In all seriousness, it's been a week since I bought any new tools & whats worse is I can't think of anything to get, I hope it's not serious or contagious, maybe it's mental?
Have you gone to Urgent Care yet?... do you need to call someone? Should we call you?

Keep up with the new tool thread. Check the various DEALS threads. Check eBay for "Tool Lots". Please get past this dark time.

Maybe you need some new tool catalogs, to keep next to your bed for some lite night reading, or in the restroom. that normally helps me, along with a Summit Racing and muscle car parts catalog.

Nothing new had arrived for me for a few days. It turned out that was because everything i'd ordered had arrived and there was nothing outstanding.

It left me feeling uneasy, so i quickly placed 5 more orders so i have something to look forward to.

Currently waiting on 22 impact sockets and a set of ¾" impact extensions/swivels/adapters. Harmony has been restored. For now.

Not generally a big fan of the Pittsburgh line at Harbor Freight but wanted a hammer for stakes at the campsite that I could totally abuse and this fit the scenario. C33F54C0-DB3A-4171-84E2-0FCB45F4271F.jpeg
For less than 8 bucks I can abuse the snot out of it, leave it outside in the dirt and rain, and heck, even leave it behind. My last one was a wooden handled rubber mallet and it snapped and the head went flying off into the unknown, probably in the poison ivy.
I did the same thing......the tent stakes destroyed it ....so I got a small sledge from harbor freight

They have a dumpster at the campsite. Should I just throw it in there when I get there or should I destroy it with stakes first?
I installed a ton of bed-edging in my yard where the stakes are basically flats of metal. I beat the ever-living **** out of mine for a full couple days, installing stakes every 3-4 feet. My identical hammer isn't pretty any more, but it worked great, and continues to work great. :dunno:

Sorry, that Estwing fails the "don't give a **** if i leave it behind" criteria.

Truth be told, one shouldn't be leaving anything behind...especially a tool.

My brain must be wired differently than most, as I keep up with the things I spend good money on. It's why I buy Oakley sunglasses. When you pay more, you treat them better and keep up with them. I still have my first pair from 18 years ago.

That’s not that weird. I think in today’s throw away society a lot of folks don’t take care of their stuff and it gets junked up quickly. I treat
All my stuff with care because I pay for it and I don’t put it on credit. I pride myself on taking care of tools and I always clean them before they get put away. If you pay up for something, I believe you should treat it well because it will take care of you.

Probably my last Snappy Wednesday. Picked up some small things, extra deep 10mm for bumpers, radio tool kit mostly for older euros, and a tape to round off my bill.

Kinda bummed the new locking ratchet isn't out here yet. Dealer said he heard they'll be released in the midwest last... go figure 😂

Bottom is my new US Industrial 3X riveter. Second hand but new in the box. Got it because I want to play around with solid rivets and do some sheet metal projects.

Top is my new Chicago Pneumatic 4447-RUVAB 6" riveter. 80s production but also new in box. The inner-tube grip sleeve is my addition. I got this to use at work on HD trailers as an air hammer. Big Nasty isn't big enough. PXL_20220512_042957014~2.jpg

I'm right at the limit of having enough air for my 498k and big nasty. If I had a place for 1/2" air lines I'd be in the market for the rifle length air hammer.

The wife ruined my Diamond diagonal cutters trying to cut the head off a screw several months ago. So I scouted the net to find another pair, no luck at that time. So a couple of weeks ago I was browsing eBay and found a NOS pair. Got them today. After the first time using the app discount they ended up costing about $5, the same price as the original ones cost in 1976.

I got my package from Harry Epstein today... my RoboGrip Pliers were missing... bag was open and empty. Wonder how this is gonna go.

That *****. The last time that happened to me was for a Matco box wrench, just thrown in a bubble mailer, arrived with a rip in the corner & no wrench. That was from ebay & the seller refunded me right away. I really wanted that wrench though & couldn't find another one as good & at that price. Ended up getting an Armstrong USA wrench which I was happy with.

Why do carriers deliver empty packages like there is nothing wrong? Well USPS did repackage something for me once that had box damage & put a note on it. What pisses me off even more are the sellers who cheap out on packaging and/or don't have common sense to package stuff properly.

If I ship something in a bubble mailer that has any weight to it I protect the item enough so that it wouldn't get damaged as if it wasn't in a bubble mailer. And I tape both ends so it won't rip & the item can't fall out. But if yours was theft then that's a different story. I figure HJE knows better & should take care of you.

Haha (that *****). My Mom did that once to my flush cutters. No idea what she tried to cut but it doesn't take much to damage flush cutters for electronics.

Sounds like you need to get the wifey her own pair of Knipex CoBolts. :D

Is this actually deep broach? I’ve been looking for an extra deep 10mm with a deep broach for some battery hold downs where my regular deep isn’t deep enough and I can’t fit a wrench
Yes, it's 4.5" (117mm) long and a deep broach. It's specs rate it to fit a 10mm nut on up to a 4" stud and it's $43 currently

Or you could get CTA Tools 10mm Extra Deep Socket (120mm) for $13 currently. It's not Snap-on grade, but it'll turn 10mm fasteners on long studs for years.

Or at least mine sure has. I bought the 10pc set when it was about $20 less than today's asking price and it's served me well.

Folks that ship tools in cheap **** bubble mailers should be publicly flogged. Amazon has even done this to me when they sent a 4 pound brass hammer, just tossed it in a bubble mailer. Mindbogglingly stupid.

My Mrs used the tiny Knipex flush cutters to cut 1/8" floral steel wire... snapped the head in half. They were German too. I asked her why she picked the tiny pliers instead of the actual tiny bolt cutters right next to it in my drawer. She said... the tiny ones felt so good in her hand.

It was Harry Epstein VIA Amazon. I tried to "Send a note to seller" FAILED TWICE. I had to pick a different method to communicate with seller. I will give it 2 days (as instructed)... then pull out my Chat Window with Amazon. Let them deal with Harry.

FYI... it was delivered by UPS with 6 other boxes. Including one weighing 90 pounds.
