket?

Couple small items today Tone sliding t-handle, Ko-Ken 3/8" quick spinner and the Tone ratcheting adapter, as well as a Tone fender cover which has magnets and hooks, the magnets seem weak so might need to upgrade them.
I don't understand magnets built into covers used in a shop setting and have seen the carnage they can inflict, not a good idea.
