I also picked up this Norbar 4R torque wrench today on Offerup for $50. 3/4" drive, 100 - 500 lbs ft. Came from an estate sale, hopefully it's calibrated correctly. I've wanted one for a while for big truck lug nuts, I like that it does counter clockwise for stud piloted work. If I have to spend some money on it to get it up to spec, hopefully I'm still ahead monetarily.

-digital-master1560544278-p9@4x_637039638072875682.png <--- This one?

I'll check it out.
Exactly that one, with the pin diameter sized for the hole, unlike the tiny linch pin that was supplied (at least with mine). The small linch pins take hardly any force to unsnap them. Larger ones, like you find on tractors, are much more substantial and hold in place very well. Call me cautious, but I could foresee the small linch pin coming unsnapped just by being casually brushed by, and from there rotating out and the cross pin then able to slide out.

Got new spark plug wire pliers. After reading the warning, think it's time to remove warnings from everything to clean the gene pool.
That one seems kind of silly. But we will forever have the CA Prop. 65 warning, since we now know everything causes cancer in CA. No wonder we have so many Californians fleeing to other Western states.

Popular Mechanics (PM) needle nose locking pliers. I couldn’t pass these up I collect this brand and it seems they are getting harder to find. Paid a little too much for them but oh well. $14 on eBay. This was Walmarts brand in the 90s- early 2000s. Amazing tools all were Taiwan or USA. Plus I’m a nerd for vise grip style pliers so yeah these helped the addiction a little bit lol 😂.

I've used Team Torque in ND for calibration and repairs, and have been satisfied with their work. For that big Norbar of yours, the minimum charge for calibration plus adjustment is $144 (calibration only is $100). AngleRepair in WV has a good reputation I believe, and is possibly cheaper than TeamTorque. For 3/4" wrenches they charge $60 for calibration only and for a "standard repair" they charge $90. Not sure what they charge for calibration adjustment if required. $90 ??

There are a handful of places here in Phoenix that do torque product calibration, and I'll probably take it to them, though I appreciate the suggestions. What I have run into in the past is places not wanting to do only a check. Seeing if it's where it should be is fine by me, I don't need traceable paperwork or anything, but some places won't do anything but a full work up.

Despite worrying about it, I've actually never had any torque wrench I've ever bought used end up being anything other than working accurately enough for what I'd ever use one for. This Norbar one is not too beat up, hopefully hadn't been dropped a lot. I think it's at least 2 generations ago of Norbar wrenches. I'm going to contact Norbar and see if the serial number holds any manufacturing date info.

That is totally reasonable. If a full calibration is $50, how much do you want to pay for a check? And how much extra work is a full calibration beyond a check? I guess just checking is not a profitable business. Same for alignment. I have never found a place that offers checking alignment for a deep discount.

Was in KC a few days ago and had to stop off at Harry Epstein. Picked up some screwdrivers. Most are Pratt-Read. One is Husky, one SK (love the handle), Crescent, Proto, and a couple Bonney sockets. Also found a lone Indestro socket

Thanks to this site, I have outgrown the 27" that I've had, so I picked up a new Husky 46" today to replace it.

I was planning on getting the US General 44" since it's on sale this weekend (and actually in stock) , but unfortunately, it's too deep to fit underneath my workbench. So I had to go with this one.

Picked up another brass punch and a set of drifts punches, both by Mayhew.

I've mangled a few cheap pin punches trying to budge stubborn things, and decided I don't want to ****** up the expensive pin punches that replaced them. This set should do the trick:

Linemaster momentary foot switch. These almost doubled in price since I bought my 1st one 5 years ago. Found an AWD for a couple of bucks cheaper than what I paid for my 1st one.

Another AWD. 8" diag cutters. Surprisingly I don't own any decent side cutters, just flush cutters, specialty cutters, & mini bolt cutters. All the side cutters I own are cheapies that got for free here & there. Blister pack had tape on it but when I took the tape off there was actualy no damage & it wasn't even opened.

Micro-Mark mini hand held vise. This thing is actually much nicer than I expected, especially for being made in India. I could actually make this myself but I don't think I could have bought the materials for the price of this vise. A pet peeve of mine is poorly machined knurling, can make any good tool look cheap. The knurling on this one is actually machined pretty nicely.

Not a tool but got it yesterday too. Bestine (n-Heptane). No one around me sells this stuff anymore. Found an art store that had it but was not close enough for me to drive there just to get it. But I was in the area so I picked it up, much cheaper than getting it online too. Bought 2 cans cause I'm in Cali & I'm sure one day it'll be banned also like all the other good stuff.

Did you buy from Mirco-mart? What did they charge for shipping? I could use something like that.

I purchased through Amazon $21.95, price was $1 more than Micro-Mark's website but the shipping is free. Don't know why the seller says Maker Source but it did ship directly from Micro-Mark.

Edit: BTW Micro-Mark is in NJ, not sure if you're within driving distance.

Edit2: Just checked their website & it shows on sale for $16.99. It was $20.95 last week.

Snap-on Monday today. Snap-on PWZ0OA not sure the proper name but I know they work well for alignments and it’s orange so that is a plus. Hose pinch pliers needed those because I don’t have any. Irwin 6 inch needle nose vise grips for the house. Mini side cutters. And a free battery pack. At least they say it’s free LOL.

I picked up another set of the Sunflag Japanese JIS drivers for my mobile kit. I have a set in my shop and I really like them. I went to order them again and Amazon has been out of stock for years. They finally got a few back in, so I ordered some more. Not the whole set, just the #1, and the #2 + Slotted set:
