Went by a regular estate sale and picked up a Craftsman plastic tote and 4 tools. Enderes 6-in-1 with both bits, an X-acto mini block plane, a 10" Vise grips, and a solid brass hose nozzle. Nothing I "needed" but I can't pass up useable stuff. Spent eight fitty for the lot.

Snap-on Monday today. Got the Streamlight Stylus Pro in blue that I ordered probably about a month ago. They also have a shiny blue as well but me personally I like the more dull flat blue. Picked up a set of Knipex 5 inch Channellock style pliers. Normally not a fan of Knipex but I love pliers lol and commonly ask to borrow this size so now I have these and the Duralast I got Saturday. Snap-on 56oz dead blow. The only one he had. I need dead blows as I ask to borrow those all the time as well. And two bit sockets that I showed a month or so ago from the pawn shop where the bit was broke in both. Got those replaced no problem. Hope he gets some orange dead blows soon though lol.

Needed a file holder for my larger 13/64 file....they wanted $21 for just the file holder, or $28 for all of this (plus a file for the rakers that is not pictured)

thumbnail_IMG_1833.jpg

Throw bag for some tree work:

thumbnail_IMG_1834.jpg

Tekton 1/4" extensions (3", 6", 9"). The only 6" one I had broke (locking mechanism...Craftsman), and all I have left is a couple 1" and 3".

I luv the 'big shot' slingshots for those throw bags. Put the sucker exactly wherever in the tree you need it waaay higher than can sling by hand.

My birthday present! Well not really, just that my Amazon Japan order happened to arrive today. :)

Vessel hammer & Engineer tang through screwdriver handle with their Bazooka stripped screw removal bits. Bought extra hammer tips cause it was way cheaper from Amazon Japan than if I ever needed to buy them from Vessel USA.

I really only wanted hard nylon tips on both ends for the hammer but that configuration only comes with a red handle. I wanted the teal blue to match my Vessel Megadoras but that comes with a rubber tip on one end . So that's another reason why I bought the extra tips. But who knows maybe I might find the rubber tip handy.

Bazooka screw removal tips, #1 & #2 cross and two for SHCSs. The shank that came with the handle is a regular #2.

I love these Stanley mini scrapers & keep them handy all over the place. No longer made in the USA though like the ones I have from 15 yrs ago. I've tried cheap copies of these & they all ****. Wanted different color for quick identification of what type of blade I keep in them. Saw these black ones at Walmart & bought one yesterday. Turns out I'm pretty sure Walmart has them made by SB&D. The mold & material is exactly the same as the Stanleys except they say HyperTough on them. Went back today & bought some more. The blades that come with the HT ones **** though but whatever, I don't care about that, & their price is still good.

Blake, you say you’re not a fan of Knipex. As a retired auto mechanic, knowing you are still somewhat early in your career as one, I challenge you.

Get yourself a 3 piece set of Knipex Alligators. 7, 10, and 12” off Amazon for about $90. As a professional mechanic, you can thank me in 20 years after you are still not only using them, but still grabbing them first, and your plier and cutter drawer is 95% orange handles.

Everyone has suggestions for new mechanics. Mine is to invest in Knipex from the get go, and they don’t have to be Cobras. It is something I wish I had done early in my career.

Thanks. I always appreciate the advice from the old guys. My main reason for not liking them is just simply the grips. I’m picky about grips. If they were like the Snap-on and Icon we’d have something I’d be a huge fan of. I’ve got two other sets of Knipex one set of cutters and a set of the Cobra I think the 10 or 12 inch. I love the quality of them.

I’m a big fan of Snap-on grips too. I will say that the few Knipex pliers I do have are mostly the comfort grip or “multi-component” as Knipex calls it. Try it out, I think you’ll like them.

As for me, I got some Milwaukee stuff in. Up first is a tool-free flange nut for my grinder, Milwaukee part #49-40-2783:

Next is the M12 surge impact driver 2-battery kit, 2551-22. Really liking this guy so far, I’m going to swap a 1/4” square drive into my 2551-20 impact driver and turn it into a 1/4” impact wrench.
7AB87DDF-E607-47C8-95E2-11E815BA0D0C.jpeg

Last is the big boy impact, 2767-20. Finally ran into some suspension stuff my M18 mid-torque was struggling with, and for $160 brand-new in the box from FB marketplace I couldn’t say no.

I love that Fixtec nut. I put one on my M18 grinder when first got or it, never even used the stock nut & wrench. I bought 2 of them just in case it ever failed or got lost. But it's been absolutely trouble free & so easy to use.

What so great about a mini scraper over a regular one? Honestly?

Small tasks, finer/more delicate control, compact storage. I have plenty of other larger scrapers that I also use but I find myself grabbing for these more often. I keep stainless steel & plastic blades in most of them.

I have a smaller slingshot I was going to try, but I'm not sure if it will do much with a 1# weight. No way I can justify the expense of the Big Shot for one or two trees a year...even though it looks like an awesome setup.

I do have a golf ball launcher for an AR15 that uses blanks...I bet that would get it up there!

There was a recent Knipex VDE promo set locally of the following for 69eur, which I missed.
vde set.jpg

So I decided to up my game; only the needle nose is the same with the above set.

74 06 200 Knipex High leverage cut 200mm, this theoretically can chew through steel nails. The set above has the standard 70 06 160mm cutter.
02 06 200 Knipex High Leverage combination pliers, this can also chew through steel wire. The set has a standard 03 06 180mm combi pliers.
26 16 200 Needle nose pliers 200mm.

Some extra bits. Liquid teflon sealant, some very comfortable eye protection and 2 sets of work gloves (I need Medium sized gloves :sneaky: )IMG_9491 (Edited).JPG

Wow! Will I get yelled at if I say the knurling and chrome on those look comparable to Nepros, possibly nicer?
I don't have the Nepros to compare with but I must say, these ratchets are incredibly nice. Very smooth, comfortable, and the chrome is flawless. Was hesitant to move on from SK but I'm glad that I've did. Been converting a lot of my tools from SK to Proto and loving them so far. They're spendy but worth it.

Those look amazing. I haven’t tried any of the new Proto 90t ratchets, but I’m thinking maybe I should.
They are spendy but worth it. I got mine from Zoro and you can find 20% off coupons. I haven't put these to use "in the field" but I have the 3/8" Proto 90t flexhead and it works like a champ. It was the only ratchet that could pull me away from locking flex head ratchets.

@silkman That thin Irega looks like something I Need. (y)
More on the relevant thread. Basically, Amazon.es is your friend

A friend who is very good with an angle grinder saw it today and he will try to grind one of his many adjustable wrenches. Basically you grind 2/3 length and sideways. Maybe use some bluing liquid afterwards for rust protection.

They dont last more than a couple years max. Pretty good for the price. I love mine.

I have this thin wrench from Channellock (https://channellock.com/product/8swcb/) but I'm pretty sure it's made by Irega. Looks just like it except for the color of the handle. Curious if you knew about these or they would have been easier to get........................

.............well I see you're in Greece so that answers my question. Enjoy the wrench. It's come in handy for me a few times.

I haven’t tried the ergo one yet but it seems a little big. I’ll try it though before I knock it lol. Wish they made hard plastic handled pliers then I’d really be a fan.
