Some new tools today. Just some to have as extras for common used stuff with the exception of the 11mm lol. I don’t have a long 8mm and really don’t want to pay Snap-on prices for them and my driver never has an individual long 8. I’ve heard good things about these Napa Carlyle ones. Also got an extra 14mm and 8mm socket as I use these all the time on everything I work on it seems and I don’t have any extra 6 points at work and can never find them at the pawn shop either. I wanted quality ones too. The 11mm DieHard will be my second Diehard tool I got it as a fill in for my set at the house because that’s another one I can’t find at the pawn shop. Didn’t find the shallow 1/4 drive 10mm I was looking for anywhere so I’ll go to AutoZone or Home Depot or somewhere later and get one. Reason for getting extras is I lost one the other day couldn’t find it then it turned up lol.
I have that Carlyle wrench set. You will really like it. The no slip teeth have saved me a few times where conventional wrenches would have failed!

I need more pliers like I need a kick in the nuts but I’ve been on a Channellock kick lately and came across these on sale for $25CAD ($18.85 USD) and couldn’t resist.

I have lots of Knipex, some snap-on and some Japanese pliers but it seems Channellock gives you a lot for the price and I love the wide handles.

Amazon just delivered me this Magnetic Finger today. Is it gimmicky? Oh yeah, but it was pretty cheap and I suspect it may prove to be pretty helpful for me as my affliction with fumblefingers has only gotten worse over time.

Has anyone else ever used something like this?

EDIT: It fits fairly snug on my slender fingers. Pretty perfect TBH BUT Might not be as easy or comfortable on someone with chubbier phalanges. Seems to hold med-smaller nuts and bolts well enough even through a 9mil nitrile glove.

When you use it that one time.... it'll be worth it and pay for itself.

This was delivered this past weekend. A birthday present to myself.

A pair of the Fireball Maximus clamps, a set of the Pferd 2nd cut files, and a table scraper. The scraper is heavier than I expected, and works great. I need to get some .120 wall 1x2 steel tube next time I am at the metal store to use as bars in the clamps. The files look nice, but I haven't been able to put them through their paces.

Needed another impact, really wanted the dewalt 899 but it’s out of stock, have a few of each and the dewalt just feels better, both are good though.
Had to get another megapro, they’re just such a handy tool and using 1” bits is key plus the really strong magnet.

Ordered my Knipex Snap Ring Plier Set from Amazon.de on Sunday, arrived today.

This will replace my 20 year old Channel Lock reversible with interchangeable tips. I really like how the smaller pliers do not have springs. Let my hands/fingers do the work.

Over time I'll add to these four pieces with angled pliers.

I got a new ICON 3/8" flex-head ratchet. But I already had one that I bought 6 months earlier.

The reason for the replacement is that I was using mine the other day and in the course of adding some extensions, I saw a small spring bouncing off the garage floor. It turned out that the detent ball went flying somewhere but I could not recover it.

I wasn't sure how the replacement process would go at Harbor Freight. But I walked in the door with the bare ratchet in hand and they told me to pick out the new one before I could even ask. Still, I would have preferred to have the tool work longer than 1/2 a year.

No new tool purchases recently but I have been spending monies. Do new custom seat covers & a stereo count? They'll be used everyday so they are tools to me. I hope so cause this stuff cost me $1500! No regrets either spending so much, really happy with them, my wallet not so much. :)

Gonna miss the motorized tilting face & volume knob on my old Alpine. I hate volume buttons. But my old radio is 17 yrs old, didn't even have auxiliary input or bluetooth. I did add a bluetooth module to it but had to control everything from my phone & no automatic playback.

New HU, brand new model, just came out a month or 2 ago. Has a 720p HD display. Can't believe I wated so long to upgrade. So much more features/technology these days. I love this thing! Now I gotta break the habit of controlling music from my phone. Been doing it so long I do it without even thinking. 😆

Some new tools today. Had Snap-on fix a screwdriver I had broke so the screwdriver isn’t new but the tip is. Also picked up a set of Knipex twin grips from Matco as well along with the meat sticks. He couldn’t find the Matco part number for the Knipex so right now I have a free pair of pliers until he finds the number lol. One thing I noticed is all the other Matco Knipex have Matco stamped on them these didn’t. These are Knipex version of Vampliers which are excellent. And then some cool powdered hand cleaner which I thought was interesting so I’m going to try it out. Then of course you know I can’t go a day without going to the auto parts store lol. I picked up an 8mm 1/4 drive socket at Auto Zone along with a 3/8 drive shallow 22mm too I have one at home but none at work I had the deep version just haven’t found the 22mm 3/8 drive shallow in stock until today. When I got the PowerTorque 8mm I had originally went in to look for a 10mm of course they didn’t have one so somehow I didn’t remember I just had bought an 8mm so I bought another one lol. Oh well can’t have too many 8, 10, 12 or 14 for my job lol. The guy at Auto Zone was like these ain’t as good as Snap-on but the warranty is just as good and they will be replaced with no questions asked if you break one. Fortunately I haven’t broken a Duralast before lol they are pretty good sockets a little pricey but that’s to be expected at a parts store.
